"More general QoL for everyone! Ships now stop when they don't have a salvaging license in a scrapyard, gems now have a purpose, and we've added a 'stealthy' swiftness so that you can tell your ships more safely to fly somewhere with minimal attack problems."

It's been pointed out to us that sending a 2 slot iron ship to mine for 4h in (1:1) without it being in any danger doesn't feel balanced and we agree. They'll need to be at least a little bit on par with ships in the area or you'll have to use an escort to protect them."

Release Notes - 2021-08-31

Attention, Generals!

Today’s release brings a reworked version of the impending defeat popup on Dominion maps, an update for the “ranking“ tab in Dominion game rounds and a list of bug fixes to Call of War!

We reworked the popup that appears to inform players on Dominion maps when a defeat is impending, to include information that is more valuable to you than just a list of provinces you have not conquered yet. You will be able to see who meets the victory requirements already and until when you have to prevent the defeat, or the opponents win.

The bug fixes of this release fix an issue with wrong travel times in tooltips, an issue that prevented ranged units from immediately opening fire when moving under certain circumstances, make sure that the AI doesn’t send units on long detours when stepping in for a player and many more.

Dark Fracture - Error 404

One of the challenges of making a first-person horror adventure as an indie developer is not falling into the trap of becoming "just another indie horror on Steam". We believe that the solution relies on two keywords: quality and authenticity. How did we plan to implement them? Let's start explaining from the latter.


Have you ever wondered why the protagonists of many indie first-person horror games never actually meet other human characters during their adventures? The reason is simple: humans are complicated beings to represent digitally. While the appearance and behavior of fantastical creatures can be shaped in any way the developer desires, a human that doesn't behave or appear as such inevitably ends up looking uncanny. That is why most developers choose to introduce characters through diaries, audio logs, radio communications, and so on. However, we have decided to take the risk.

Some time ago, during the Reddit AMA, we revealed that Dark Fracture will not be your typical indie horror and actually has extra characters present as NPCs for our protagonist, Edward, to interact with. A facility like the body farm, albeit unique, needs more than just Edward to be run — which means he won't be the sole employee. Colleagues, however, won't be the only characters Edward will meet - take a look at this mysterious figure that wanders around the compound 👇

While there is still a lot of work to do before we will be able to call Dark Fracture a high-quality game, we can confidently say that the bar has raised significantly since Dark Fracture: Prologue. 3D models and textures are being improved, and we have even started using mocap and lipsync technologies to make animations smoother. As the integration of certain alphabets is particularly complicated and the development of the complete version of Dark Fracture takes priority over updating the Prologue, the localization update release will take a couple of months.

This update brings the last version of the modding template which we think was causing issue to create mods with custom weapons. It also brings a major change to custom mod loading and should greatly improve the process of connection to a match.

  • Updated modding template
  • Load mod before attempting to connect to a game to prevent bugs occurring when mods wasn't fully loaded
