Hello everyone! We’ve been pretty busy for the last few months working on the City Building update and here is a small recap of what we are doing.

Weather system


Lightning can start a fire or hit something made of metal



We are working on a fire system where flame is able to spread through grass, trees and buildings across the map. It might be an additional challenge for you, but no worries, as we will also add tools to fight it - such as fire brigade and regular villagers. With the right strategy you can use fire for your advantage in battles. Be careful though, as enemies can fire projectiles that can set your buildings or wood walls on fire!

Seasons

Seasons will add a long planning strategy to the game cycle. There is less food production in winter so you should stock some food in advance. Also make sure you have coal to keep your villagers’ homes warm!

Roads

Roads concept, temporary design

We are also working on the road system. It will have an impact on buildings, and have a decorative function as well. We are almost finished with road placement mechanics and soon will start to work on its visuals. We will probably share some road gifs in the next blog post.

Female characters

Villagers will have a random chance to be male or female, making your city more realistic


You will be able to hire female warriors too!

More buildings


Making charcoal will help keep houses warm and cozy during winter

New navigation system

A lot of you have issues with performance in long sessions, and one of the main reasons for that is navigation that we are currently using. So we are rewriting it from scratch for better performance and more possibilities. It will be possible to have bigger maps and bigger battles, but most importantly good FPS to enjoy the game at any stage. Results are pretty good so far, but it still needs more work. We’re also working on fixing navigation behaviour issues.

ROADMAP 2021 update
Our 2021 roadmap is a bit outdated at this moment, as things take more time than we expected. We are still working on the City Building update and it needs more time to get finished. Unfortunately we can not release it this year. And next year after this major update we will work on “Sandbox” and “Magic and Bosses”. When the original 2021 road map is finished we will work on some other big ideas we have for the game before the final release. Stay tuned!

Mictlan: An Ancient Mythical Tale - Anna_Somniar
Did you know that the priests of Mictlantecuhtli had their hair tangled up to look like the beings from the underworld?

In an archeological context, there has been found only one temple that worshipped Mictlantecuhtli, and that is the “Templo de las Calaveras”. It was found in 2013 while excavating the archaeological zone of Tehuacán El Viejo, in the state of Puebla. This temple stands out because it has ornaments made of human skulls embedded on its sidewalls, as well as images of this deity where the shrine once stood, making it one of a kind.

In the iconographic reference, we have several pre-Hispanic and colonial codices where they present the priests of Mictlantecuhtli offering large quantities of blood or performing the self-sacrifice.

Alternatively, in the tonalamatl books such as the codex Cospi, a priest of Mictlantecuhtli is shown offering copal and blood from his ears to a temple dedicated to the deities of the night.

Based on these somewhat limited references, we took some “liberties” to represent this WIP of a priest of Mictlantecuhtli. He stands out for his “dirty” look, possibly due to the arduous religious rites associated with human sacrifice, with his tangled up hair in honor of his tutelary deity, and with a feather ornament that holds his long dreadlocks, as well as a clay container, where human hearts were collected.

As a final touch, in a more fantastic twist, he carries a scepter with a human skull, emphasizing his relationship with the fearsome god of death.

- battles don't continue anymore if players are defeated and ally AI are still alive (unless the fight was prompted by an ally)
- fixed a bug where items (and other objects) didnt get removed properly and would still be visible, but not interactable
- decreased wait time after 'air cutter' and 'hurricane cutter'
- greatly increased damage of 'air cutter' and 'hurrican cutter'
- increased xp gained from bones from 50 -> 60
- fixed a bug where you would stay stuck inside a bridge even after reloading the game
- criticals now always deal at least 1 damage even if blocked
- fixed a bug where starting another game after beating the lich will imeediately suck you into the final fight
- fixed a bug where magic exceeded max magic when unequipping gear that gave extra magic
- fixed a visual bug where projectiles wouldnt be cleared when an enemy/player got defeated in battle
- balanced some enemies
