Jurassic World Evolution 2 - FRONTIER
Welcome back Park Managers to a new entry in our Park Management Guide!
In this series of articles and videos, we're taking a deeper look into the mechanics and features you will be using while managing your parks in Jurassic World Evolution 2. Previously, we talked about the different Park Teams and how they help out with park and dinosaur upkeep and management.

Today we're taking a look at the three different kinds of dinosaur and reptile enclosures you'll be building to house and hopefully contain your prehistoric animals.

Land Dinosaur Enclosures
Your land dinosaurs are kept inside fenced enclosures. Most of them are sociable and get along well with other species, but some will need to be kept to themselves, both for their own safety and the safety of others. Triceratops and Stegosaurus should be kept apart, for instance. There are many types of fences and walls in Jurassic World Evolution 2, from your basic steel fences to concrete and electrified fences. Their appearance will vary depending on the era or theming you choose for your parks, and difference fences are needed for different dinosaurs.

Keeping your dinosaurs happy and comfortable is your primary objective, so you'll need to customise their enclosures using plants, food and water sources, and ground types. Unhappy dinosaurs will grow restless and try to break out. Large theropods like T. rex and Qianzhousaurus will usually try to headbutt fences or gates in order to break them, whereas Stegosaurus and other thyreophorans will likely use their tails. Smaller theropods like Dilophosaurus and Velociraptor will usually try to climb non-electrified fences in order to escape.

Fences, gates, and dinosaurs have a specific security rating. If a dinosaur's security rating is higher than a fence's, it will be able to destroy the fence and then run rampant throughout your park. If a fence's security rating is higher, your dinosaurs will still try to break out, but won't be able to destroy the fence or gate, injuring themselves in the process. You'll then need to dispatch your MVUs to provide medical attention. A fence will never outright kill a dinosaur, but can cause them harm. Gates can also be attacked and broken, and broken gates won't close properly, making escape easy for any prehistoric land animal looking to get out.

Electrified fences will act as an extra deterrent against attacks, but they also need additional power in order to deliver an electric shock. If they don't have power they will still act as a regular fence, but with a lower security rating than a fully powered fence. Velociraptor and Dilophosaurus won't climb electrified fences, but will instead attack the fences directly using their heads or bodies. If the fence loses power, they may try to climb it.

Aviaries
Flying reptiles will be housed in Aviaries. These domed structures are modular and can be linked together, letting you build unique and dynamic enclosures. Hatcheries and Viewing Galleries are attached to the walls at predetermined points. You will need at least one Hatchery per Aviary enclosure, so your Ranger Teams can perform their Ranger Scans and report back to you about your flying reptiles.

Multiple flying reptiles can live inside a single Aviary, but you'll need to make sure they have enough space for their territories. Like with land dinosaurs, they also have wants and needs that have to be met in order to make them comfortable. You can modify the Aviary interiors with ground types and plants and other greenery, and you'll need a Fish Feeder or two in order to keep them fed. Unhappy flying reptiles might try to escape by smashing through the domed ceiling.

A new feature to Aviaries is that Guided Tours can now pass through them, provided that there are entry and exit gates attached to the sides. This will provide your guests with a more up close and personal view of your flying reptiles, and is sure to leave them awestruck.

Lagoons
Lagoons are new modular aquatic habitats that will house your marine reptiles. Like with Aviaries, Lagoons are modular, and can be expanded at preset points. Hatcheries and Viewing Galleries are attached to the Lagoon walls at predetermined points, and your Ranger Teams will link up with a Hatchery to perform Ranger Scans of marine reptiles. You will need at least one Hatchery per Lagoon in order to know your marine reptiles' wants and needs.

Your Lagoons can't be entered by Guided Tours, but Monorails can pass – or over – for increased dinosaur visibility. The Viewing Galleries can be lowered below the water, so your guests can see the marine reptiles up close in their natural element. Attach a Shark Feeder to any Lagoon housing a large marine reptile, like the Mosasaurus, to give your guests a spectacular sight around feeding time. Smaller marine reptiles are happy with fish, so don't forget to add a Fish Feeder so they have a source of food. Hungry marine reptiles won't be able to escape, but they will die of hunger if left without food for too long.

