Teravit - CyberStep

Hello everyone! In this blog, we will be introducing Teravit through the eyes of the developers to provide insight on the in-game system and contents, how it is created, and other interesting details about the game.

Teravit is a brand new multiplayer open-world RPG released by CyberStep. After 3 years in development, Global alpha testing will begin in October 12th, 2021. The development team continues to work on the vast amount of development items for testing, and are working together to further improve the quality of the game.

While Teravit can be classified as a sandbox game in the same genre as titles such as Minecraft, a major difference is the detailed and beautiful presentation of the vast landscapes that can be found in the world.
This is because of the voxel engine which we’ve invested a majority of our time to develop. We’ll go into more detail about that later, but for now, we would like to show you what kind of sceneries you can find in the world of Teravit.

Teravit is combination of the fantasy-like West, mixed with the romantic atmosphere of the East. It’s comprised of vast deserts and wildernesses, jungles and tropical areas, savannas, lava fields, ancient civilizations, floating continents and more, totaling more than 10 different zones. No matter how much you explore the vast world, you can never get enough of the beautiful sceneries that await you.
With that said, we would like to show you some in-game screenshots of Teravit!

First, a landscape full of colorful flowers. This is called the “Flower Zone”.

Deep in the jungle is an enormous tower.

A Japanese-style house can found in a field of Japanese pampas grass and cherry blossoms. It’s the scenery of a Japanese field.

Resting under a cherry blossom tree. This one is a personal favorite.

A sacred water temple with the setting sun behind it. Could there be something hidden inside?

A pyramid can be seen far beyond the wilderness.

Pass through the jungle to find a mysterious ruin.

A mysterious object lies between the totem poles.

As illustrated by this image, Teravit has huge underground and indoor fields.

These are just some of the sceneries you can find in Teravit.
Teravit is a randomly-generated, super vast world in which you can explore the various landscapes described above. As a regular feature of the sandbox genre, you can also destroy anything you want and build anywhere you want as well.

Teravit is still under development, but we will continue to push forward at a greater pace so that users can everyone can enjoy it as soon as possible!
We’re looking forward to your participation in the Alpha Test! With your opinion and feedback, we will be able to further development Teravit and take game to another level.

Finally, we would like to introduce some concept art that were created in the early stages of Teravit’s development. It’s a voxel representation of a boxy garden filled with as much of the world as possible. We have been developing Teravit for a long time since the initial concept art and we are relieved and excited to finally be able to announce our game with confidence.

In the next update, we would like to talk about the voxel art that makes up the world of Teravit, touching on some of the technical aspects of the voxel engine we mentioned at the beginning!

Turing Complete - Stuffe
In this patch the decoder level was changed and moved to an earlier more natural place. Your old decoder solution will still work but some of it might be outside the level boundaries. If this bothers you, just create a new circuit and solve it again.

Also I apologize for deleting the byte subtractor component the other day without a prior heads up, since it must have broken some players circuits. That wont happen again without notice.

Steel Division 2 - [EUG] Gal Marcel Bigeard
Well, hello there!

As you might have noticed, we recently released a new expansion for our other strategy game - Wargame: Red Dragon - which in the past few months took some time out of our schedule. Now we are fully back in the Steel Division 2 saddle.

This means a couple of things, one of them being that we are going to return to our original rhythm of one blog post each week - hoorah! It also means that we can finally spend time on that one request that seems to keep cropping up: maps.

Read on!

A development disclaimer

All right - we hear you loud and clear. New maps are wanted by the Steel Division 2 community. We got some interesting news for you. But, before we continue, a little explanation of why we are not churning out new environments every other week.

Simple reason: it’s damn hard, with the amount of time needed to design, create, balance, fine tune, and produce a map being rather considerable. This especially rings true for a small independent team here at Eugen Systems.

And because we need to make sure our maps play well, taking into account a wide variety of factors from the number of players to types of cover, it’s easier said than done to just flip out a map editor or an existing map.

However, this doesn’t mean we don’t want to provide you with more environments and cool locations. Leading us to…

Incoming new map: Kostritza

Rejoice! A new map is in the works: Kostritza. Full disclosure: this map is actually not “new” since it was the very first environment designed for Steel Division 2. It served as a testbed for terrain placement, lightning models, elevation, that sort of thing. It was also used as the scene and setting for our first trailers. However, we never actually featured Kostritza in-game, as the intent of this map was mostly to serve as eye candy, not rigorous online battles.

Kostritza is a large clearing surrounded by woods & marshes, North of the Orsha-Kieve highway. A sector already featured in several existing maps (Bobr, Krupki, ...). You can see also see the village mentionned on the Beresina Army General campaign's map.

We took Kostritza off the shelf, dusted it off, and are now getting it ready for public consumption. Our designers are currently reworking Kostritza to be featured as a small 1v1 public and server-locked “tactical” version map coming soon.

DISCLAIMER: this is the ORIGINAL version, currently being reworked, NOT the final one.

More maps variants, and one cancellation

That’s not all. We are also working on creating new variants of the Tannenberg 10v10 map. By limiting the playable zones on parts of the vast battlefield, we’ll be able to make different, smaller versions. This will introduce some additional variety in the map rotation. More details will come soon!

