A Brand New Update is now available for DashBored!
This update is mainly an improvement update, meaning that it seeks to clean up and update a lot of old content in DashBored. Even so, a LOT has changed. Let's take a look!
Improved Face Sprites!
Though the Face Sprites have been slowly changed over the years, many of them have remained old and unedited. A lot of them were rather ugly looking. Now, many characters have had their faces updated to be both more expressive, and more on-model! Take a look! Almost all of the main characters have been affected in some way, as well as many of the background characters as well!
Improved Battle Backgrounds!
Every single old Battle Background has been remade to fit the resolution of the game properly! If I do say myself, it makes a big difference in how battles look.
Improved Dialogue!
A lot of old dialogue was somewhat stale and outdated, now, many important scenes have been totally overhauled to be more lore-friendly and less sloppy. I hope you'll enjoy checking out these improved scenes!
Improved Overworld Sprites!
Even More Characters' overworld Sprites have been improved or totally redone! Some Characters that have redone include:
Eloise
Lord Occidere
Doch Sneg
Madame Lochhart
Rhassago
Final Boss
Old Men NPCs
And a lot more! Have fun checking out these characters in a new crystal clear vision!
Brand New Music!
A whole collection of new and improved music has been added! Areas with new music include:
Night Meeting with Midori
Russian Hideout
Undersyde
M&J area
Precipice
While Driving
New Boss Music
New Special Enemy Music
And more on top of that!
Improved Area Graphics!
A few places have had their tilesets improved, but most notably Gourdemoore and Undersyde! Check out these places with a fresh coat of paint!
Other Changes!
Overhauled Blackout Roke to be more interesting
Blackout Roke is no longer a random event, and must be found manually
A brand new hidden boss has been added, complete with a new achievement for beating it!
New animations for Willie G.
Allowed players to leave the Temple boss area, preventing softlocks
Redone all water sprites
Sped up water animation to be smoother
Entrance of The Garden has been made more visually interesting
Certain Parallax backgrounds have been redone and improved
Tons of old miscellaneous tiles have been redone
Greatly buffed chainsaw, but made it more expensive
Bug Fixes
Fixed areas where Nic could walk into the sky
Fixed areas missing battle backgrounds
Fixed a few areas where audio was too loud (This is still incomplete, if you find areas with poorly mixed audio, please let me know)
On the topic of Mechana...
For those of you looking forward to DashBored 2: Mechana, Development is moving forward smoothly. I don't have a crazy demo video to show off right now, but I've got a lot of really cool stuff that I can't wait to show off in the near future! Take a look at these screenshots! (Click to Enlarge)
I hope you all enjoy everything this update has to offer! I really gave it my all, and I'm very happy with the results. As always, if you run into any bugs, or just have some feedback, feel free to let me know, I'm always happy to hear from you.
I fixed a few minor issues throughout the game, but the big ticket item in this update is a Help, Stuck button in the menu. The game already sends me error reports and telemetry, but if you hit a situation where you think its broken (but isn't spewing errors), or you feel a room is impossible or something really weird or broken looking happened, click the Help, Stuck button. All you have to provide is a short description of the issue. If you give me contact info, I'll ping you to get you unblocked and with status on the fix, but that's totally optional!
Hope this helps anyone who's hitting slightly-less-bad-than-gamebreaking issues, and (as always), I hope you're having a lot of fun on the journey!
Hi all, thanks so much for checking out Woodland Empire. I've noticed a few folks experiencing crashes. I think there is more than one place, but I was able to identify one and fix it:
If you had an animal selected, then it died, then you clicked on another animal, the game would crash. This has been fixed.
There is an outstanding issue where water stops flowing which I am addressing now.
Bug Fixes - Fixed light bar on squad - Fixed light bar on Rescue truck - Fixed light bar on Command car - Fixed interaction issues - Adjusted map code as an attempted fix for prevent it from getting stuck Misc Changes - Adjusted hit box of fire - Updated default keybinding of map to N
