We are currently testing numerous facial animation techniques with a small group of voice actors.
What you see here is all done manually, adjusting each muscle of the face, moving it accordingly to the expressions and speech of the dialogue.
Another technique we are testing is full performance capture, which means we can record body and face expressions as well as audio in real-time, this method is extremely difficult and costly so, until we launch our Kickstarter campaign, we can only proceed to create most of the face animations manually.
These are just experiments, we're constantly trying to achieve better results in order to arrive to our finalized version of the game in the future years.

We will present it to our community at the launch of our Kickstarter campaign. But in order to launch the campaign, we need at least 20k people to register to the page. It literally takes a minute to do so, but it would mean the world to us.
Many of you clamored for a way to start the game with your desired character that wasn't so much RNG. So it shall be done! When you create a new character in Everpixel Tactics, you can now also select that character's background as well as up to 3 "traits". Traits like "corpulent" and "beefcake" can drastically alter the capabilities of your characters and represent yet another way to specialize your mercenaries. Moreover, certain traits are available only to certain backgrounds...
So if you've ever wanted to play an alcoholic wereween or an obese necromancer, you'll have your chance when the Halloweener update rolls out on October 9th!

Hello friends! For the past few months I've been working on a global update. Due to the scale of the changes in the project, it was impossible to release updates to the game. Finally, I can show you what I was working on:
- Strategic game mode on the global map (You can attack the enemy, attack its bases, capture entire provinces, soon you will be able to create fort-posts, extract rare resources, create logistics and more!) - 9 new locations for random battles (battles on the global map) - New civilian transport, armored vehicle - Customization of the player's faction (flag, army uniform, police uniform, faction name) - New building "Headquarters" - New building "Repair and service point" (for the repair and production of vehicles) - New research tree (vehicle production) - Formation and delivery of supplies for the player's mobile units (through the "Headquarters" building) - New minimap, fix hud - Fixed some bugs at the location "City" - Improved interface (added icons) - Fixed many small bugs (in AI behavior, visual errors, etc.) - Fixed selection of units - New transport (SUVs, armored personnel carriers) - Ability to install a machine gun turret on an armored personnel carrier - Improved weapon guidance system (stationary guns) - Due to the number of changes, all old saved games are not supported.
P. S.: The strategic game mode on the global map has not been completed yet, but the main work has been done. The system of outposts has not been created (in place of the locations captured by the player). There are no minimaps on random battles. Some text is not localized (English only now). This is a fun little update with some new ragdoll settings for your entertainment. Watch enemies explode across the battle with the Extreme ragdoll setting, or watch them float away with Anti-Grav.
We haven't done devblogs for a long time, but now, on the "A celebration of upcoming games" on Steam - it was a sin not to do it. The game did not appear on the main page of the celebration but its still ahead. Advertising is a matter of the future.
Now we are slowly approaching the demo and it should correspond to the game, so now, in addition to the main mechanics, we devote a lot of time to post processing and graphics in general. Colors, lights and shadows are literally the most important part of a game's look. You can make beautiful models and textures, but if, for example, they are in a poorly lit scene, no one will be able to notice their beauty. Also, at the last moment, we thought that we want more colors, therefore, the action of the game will take place in the fall, when all the nature acquire warm colors.