A single Lagoon can house several marine reptiles, but depending on the species it may be a good idea to keep some of them separated. Larger marine reptiles might just try and eat the smaller ones.

Now that you know more about the different enclosure types in Jurassic World Evolution 2 you're well equipped to manage a park that runs smoothly and hopefully without incident. These additional enclosures and animals will offer your parks new opportunities, and new challenges. Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Don't forget: you can pre-order Jurassic World Evolution 2 now by heading to our website, or from your storefront of choice, and get three exclusive Vehicle Skins inspired by The Lost World for use in Sandbox and Challenge Mode. You can also pick up the Deluxe Edition and get 5 additional dinosaurs and reptiles: Geosternbergia, Attenborosaurus, Pachyrhinosaurus, Huayangosaurus & Megalosaurus, 6 new signs for your Amenities Buildings, and 3 Dinosaur Protection Group Vehicle Skins for Sandbox and Challenge Mode. Remember to also follow us on TwitterFacebook and Instagram, and join the discussions about the game on our forums!

In last week's update we introduced a new Emojis system so players can communicate on all platforms! Players can use Emojis to communicate after or between matches on the Scoreboard screen and in the Lobby. There are 15 Emojis featuring different Legends with unique expressions and emotions.
  • Players now can express themselves on all platforms!
  • The default bindings to use an Emoji are: “]”on keyboard and “RB” on controller. There is a small cooldown timer after consistently using an Emoji.
  • Saying “GG” after a match will automatically activate the “GG” Emoji for an easy shortcut.
  • If a player is muted, their Emojis are hidden from the player that muted them.
  • Since post-game chat was a feature only available on the Steam client and did not exist between platforms, it has been replaced by the Emoji system. It is still available in character select, mid-match for spectators, custom lobbies, matchmaking lobbies, and the main menu for clans on PC and Mac.
  • There are now options for PC and Mac players to customize their chat visibility between all, friends+clanmates, or no chat.

Looking for your next Ranked 2v2 partner or want to spar against the last opponent you played? Players can now invite other players they just brawled with or against from matchmade games to a lobby!
  • This can be done from the Scoreboard screen either from the Inspect menu or the Lobby menu in the top-right hub.
  • Players select what type of lobby to invite other brawlers to, but the type of lobby will not change until the invited player joins.
  • A notification will appear if the invited player accepts the invitation. Players can accept the invitation from their notifications in the Lobby menu or Main Menu.
  • Players can also invite their opponent even if they are not on their friends list.

Gloomhaven - Twin Sails Eir
A band of battle-scarred mercenaries violently opens the door of the Sleeping Lion. Not the best tavern in town but not so shabby as to deter bounty hunters, ruffians and other unsavoury folks. Once seated, a beer in each hand, their leader clamors with a distinctive deep voice:
“We’re back lads! Do you smell this? The scent of opportunity! We’ve left the city for two years, we’ve become Guildmasters and taken our fair share of loot, but Gloomhaven has called us home.”

With a quick glance, he notices several people whispering and counting their gold whilst looking around:
“It seems like work is back on the menu.”

Soon enough, a heteroclite group of small-time adventurers approaches him, seemingly confused:
“Well, well, what do we have here? Green blood! Whaddaya want? A contract? An advice? A hug mayhap?”

Without giving them a chance to answer, the veteran mercenary grabs one of them by the collar and mumbles:
“No hug for you, but let me give you a piece of advice, if you’re looking for mercenary work, we’ve heard there’s a Valrath looking for hired blades capable of tracking down some stolen documents. Go see her if it is in your line of work. Now get lost!”

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
LAUNCH DAY EDITION

How different is Gloomhaven Digital from the original board game?

