You might've heard by now that Dead Estate is releasing on Steam on October 19th. Dead Estate is a project that my buddies and I have been working on since around August or September last year. We originally made it as a submission for Newgrounds's annual Halloween contest and we ended up getting first place!

Since then, we partnered up with 2 Left Thumbs to

1. SIGNIFICANTLY expand the game, and
   
2. Publish it on Steam along with a few other platforms! (maybe Nintendo Switch eventually)

The game is releasing in just a few short weeks, so to celebrate we're gonna be hosting an art contest with prizes! You can draw WHATEVER YOU WANT as long as it fits into the rules below!

Additionally, we're gonna split this thing into two categories: SFW and NSFW. Both categories will have pretty much the same prizes, although there are a couple of additional rules for the NSFW category.

RULES & GUIDELINES

1. Submit your piece to the Newgrounds Art Portal with the tag "dead-estate-art-contest" if it's an SFW submission or "dead-estate-nsfw-contest" if it's NSFW by October 15th.
   
2. Your submission has to depict something or someone from Dead Estate. (big surprise, I know)
   
3. Anything 18+ must be submitted to the NSFW category, not the SFW category.
   
4. You can't make an edit of an SFW piece and submit it to the NSFW category or vice versa. One or the other!
   
5. Keep NSFW submissions tasteful. Basically don't depict anything illegal or revolting.

It's probably worth clarifying that .GIF animations are allowed!
Now here's the good stuff:

SFW prizes:
1st place - $100 + Steam key for Dead Estate + Your submission will be included as a trading card on Steam!
2nd place - $50 + Steam key
3rd place - $25 + Steam key
4th place - Steam key
5th place - Steam key

NSFW prizes: (these are basically the same as the SFW prizes minus the "your work as a trading card" reward)
1st place - $100 + Steam key
2nd place - $50 + Steam key
3rd place - $25 + Steam key
4th place - Steam key
5th place - Steam key

Hello!

I am back with yet another feature update for Rocket Cave Adventure. This update includes the base work for the first boss, some changes to how the skill tree and your weapons work. There are also a few new objects added!

Features:

• Added a boss encounter on the 5th floor
  
• Added entity: Boss - Giant Skull
  
• Reworked skill: [Lasershot] - now, this skill can be fired instantly without a warmup. The projectile lasts until it hits something and has a gravity component.
  
• Reworked skill: [Auto Turret] - now, this skill has a warmup
  
• Added skill: [Lasershot - Kill trigger] - On enemy kill, there's a % chance to get +1 charge for [Lasershot]
  
• Added skill: [Level up - Cooldown reset] - On level up, +1 charge for all skills
  
• Added entity: Heart - On pickup, gain +1 health. % chance to be found in chests
  
• Added entity: Gold ore - This ore spawns on the ceiling of most levels, break it to gain some gold
  
• Added entity: Skull - break this object for a chance at gold
  
• Now when a flying skull is killed, they turn into a breakable skull
  
• In between levels, if you have a skill point, a random skill is chosen from the skill tree to unlock. You no longer have a choice in what skill unlocks. This was done to speed up the time in between levels.
  
• You can no longer unlock, upgrade, or reroll skills during a floor. You must wait for in-between floors.
  
• Added a selector in the skill tree to show what skill is currently being viewed

Balance changes:

• All skills cost more to upgrade - the player used to have too much excess gold
  
• Slightly changed the way player health is displayed

Bugs fixed:

• The skill tree did not appear correctly when initially appearing

This version of the game is a release version as opposed to a dev version. This means the game should load faster and run smoother. Please leave all feedback in the Community hub of this game or in the official Subreddit or Discord!

• When the player first starts the game, the Tutorial video start screen will now automatically appear.
  
• The first time the Tutorial video plays, it is unskippable.

• The Day count should no longer be incorrect when starting a new game after a previous session closed suddenly.
