Shy Monsters (Mutlose Monster) is an asymmetric bluffing game for two players in which a player builds a dungeon and their opponent tries to escape from it.
The Dungeon Master leads a band of shy monsters. Make sure to respect their favourite places in the dungeon, otherwise they will not attack the Hero. The Hero must properly decipher the dungeon’s structure and use its special actions soundly to escape from it alive.
We are continuing to add new functionality and support to Himeko Sutori. Today we announce official support for Chinese, Spanish, and Portuguese. Now more players from around the world can enjoy the game in their native language. If you prefer to play in any of these languages, go ahead and change your preferences from the main menu. And if you notice any problems with the localizations, please let us know so we can improve the game.
As always, thank you very much for your support and for being part of the Himeko Sutori community.
After 12 days of intense competition over six weekends, the two open qualifiers for the KARDS 2021 World Championship have come to an end! We offer our congratulations to the players that qualified; making it to the knockout stage of the World Championship against thousands of competitors is a great feat.
What lies ahead, however, is an even greater challenge: A group stage into a double elimination tournament all with the final goal of being one of four players left standing, earning a free trip to Iceland to compete in the Grand Finals in front of a live audience for the $10.000 prize pool and the title of World Champion!
If I made it, what happens next?
First off, congratulations, you are a hardened soldier and live to fight another day! We will contact you via email with practical information for the next stage of your mission.
The next stage of the tournament is the knockout stage, where we slim the playing field from 128 players to the top 4. We do this by first playing a round robin with 16 groups of 8 players with the top 2 players advancing from each group into a 32 person Double Elimination bracket that will bring us down to the final 4 players.
The round robin will take place during the weekend of 23rd and 24th of October, with 3 rounds being played on day 1 and 4 rounds being played on day 2. This means that even if a player ends up 0-3 after day 1, they still have a chance to make it through if they play well during the second day.
The double elimination bracket will be played during the weekend of 30th and 31st of October. On the Sunday, October 31st we will broadcast all the decider matches for who makes it to Iceland, so make sure to tune in to some of the highest stakes KARDS games so far.
Important: If you qualified, please make sure your account has an up to date email associated with it so we are able to contact you with details on the next stage. This will require action from your side as the remainder of the World Championship will be played outside the client.
Drawing show
On Friday, October 22nd at 16:00 GMT we will do a live drawing show for all the groups. The show will be broadcast live on Twitch, Youtube, Facebook and Steam. Make sure you tune in to see what the groups look like.
This will be followed by a steam article with the groups and an update to the World Championship hub showing the groups on Tuesday the 19th of October.
How do I get my rewards from the open qualifiers?
All of you who competed fought valiantly and deserve to be rewarded for your efforts. As was stated, anyone that completed three qualifying sessions in either of the two Open Qualifiers will receive the exclusive 2021 World Championship cardback.
These will be added to eligible accounts before the 31st of October 2021, no further action on your side is needed to claim the cardbacks.
We are extremely excited for the remainder of the World Championship! To make sure you don’t miss a beat, make sure to follow us on social media.
Spirit Island has a new and improved help & feedback system, powered by Helpshift. Use the Help & Feedback button from the in-game or main menu to access FAQs and report problems to us directly in-game.
Online multiplayer is still in development, and is at the private beta stage. We've been previewing it regularly on Spirit Island Saturdays, 2 PM Eastern on our Twitch channel. Tune in to see how it's going!
This update also includes various bug fixes and small improvements, notably:
Quick Play now correctly computes the difficulty for thematic boards when playing with Branch & Claw.
The Powers Long Forgotten fist-sized ember Spirit benefit can now be used at the moment you are deciding what power card to forget.
Fixed a problem where Local Diaspora could push too many Explorers.
Fixed issues with using Undo after flipping a Blight card.
Damage dealt to the land from previous ravages in the same turn is no longer carried over to later ravages.
Fixed a problem with the 2D board style where sometimes strife would not be seen.
Immigration Slows no longer skips High Immigration builds.
Fixed an issue where the game could get stuck if you played no power cards in the Ritual of Terror scenario.
Fixed an issue where the Dahan Insurrection win condition was not always triggering promptly.
Fixed a problem interaction between Bringer of Dreams and Nightmares and Pent-up Calamity.
Gift of Constancy no longer lets you try to reclaim the power card from Aid From Lesser Spirits.
Hey everybody! This is a quick hotfix to solve the execution of some character traits (and other small things).
Fixes
- Traits that reduce the energy cost of cards in your hand, at the start of a turn, are now working as expected - Vanished cards that have been created in the middle of a combat will now display their correct value while checking the vanish pile - Cards generated by items (f.e. Wolfskin Cloak or Searing Dagger) will not lost their attribute modifications when a game desyncs
Balance and adjustments
Thanks to the feedback that we are getting since the launch of the Obelisk Challenge patch, we will begin to adjust some values here and there, improve some things, etc. One of the first changes have to be with the card rewards (and random card generation, f.e. cards like Ammunitions). We have increased the chance to get the upgraded version (blue, yellow or purple) of a card with each Madness level, so the higher the level the higher the chances to get a "rare" card.
As usual, thank you so much for your help, reports and suggestions!
These days, we feel like we should share with you some more redesigned assets of Pharaoh: A New Era (because there are never enough redesigned assets). Since the game postponement, your lovely comments have been very inspiring, and we thought you deserved more regular content! Again, thank YOU so much for being so kind and supportive!
In this part 5, we will discuss and admire beautiful manors. Remember, at this stage of housing, the workforce contribution ends, and the scribes make their appearance.
Common Manors
With a 3x3 dimension, can we still call them common manors? I mean, look at this beauty...
You will need one type of luxury goods to have access to it.
Spacious Manors
Forget it, the previous one was indeed quite common. To unlock this type of housing, all you need is for your inhabitants to die less and in better conditions - thanks to a physician and a mortician.
Elegant Manors
How do you make your manors look elegant in Pharaoh? Well, nothing is more simple. All you need is more entertainment, religion, education, and desirability.
In the end, it’s all about being sensible.
Stately Manors
Speaking of being sensible. These charming manors only require access to 3 gods in your city. It’s a piece of cake, right?

This is a minor update that only affects Steam Big Picture mode and the upcoming Steam Deck. The game now uses the on screen keyboard, and a few tweaks to the controls have been made (the largest being that keypresses now perform actions on release instead of held, with a few exceptions like placing nets/rails). The Linux build is also 64-bit now, the 32-bit build being retired (there are very few people still running a 32-bit linux OS, and it can be tough to get 32-bit builds running on 64-bit linux depending on the OS).