There is one sad note: after much time spent on our long-awaited urban map - known as Wołomin - we have decided to lay this fickle beast to rest and cancel it. Why? From the many (many) tests that we ran on it, the very early game, the first 10 minutes, were reasonably fun, but afterward… not so much. With the central town destroyed, players would find themselves in a void where once city blocks stood, now an expansive killing field with infantry all but assured to be slaughtered in the open while crossing it. From Phase B onward, this tactical wasteland, plus an increasing influx of troops, made the map lose most of its fun and quickly delve into a boring grind.

A solution we pondered for some time was to replace the “city block” terrain element with a new “ruins” one (with different gameplay values still usable by infantry), but this would have required an extraordinary amount of work, not only on Wołomin but also on all existing Steel Division 2 maps. A resource sink, difficult to justify as our small team.

See you around

At ease, commander. We’ll be back with our regular schedule from this point onwards. See you next week with fresh details on an additional batch of (new) balance changes affecting some of our Allied divisions!

Let us know what you think. Do this through our Steam forums and Eugen forums, or check our (Facebook and Twitter). Looking for an online game? Visit the kick-ass Discord server or Reddit page.

See you on the battlefield!

After Shadows - tyasergej
Attention, attention, attention! Gertruder! Achtung!

At Count Dracula's behest, our tame -- and undead -- gnomes have risen from their little coffins and conjured up a new demo version of After Shadows. We don't have enough pony skins to describe all the changes (we don't use paper, preferring all natural and beautiful), so we'll make only theses remarks:

* The demo version fully supports the controller. You no longer have to break your fingers on the keyboard, trying to hit the right button.

* The dark monster has become more charismatic and dangerous, like Hannibal Lecter. He's not so easy to get away from anymore. Yum, yum, yum...

* Improved HUD interface. Now you know exactly where to look and what to do.

* Completely fixed the operation of the ropes. No more swinging like a fool and jumping past.

* Fixed bugs in training. From now on, you won't accidentally sell your soul to Satan!

*Visual is now as beautiful as the Mona Lisa. Only without Mona. And the Lisa. And it has nothing to do with anything!

* And lots of other things.

Turn on the demo and enjoy the innovations. Otherwise, our tame, undead gnomes will be put to rest forever in the nearest tree!

Unyielding - MercernaryMage
Added Willem and Horizon (next Willem story)
Added The Raft (Fhan version only, see below, with art!)
Added Blackfire version of The Carnival's End

Before, it was possible to get stuck in Sandy Coast, if you failed both the shrine minigame and the plant minigame. Now, if both are failed, you default to the raft story of how the Shooters reach Ran's island.
Crossout - XO_Team

In this minor update, we invite you to try out the new PvP-mode “Sabotage”, in which teams try on the roles of attackers and defenders. Familiarize yourself with the main rules and features of the mode and go for it!

PvP brawl “Sabotage”

https://youtu.be/DiQH2FaeU4U
Attention! The mode will be available from October 7 to October 20 inclusive!
Main rules and features:
  • “Sabotage” is a team PvP battle held in “6 vs 6” format
  • Armoured vehicles from 6000 to 7000 PS can participate in the battle.
  • The battle consists of 3 rounds. That team that wins two out of three rounds wins the battle. The teams switch roles with each round.
  • One of the teams plays the role of defenders. Their objective is to prevent the enemy team from planting and detonating a bomb on one of the bases.
  • The objective of the attacking team is to plant and detonate a bomb on one of the two bases.
    • As the battle begins, the bomb appears near the place where the attacking team appears.
    • Any player from the attacking team can pick up a bomb or drop it in order to pass it to the teammates.
    • If this player is destroyed, the bomb remains at the place of his destruction, and other team members can pick it up.
    • The bomb can be planted only on the territory of one of the bases.
    • After the bomb is planted, a timer starts, and the defenders must defuse the bomb before the time expires.
    • The bomb can only be defused by one player at a time. For all other defenders this ability is not available until the player interrupts the defuse sequence or is destroyed.
    • The vehicle of the player who defuses the bomb heats up and becomes extremely vulnerable. The task of the teammates is to protect this player during this time and not let the opponents destroy or push him away from the bomb.
  • The battle can end with one of the following results:
    • If the bomb has not been planted and the players of one of the teams are completely destroyed, the team with the remaining surviving players wins.
    • If the bomb has not been planted, and the round time is over, the defending team wins.
    • If the bomb has been planted and has not been defused in the allotted time, the victory goes to the attacking team.
    • If the bomb has been planted, but later it has been defused, then the victory goes to the defenders team.
    • If the bomb has been planted, all attackers have been destroyed, but the bomb has exploded, then the victory goes to the attacking team.
  • The battles are held on the “Factory” map, specifically adapted to this mode.

  • Added a new animated video in the “Enemy of my enemy” season’s theme, which is played when you enter the game.
  • Improved the physical model of the cannon “ZS-33 Hulk”.
  • Improved the visual appearance of the shotgun “Parser”.
  • Improved the model of the part “Backend”.

  • Fixed a bug where the “Blank cover” hubcap could fall into the standard and ST “Buggy wheels”.
  • Improved a number of texts, descriptions and icons.