A 1:1 adaptation was both not possible or desirable, as digital platforms and their gameplay have their own advantages and drawbacks compared to tabletop. Keep in mind that differences remain very minor and Gloomhaven Digital is a very faithful adaptation of the original gameplay and design.
Every difference implemented in Gloomhaven Digital was closely discussed and custom-tailored together with the original board game author, Isaac Childres, to ensure we stayed true to Gloomhaven's core design.

_______________________

Do I need to buy the game again if I already bought the Early Access version?

No, of course not. If you already own Gloomhaven Digital, you will simply be prompted to download an update which will upgrade your Early Access version to the full 1.0 version.

_______________________

How long is the game?

It varies a lot depending on how you play. There are 250+ missions in the game, shared between the Guildmaster and Campaign modes.
That should be at least 150 hours of gameplay if you are super fast and never lose, probably above 200+ hours for most people.

_______________________

Are my Early Access saves compatible with the 1.0 version?

Guildmaster saves will for sure be compatible, however, for Campaign Beta saves, we cannot make any promises right now, it might depend on when they have been created.

_______________________

Should I start a fresh run?

Yes, we strongly suggest you start a fresh run as the Campaign is brand new.
It is also always a possibility to start a new one on the Guildmaster mode, but not necessary, as all saves (old and new) will have the same content.

_______________________

How many players can play together online?

All of the content Gloomhaven has to offer (both the Guildmaster mode and the Campaign) is available for up to 4 players in co-op.

_______________________

Can we expect further updates after that?

Yes, we will be patching and supporting the game after launch.
DLCs are also a possibility, but our main focus is supporting the base game and making sure it matches the players’ expectations.
Anyway, we’re not going to suddenly vanish.

_______________________

Do you plan on supporting additional languages?

Our four languages at launch are English, French, German and Spanish.
We can't promise anything else for now!

_______________________

Will you release Gloomhaven on other platforms?

It will be available at launch on Steam and GoG, and supported on PC.
Our main focus for now is to make sure the game is absolutely the best it can be on these platforms before turning to anything else.

_______________________

What about Gloomhaven on MacOS?

Initially, we wanted to release the MacOS version at launch, given that it would be stable and of a quality level we deemed appropriate for MacOS players.
As of right now, we haven’t met the standards we set for the MacOS version to be released, and thus we will keep on improving it until it can be released in a patch in the upcoming weeks.
Please believe this is one of our top priorities and we absolutely care about giving MacOS players the opportunity to join us on Gloomhaven.

_______________________

What about bugs?

Gloomhaven is a colossal game with tens of thousands of possible abilities, items, perks, enhancements, enemies and overall combinations. While we have invested a massive amount of time and effort on fixing desynchronization issues and other bugs over the past year, you may still encounter issues in the multiplayer version of Gloomhaven.

If you experience crashes or freezes, or find any additional issues that break the game or hinder you from progressing in the game, please report them on our support portal.
The devs would really appreciate it if you attach a video or a screenshot of the issue and all of the information you have available. That will help us a lot in our investigation!

You can find the support portal here:
https://asmodee.helpshift.com/hc/en/75-gloomhaven/

You can contact us directly here:
https://asmodee.helpshift.com/hc/en/75-gloomhaven/contact-us/

Known issue and workaround: if you encounter a multiplayer desynchronization, as the game is automatically saved at the end of each turn, you can simply reload the save, re-invite your friends using a new multiplayer code and then choose a different card combination.

Viscerafest - 1C_David

Ahoi folks! Lead dev here, and we're back with our biggest update yet!

Coming in with a host of new features and fixes, from controller support and new mechanics to better facilitate playing with one, to various substantial tweaks and changes to help polish up the first boss! We've also been working on stamping out a slew of saving-related issues, so you should find things a bit more stable on that side as well.

One thing to note with the controller support is that what we've effectively done is closer to laying the foundations rather than being anything close to finalized. We still want to and have yet to add things like gyro support but rest assured we do indeed plan to, but if you're running the game through steam it's very likely you've already been using that feature if it appeals to you.

