New Editor objects!

What is new?

Added terraforming events to the Editor - change water and ground levels on a timer, after a city quest completion or when delivering anything to a station! Here is our Editor terraforming guide.

What is fixed?

  • Minor bugfixes.

Time-limited contest!

With the introduction of new mechanics to the Editor we announce the start of a new level-design competition starting September 1st — Terraforming Level Of The Month:

  • Learn and implement new Activable objects and Scenarios in your levels
  • Submit your creations to Train Valley 2 Workshop
  • Three levels will be awarded Steam Wallet funds prizes at the end of September
  • Levels without new mechanics will be reviewed and awarded separately on a weekly basis

Game publishing related developments.

Our friends META Publishing having previously assisted with many under-the-hood processes for Flazm Interactive project Time Loader have recently offered a helping hand with Train Valley games — and we have come to an agreement to join our efforts.
What does that mean for our community? This cooperation changes little for our players - LPT contests, weekly and monthly level reviews, more upcoming content for Train Valley 2 will arrive right on schedule :)

We are looking forward to your feedback and hopefully very few bug reports :) See you in a bit, friends!

Age of Empires® III (2007) - elizabeth.solanki

Effective September 1, 2021, the multiplayer service for the 2007 version of Age of Empires III: Complete Collection currently on Steam will no longer function. The critical factor driving this change is that the ESO domain on which this multiplayer service currently resides is no longer under Microsoft’s control and it will be repurposed by its new owners on that date.

To continue accessing the multiplayer services: We have created a patch that points to a new backend owned by Microsoft that you must manually install prior to September 1, 2021. Due to the age of the title, we have no way to automatically apply the patch for you and you will have to come to our website download linked below to apply the patch manually. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

The AgeIIIESOPatch_Full will allow you to access multiplayer services without routing through the deprecated ESO service. It is important to install the patch for additional stability and reliability in the multiplayer environment and avoid issues accessing multiplayer matches. Download and install the patch manually using the steps below:

DOWNLOAD PATCH FILE

    Installation Steps:
  1. Download AgeIIIESOPatch_Full and then run the application.
  2. Click Patch Game File in the Age of Empires III Patcher window that opens.
  3. Click Open to start the installation in the default Age of Empires 3 folder.
    • If Age of Empires III is not installed in the default location, navigate to the folder where age3.exe is saved.
  4. Age of Empires III Patcher will show that the game is patched.
  5. When Age of Empires III is opened again, a User Account Control prompt for age3.exe will appear.
  6. Click Yes to start the game.

Infinite Dungeon Crawler - dennis
In the pursuit of always trying to make a better game, I have made some significant changes in this update.

I ended up re-working many aspects of my graphics and animation engine and eliminated several memory leaks. The result is what I think a more stable game with fewer crashes. I also was able to improve the character and monster resolution, especially at the lower GRAPHICS QUALITY settings as well as improve performance and reduce lag (especially in the dungeon world) by improving lighting efficiency from torches. In my own play-testing on a memory-limited low-end device, I previously was lucky if I could make it through one battle without a crash. Now I can typically make it through an entire world without one. I can't promise no crashes, but I am hoping that everyone will see fewer of them.

I added a few new monsters: the DEATH KNIGHT and the YETI WARRIOR and YETI SHAMAN. The Death Knight is an undead, fallen Paladin. They are heavily armored and found with groups of skeletons in all worlds starting at level 5. They are very capable fighters and have many abilities similar to Paladins (but unholy versions). Yetis (both Warriors and Shaman) are found in The Frozen Expanse expansion pack, and encountered at level 3 and above. Yeti Warriors use a stone-tipped spear and Yeti Shaman use an ice staff, and both are good at knocking over opponents. They also have an icy breath. Beware when Yetis start to howl, for this will provide a boost to their courage and fervor, and each subsequent howl stacks further boosting their stats.

I made a significant change to the XP system. In my play-testing, I found that around the level 10-12 range, parties were gaining roughly one level per world, and this was never my intention. So I have reduced the XP earned for exploring by quite a bit and lowered the XP gained from killing monsters by a fair amount. The result should be that it will take delving into about 3-5 worlds to gain a subsequent level. I know this decision might be controversial for some, but it was never my intention for level progression to be so rapid. This won't change the difficulty of the game. It will just change how long it takes before gaining another level. This will not change the current level of any existing character, nor will it change how much XP they currently have. It will just change how much they earn from this point on.

You may also notice that world-generation will take a little longer than before. This is related to some of the graphics engine changes I made, where generated images are now saved to disk immediately after generation instead of at the first game save (either manual or auto). The benefit is that subsequent game saves will be much quicker.

There is a whole list of other changes and bug fixes (which includes both build 48 and 50). I keep a running list here:

One last note: Steam is good about automatically updating game content, but if you ever see an update notice and your build # (down in the lower-left corner of most screens) doesn't match, check your settings for the game in Steam and make sure updates are turned on. One trick I've found to force it to update is to go to the game listing, then MANAGE, then GAME PROPERTIES. Under LOCAL FILES click on the button for VERIFY INTEGRITY OF GAME FILES... I've found that that will force the update to the latest.
Jerma's Big Adventure - worblir
Attention Jermamites

No more pushover raptors. PSYCHO mode will be the ultimate Jerma-related gamer challenge. Coming soon.

I'm working on a larger update to the game that will add a new difficulty mode called PSYCHO that will expand on the enemy AI to make them more aggressive (no more pushover raptors) alongside at least one new achievement related to the new difficulty mode.

I'll also be messing around with some of the visuals and probably a few other things to give the PSYCHO mode the right vibe. The above ground region will especially be given a new distinct look in the PSYCHO mode, at the very least.

DELAY ANDY: I need a bit more time on this but it's still coming soon.

Also, as said in the credits of the game, I will be working on a behind-the-scenes video for Jerma's Big Adventure which will reveal a lot of details and secrets and explain what drove me to make this thing. That'll be uploaded on my youtube channel: https://www.youtube.com/worblir

More updates can be found on the discord server: https://discord.com/invite/gnKWbCxZeg

Also, thanks for playing my game! This was a lot more attention than I was expecting and it's been fun to see people's reactions to this overkill meme game.
