We can't wait to keep on making Tribes of Midgard evolve, one update at a time, and want to thank you for your continuous support and feedback. It means the world to us. We'd love to know your thoughts, and invite you to join our Discord to let us know what you think!
Lastly, stay tuned for our Valhalloween event which kicks off next Tuesday, October 12th. 🎃
Fall weather is settling in here in Prague and while we are excited about all the pretty colors of the trees around us, hot tea and fluffy sweaters, we are even more excited about bringing you news about the 1.8 update!
Exploration is getting a ton of love this update, but we are keeping lots of it to give to our wonderful creators too!
As a creator, have you ever wondered why your multiplayer game is sometimes a little bit laggy? The thing is that all the scripting within the game needs to be crunched by the server first and then synchronized with all the players, so that no cheater can break your game. However, we have put our heads together and came up with a new feature - Client Scripting! What does that mean? For selected Game Logics, it is possible to create locally executed script, which does not have to be synchronized with the server so it runs much faster. This is especially useful for creating a nice and reactive User Interface. You can now even create client-run 2D games within UI and it will not ruin your performance.
However, as with everything, there are a few things to keep in mind while using this feature. First of all, not all Game Logics are suitable for this kind of scripting. And second, there are also certain limitations to the script itself, which is not as extensive as the server script and has a limited set of instructions. We hope you will find Client Scripting useful and can't wait for your feedback!
That's it for this week and we'll be in touch with more news about 1.8 soon!
BUG FIX - addressed a case where the second of two Concealed Caverns follow-up events triggering at the same time could be skipped if the player clicked the mouse quickly as the second event starts.
BUG FIX - Mark of a Champion now ignores Sap when it calculates its bonus. One place that came up is while facing Seraph the Temperant.
BUG FIX - fixed incorrect spawn locations sometimes being chosen for Remnant Host, Legion of Wax, Bog Chrysalis, etc. The incorrect situations came up when 2 or more units in the room died on the same turn.
BUG FIX - For The Greater Good can no longer be cast in the Pyre room.
BUG FIX - fixed Cheater's Hand softlock when zero cards are drawn. This is an extremely rare situation.
BUG FIX - fixed a rare softlock with Bog Chrysalis' synthesis effect in certain situations.
BUG FIX - cards no longer get stuck on the screen when going back to the main menu during card animations like Rector Flicker's reform ability.
BUG FIX - fixed rare issue where visual effect particles were bright pink.
BUG FIX - fixed keyboard/controller input issues when you resume straight into post-battle victory from the main menu.
TEXT - changed The Last Divinity's Purify text to say: "Removes all damaging debuffs from this unit at the end of turn." This more accurately describes how it works.
TEXT - fixed two cards with the same name in German - Fortify / Reinforce. Fortify became "Rüsten."
TEXT - fixed German mistranslation of "imp" on description text for Imp-in-a-box. Now "kobold."
ENGINE - fixed a variety of memory leaks when going in and out of battle.
ENGINE - changed how certain types of data load so that there isn't a long load time if you resume a run on the map and then immediately open a unit banner. Or when you resume a run into the victory UI at the end of battle and then open a unit card pack. Now this data loads during the black load screen instead of just before it's needed.
This update will be coming to our other platforms in the future. As soon as we are able to get builds tested and certified.
Edit - Oct 18, 2021 - the change to fix spawn locations sometimes being incorrect for Bog Chrysalis caused other unexpected problems and was reverted in version 12912.

Bud Spencer & Terence Hill - Slaps And Beans - Trinity Team
In Slaps And Beans 2 the combat system and its progression will be enhanced and improved. This will be done through the use of new environmental interactions (especially with Terence), improved combos to create single or co-operative attacks, and the addition of new power-ups. Here are a few examples:
Improved Terence's dodging ability. When Terence dodges a hit near a wall or obstacle the enemy will be confused and vulnerable.
Terence will be able to use his speed to "lock" hordes of enemies and lead them towards Bud or a trap.
New power-ups will temporarily increase players' abilities and certain gameplay parameters (strength, speed, damage resistance, time running speed, etc.).
This update adds the ability to name NPCs within the map editor, in order to not have to tinker with the level config file.
BETA 16: - added the ability to setup enemy names in the map editor - replaced more placeholder icons with proper ones - turkish and russian map editor text localization update
As a reminder, you can opt into the 'mapeditor' branch at any time. It is currently in the BETA test phase, so expect issues. If you wanted to try your hand at making maps - now would be a good time, as you would not only make your own content, but also help with reporting bugs and giving feedback.