On that note, however, we should provide a quick disclaimer regarding the Switch Pro Controller support. In the setup menus for the controller side of things is a Lil question mark that'll help folks confused with how to set up their specific pads for the game, if you're using a Switch Pro Controller, you will absolutely want to consult this. How you will be required to set up the Pro Controller changes on whether or not you are using steam, so please be sure to pay attention to that.

On a final note before you view the cavalcade of chaos that is the patch notes, I'd like to apologize to everyone who's been waiting for this update. We wanted this update out much sooner than it came, but unfortunately, the slew of new features and bugs we had to tackle ended up being more of an undertaking than we'd originally anticipated. Seditionis Crutarch Royale - HarbingerPVP
Changes are mostly cosmetic but we'll begin working on the Stamina / Energy system, which forms the basis of all gameplay. You may see some changes to the UI but stamina won't begin to affect your character, yet.

Expect changes to walk speed, meaning you will move a lot slower and have to sprint to get around, costing stamina. This will be the aim of patch v3.4.0.2.

1. All maps except vehicle map have been expanded. We'll continue changing and adding to the maps. Themes are desert and rock, green landscape, and snow. Performance should still be good but let us know if FPS is bad after this update. NO eta on vehicles but it is planned and it occurred to us we could make vehicles have an energy system with unique skills. That's something no other game has done before, we think.

2. Increased conquest map to 5 capture points, up from 3. Score required to win is now 600, up from 300.

3. Rush map now has 8 objectives, with 2 at a time per "phase" for a total of 4 phases. First 2 are hardest to defend but the last 2 are located right in the defending team's spawn point, making it the most difficult to bomb.

4. Stamina system foundation in play. Skills now cost a certain amount of stamina / energy to use, in addition to the ability cooldown timer.

5. New main menu and main theme music. Youtube will have the free version of it online for your infinite 10 hour looping pleasure. Edit update: You can find it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2KBgGMIiOVs Enjoy!

6. Will add the new main theme music to the soundtrack. Be sure to pick it up now because we are going to raise prices on the next addition of music. Get the free upgrades now.

7. Added out of bounds play area. No trying to sneak to the edge of the map!

Community Announcements - [CM] Drestam

Llanero was beaten by the Daevas and has lost his job. Now he’s out for revenge and has summoned Phantonicht from the Hererim Mine. In order to be able to establish a pact between them, Phantonicht demands that he punish four Halloween monsters. When Halloween night comes and an ominous moon shines down on Atreia, Llanero gets an idea about how to make the Daevas fight the monsters for him…

Running: 20/10 to 03/11

Rewards: [Event] Complete Book of Clues, [Event] [Motion Card] Eternal Silence, [Event] Glittering Kinah Box, [Rune] Special Halloween Transformation Contract (66 types) and lots more!

The Monster Raid
How it works:
  • Join the raid via the Abandoned Secret Passage (Elyos) or the Creepy Secret Passage (Asmodians) in Inggison or Gelkmaros.
  • The raid opens each day between 2 PM and 7 PM for Elyos and 1 PM and 8 PM for Asmodians.
  • Defeat the Pumpkin Monster and get a special buff.
  • Talk to Llanero to make the raid monster appear.

The four Halloween monsters

You can vote with your fellow players to make one of the four raid monsters appear:
  • Vampirina, a female vampire who can’t stand the sight of blood.
  • Frankenshock, an unsightly guy with a good heart.
  • Jack Nox, who carries his pumpkin with pride.
  • Frightchamun, a cursed being with a body battered by the passage of the years.
To take part in the voting you’ll need an [Event] Halloween Ballot Paper, which you can get as a free bundle in the AION Shop. The ballot paper is handed to Llanero in the Unearthly Secret Location.

You can get the following rewards:
  • The items [Event] Clue and [Event] Bundle of Consumables drop for all players in the group.
  • As part of the giveaway you can get the items [Event] Complete Book of Clues, [Event] [Motion Card] Eternal Silence, [Event] Glittering Kinah Box and [Rune] Special Halloween Transformation Contract (66 types).
