"Warlords, Halloween is around the corner. And we're pretty sure that Kheshigs is sort of ready for the festival- yep, we made some adjustments to this very unit. Hope you all can have great fight and enjoyment with Kheshigs on Halloween!

Our initial idea for Kheshigs was for them to display the ferocity of the Mongolian cavalry, a mounted force highly dangerous to infantry. What we wanted them to embody was: 'charge into the enemies' ranks and slice in all directions, leaving nothing but carnage in their wake.

However, owing to later changes and continued iterations with the season, the Kheshigs gradually lost their superiority against infantry. Their active skill, [Heroic Charge], was not enough as it only allowed them to attack but never retreat. It became easy to lose plenty of troops while only being able to launch one dangerous assault, which made them weak in the current meta. Thus, we've decided to make a series of changes to them."



Kheshigs Changes

1. Improved the [Heroic Charge] skill.

This is now a two-phase Charge, where the first phase is [Heroic Charge] and the second is [Returning Charge].
[Heroic Charge]
▪ Works identically to the previous [Heroic Charge].
[Returning Charge]
▪ Active: Perform a [Returning Charge] towards the hero's location. Slashing damage is increased by 20% during [Returning Charge]'s duration.
▪ Only useable after [Heroic Charge].

2. A new skill [Frenzied Onslaught]
  • Passive: The Kheshigs launch a series of attacks, wounding and lacerating enemies hit.
  • Active: The Kheshigs attack without restraint for 5 seconds, while also taking reduced ranged damage as they lower their bodies. They will attack with reduced speed for 10 seconds after their Frenzied Assault.
"The changes mainly serve to increase the Kheshigs' burst potential so that they can once again pressure infantry. Naturally, making [Heroic Charge] a two-phase ability enables them to enter and exit combat for greater flexibility. This also better suits their image as a cold-blooded melee cavalry."

We have also adjusted some numerical errors in the skill's description texts (the skill's actual effects remain unchanged).
  • [Heroic Charge]'s initial charge reduces damage taken by 20% (was 30%).
  • [Heroic Charge]'s second charge increases slashing damage by 20% (was 30%).
  • [Heroic Charge]'s initial charge lasts 10 seconds.
"Another thing that has been talked about is their weak survivability. While the argument can be made, we believe that their survivability is in line with our expectations. They are clad in light armor to attain greater mobility, and with their dual blades they can deal tremendous damage, while also inflicting bleed.

We hope that these changes will make the Khan's soldiers instill fear into the world once more! We would also ask you all to take a moment and think how these mounted warriors can be used in battle for the greatest effect."

Engine Changes
  • Changed Unity version to 2021.1
    We've updated our engine version from Unity 2020.3 to unity 2021.1 to get more features out of the current URP.

New Content
  • Added New Weapon "UMP"
    The UMP was designed in the 1990s by Heckler & Koch, as a cheaper, lighter alternative to the MP5, which made heavy use of polymers. The UMP first entered production in 2000 and is now playable in Vengeance!

Quality of Life Improvements
  • Added a Better Round End Screen transition
    We thought the way the matches end is way too hard of a cut, so we added a new fade to every ending round.



  • Added Killstreak Tracker
    You now have a way to see how many kills you are away from every killstreak.



  • Changed Medal Design
    We thought that it is hard to identify what every medal stands for because of that we changed them. They should also fit with our current art direction.



  • Changed Level Icons
    We thought the old red level icons weren't fitting for the current art direction we are aiming for and because of that, we changed them.



  • Changed Gun Game Logic
    You now need two kills per gun and the round ends after reaching the time limit.
    You also get random attachments on every weapon now!

  • Changed Scopes for AKM, AKs
    Some of the weapon scopes were blocked by the iron sight so we changed some of the scopes to fix that.

  • Changed Frag Behavior
    We felt that the frag grenades were a bit too bouncy so we reduced the bounciness and changed a few other values.

  • Changed some objects on Raid
    We found out that some of the models used for the map Raid are very unoptimized so we replaced them.

  • Improved Famas Ironsight
    We found out that players have problems with the current Famas Ironsight because of that, we gave the Famas a new one.

The top 35% of players (or more depending on the number of players that take part) unlock a new exclusive helmet, and the person with the fastest time gets a free copy of the Murder Miners - Believer's Pack DLC. The competition starts on October 31st and lasts till November 10th.

MULTIPLAYERS

So I spent these months improving the existing demo. The story content remains the same, but you can now play with your buddy if you have two controllers connected.



ORTHOGRAPHIC VIEW

In order to improve the viewing angle in couch-coop mode, the camera is now in orthographic mode.
This had become necessary so that the two characters could move away from each other in order to fight different enemies. Otherwise there would have been angles of view where one of the characters could have been hidden behind an element of scenery.



Beyond that, I spent time to scale the elements of the background, so that they are adapted to this new projection.

CLIMBING SYSTEM

The climbing system has been redesigned. The animation has been redone, an auto grab system has been put in place to make it easier to get off the platforms, and some details have been tweaked.

BULLET TOWN & TOHAMA

Two new areas have been added to the last release, available for Kickstarter backers who have access to the Beta. These levels are a little "flat" at the moment, but they should take a little relief with the arrival of new platforms and new custom enemies.

These predators will wipe out anyone who didn’t manage to retreat in time. The roads of the Valley are covered with smoldering metal remains — piles of scrap metal, that are left wherever the Ravagers come. Engineers and Founders continue to fight them in an unequal battle, and right now they really need support, including yours.

As you can see, the situation is far from being positive. Beware of the red glow in the night, survivors. In the meantime, here’s the new calendar for November. The ghost of Halloween, a traditional holiday, looms somewhere nearby.

It's almost the last 1/6 of 2021, and the season is changing. Dyson Sphere Program is also changing little by little, with the combat system development in progress.

  • Added a new space navigation direction icon in the bottom left corner of the screen.

Changes:
  • The Random button for seed selection has been changed to Seed Increment. Players can now go back to the previous seeds more easily.
Bugfix:
  • Fixed the bug that the color of the shadow of some selected buildings may go wrong when the selected buildings are removed in Blueprint copy mode.
  • Fixed the bug that it was possible to build a conveyor belt between two tanks under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed the bug that the UI of Matrix Lab was out of form in English language.
  • Fixed the bug when the button to rotate the building is not the default button, the mining machine could't be rotated when ignoring the grid adsorption.
