Play With Gilbert - A Small Tail - | DeRaNgEr
Happy Halloween
Halloween's being celebrated in Play With Gilbert right now. You'll be able to hear spooky tunes, collect pumpkins instead of fishies and the kitties in the game are wearing their costumes.

New content for the game is in the works and a new Gilbert game is being worked on which is very different from the ones I've done so far (more info below).

For many people, myself included, the last 2 years have been incredibly taxing to say the least and in an effort to keep doing what I love I've set up a Patreon page to hopefully pull in support for current and future projects that are in development. I'll share more info about that at the end of the news update if you're curious and I think it's pretty interesting.

Celebrate Halloween in PWG


The Halloween event started on October 24th and with the new update will end on November 4th. I extended the timeslot a bit so that players can enjoy the event just a bit longer. Some of you might have noticed there's an overlap between PWG and Spookity Hollow and that's because the two games share the same base. This also means that your customized kitty can be brought over from Spookity Hollow and vice versa.

Meet Skye


From here on out the default kitties that the game starts with are Gilbert and Skye. Skye is now based after my daughters customized kitten and is going to be Gilbert's little friend. The two of them actually are going to have their own adventure in their own new game! Of course you can still customize Skye and make your own kitty in PWG but it's a small but important tweak.

I also fixed a few things in the game that were broken during the engine upgrade (Fairy lights weren't working properly) so there's that.

Spookity Hollow
For those of you who have missed it, Spookity Hollow has been released which is a standalone game based on the PWG remake project. It's a full on Halloween themed experience and one which I hope to expand upon a little bit to set it further apart and create a richer experience.

Whiskered Away

Now this is a project I've been wanting to talk about for a while now but couldn't due to it being in a very early stage. Whiskered Away is a different take on the Gilbert series as you can see it's a 2D platform game with adventure elements to it.

The game has a simple but fun little story attached to it and a simple yet effective dialogue system. This system that I created for the game allows me to create narratives and bring characters to life. On top of that I also developed a simple quest system, which is fully dynamic and will be used in both a linear and non linear way. This means some quests are mandatory while others are optional.

Lastly I also added abilities, which will be unlocked when you find certain characters that will teach them to you. This means that you may have to wander off the beaten path in order to unlock a new ability, which is the an aspect of the adventure portion.

Don't worry, the game isn't complex and the platforming isn't going to be incredibly tedious. As with anything Gilbert related I want people to have fun so I try to keep the game a little bit sand-box-y.

But hey, you can give the game a go right now. As I'm trying to expand the Gilbert community and also build a new one around the new game I've decided to release the early alpha out into the wild for free! This means that you can get involved directly with the game's development either by offering feedback, suggestions and more!

We are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of Last Mortem on Steam!



Exactly one year ago we successfully launched our game on the biggest game store in the world. It wasn't an easy process, the launch was accompanied by glitches and technical problems that were being fixed right in the first moments. This Update is another treat for our fan base.

As promissed, we added to the game the Halloween versions of Nerin and of Rhenelis draw by The Handjob Artificer in the broadcasts that we made.

You can see them in the Darkroom after completing the Level 3 of Nerin and the Level 3 of Rhenelis in the Photobook. Doing so will unlock a 4th photo of that two girls in the Darkroom.

BLOCKADE - Novalink


Good day to our beloved community and to our guests!

The night is coming to our servers, and that only means one thing - Halloween finally came to Blockade! For this year, we present you a new even called "BLOOD NIGHT", which work like Battle Pass Season, but with some changes. We revisited the "Z Edition" weapons. Every player who joins before 14th of November can get free coins and consumables from the present in their inventory. We also didn't forget about old themed skins, overall Halloween-themed decorations, "Mutagen" game mode and many more.

Now let's get to the list of changes:

New:
  • Added The Halloween event update.
  • The event will be in the game up till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;
  • Every player got a present, which you can find in OTHER category in your BACKPACK. Contents of the present: 20 coins, 15 M61 grenades, 15 SHMEL, 15 Aid Kits, 15 Molotov, 50 Pumpkins. If you didn't get the present, please reload the game.
  • You can open your presents up till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;
  • Total of 75 new blocks were added (unique blocks and variations of already existant ones);
  • New in-game event "BLOOD NIGHT" is added, where each player gets a chance to acquire new Player skins - The Witcher, Bard and The Sorceress, and also new weapons - TEC-9 "BLOOD NIGHT", Sawed-Off "BLOOD NIGHT", AKS-74U "BLOOD NIGHT" and The Silver Sword. A new event badge is added. The event work similarly to Battle Pass Seasons. Every day there are 3 missions available, upon completion you will recieve 250 progress points for each. Overall you can get up to 750 progress points. Other part of points you can get just by playing the game.
  • "CURSED BONES Edition" is now available in the shop: Shovel, M3, M14, MP5 and GLOCK 17. Every weapon is upgraded and can be used in close combat ("V" Button). Damage dealt in close combat is equal to normal shot from these weapons. The weapon can deal damage to ghosts. "CURSED BONES Edition" is not included in MEGAPACK;
  • New weapons added: TEC-9 "BLOOD NIGHT", Sawed-Off "BLOOD NIGHT", AKS-74U "BLOOD NIGHT" and The Silver Sword.
  • "BLOOD NIGHT Edition" is fully upgraded;
  • New Player skins added: Elis, Leon Kennedy, The Witcher, Bard and Sorceress;
  • The Witcher skin: Takes 30% less damage from Zombies and Ghosts NPC. Deals 20% more damage with The Silver Sword;
  • Bard skin: Takes 20% less damage from gas toxin;
  • Sorceress skin: Takes 30% less damage from explosions and fire;
  • Elis skin: Takes 20% less damage from Zombies and Ghosts NPC. Deals 5% more damage with Beretta, Gold Colts, MP5, G36C;
  • Leon skin: Takes 20% less damage from Zombies and Ghosts NPC. Deals 5% more damage with Glock 17, P226, MP5, M4A1;
  • Previous Halloween Player and weapon skins are added;
  • Death and The Witch skins are added;
  • Soul Eater Scythe and Broom close combat weapons added;
  • New weapon mechanic - Sawed-Off - press right mouse button to make a shot from both barrels. 2 shotgun shells will be used, and the damage that will be dealt is double;
  • Ghosts are added to the game, for killing which players will recieve XP. Ghosts can be killed with consumables and "CURSED BONES Edition" weapons. Ghosts will be in the game till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;
  • Added time limited in-game currency deals. They will be available till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;
  • "Mutagen" game mode added. The only way to kill your opponent is to hex him into a little animal! You can do that with special potion-grenade, which you can throw with the "G" button. But be careful! The animal can be also killed by your teammates!;
  • Anima-easter eggs added. Chance of appearance is 15%. Once per 30 minutes (starting from the point when at least 8 players are present) one random player turns into an animal-easter egg, other players need to hunt that player down! Player that got turned into one got only one objective - survive, to recieve a reward of 250 coins. If you couldn't survive for that amount of time, the reward will be split among the hunters. More damage dealt -
  • more coins. You have only 5 minutes to hunt it down. Animal-easter eggs spawns in these game modes:Battle, Contra, Survival, Domination, Gungame, Capture. Animal-easter eggs will be in the game till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;
  • Halloween themed easter eggs are added. Chance of appearance of big easter eggs is 7%, small ones is 20%. For easter eggs to appear at least 8 players must be present on the server. You can get from 5 to 15 coins from small easter eggs, but they disappear after 15 seconds of appearing. Big easter eggs do not disappear, and the reward of 500 coins is split among the players according to damage dealt. The one who will deal the final blow will recieve an additional bonus: 20 grenades, 20 SHMEL, 20 MK3 grenades, 20 M202! All types of easter eggs can be found on servers with game modes Contra, Battle, Survival, Domination, Gungame, Capture. It is useless to look for easter eggs on private servers. The easter eggs will be in the game till 14th of November 4/59/59 AM EDT & 9/59/59 AM BST;

In-game changes:
  • Background and loading screens are changed to Halloween themed;
  • All servers are now in Eternal Terrifying Night;
  • Music changed to Halloween themed;
  • M61 grenades changed to Pumpkins;
  • Prices of previous Halloween themed skins are increased;
  • Price of "CURSED BONES Edition" is increased;
  • "Z Edition" weapons got reworked. Weapons from this edition are now fully upgraded and has a bonus "+25% damage to Zombies";
  • "Z Edition" weapon's price is increased;
  • From now on "Z Edition" will only be available on Halloween. This edition is available to MEGAPACK owners that bought it before October 31st 2021;
  • Gold Colts shooting mechanic reworked. You shoot normally on left mouse button, but shoot from both colts with double damage on right mouse button;
  • Every scope's grid got reworked.
  • HONCHO TRIPLE reload time is decreased.
  • Some weapons got new models: FN57, Z-FN57, TEC-9, GONCZ GA-9, ASVAL, Z-ASVAL, AKS-74U, M249, Z-M249, KORD, Z-KORD, MINIGUN, Z-MINIGUN, SPAS-12, Z-SPAS12, AA12, Z-AA12;
  • You now recieve XP for capturing the center point in game mode Battle. Each second gives you 1 xp without Premium. Xp is given only when server has at least 8 players;
  • The speed of capture of the center point on Battle game mode is now depends on how much players are in the center point;
  • Changes to transparency of WATER block;
  • Some block's texture got changed in some texturepacks;
  • Removed Zombie Blocks, Contra Blocks (Blue) and Contra blocks (Red). These blocks were changed to blocks S (blue, red, green, yellow) on all maps;
  • Added Zombie kill count on Survival game mode.

Fixes:
  • Fixed Gold Colts bugs;
  • Fixed a bug related to the sound of MINIGUN and Z-MINIGUN firing on the left mouse button.

▪ Redesign of the level selector and leaderboards:
The level selector screen is now ABSOLUTELY new. And 42 times more convenient than before!
And why is that? Because!


▪ Puzzle levels:
Completely separated from the main gameplay with platforming. Many have complained that gameplay is interrupted periodically by highly intelligent puzzle tasks...
Okay! Now gameplay is continuous, just like a presidential term :)
The choice of puzzles is now located separately, under the main levels. They are highlighted in color!
All puzzles are available immediately, and 100% free, heh :)
..Also, puzzles can be skipped. I do not know why, but you can :) Cool, huh? =)


▪ Leaderboards:
Now visually and tactilely more convenient. The icons of the leaderboards have been changed. And also their location under each level has become more convenient. Now you will definitely notice them.
Also now you have the ability to go to all of the game's world statistics right from the level selection screen! Just one click, and you see the best players in the world, and perhaps you're among them? :)


▪ Selector design:
redesigned and made much more intuitive, compact, informative, and beautiful. Now designers with higher education can move in and live there. Artemy Lebedev approves! Or not. How should I know?

Yes yes, the game is beloved by speedrunners, bow to you :)
A little squeeze for you:
▪ Game levels are now not interrupted by puzzles, you don't waste time skipping spots!
▪ The level is instantly restarted by pressing "R"! (on the gamepad - the right bumper)
▪ The transition to the next level, at the moment when the stat pops up is available by pressing the mouse AT ANY PLACE on the screen, as well as by pressing the keys: "Spacebar", "Enter", "Esc"
