Hi everyone,

it's time for a new update and this here is about the trait and the expectation system for the unique colonists.

Traits
Every colonist can start with 3 or less traits and the main purpose of them is to give your colonists some special characteristics. They can impact the mood, the behavior and can allow to give you some special options for a certain colonist. These traits can influence the:

  • Food consumption (vegetarian, meat eater, cannibal)
  • Max health
  • The increases or decreases of attributes
  • Etc.
At the moment there are 12 different traits in the game which have also already a forbid-function for the combination of conflicting ones.

Examples
Here I have 2 examples which will show how the mechanic looks like at the moment.

Note:
I have pixeled out the other traits because I don't want to spoil you everything :p


Killer
This trait is a very common one in games and it allows you to attack or kill your own colonists.
The effects of this trait are the following:

  • You can attack / kill your own colonists
  • +1 happiness when the colonist kills an animal (max x5)
  • +2 happiness when the colonist kills a human (max x5)


Outstanding Scientist
This trait is has only to do with the technology part of the game and have the following effects:

  • A scientific talent (+15 in research speed)
  • Wants everyday to research something
  • +5 on happiness when a new technology has been researched


Expectations
The expectation system handles the wishes of your colonists and has an influence on the mood when they are not met. Everytime a new colonist joins your community the expectations of every colonist will be increased by 1.

But a new expectation is only applied when the colonists count is higher than the expectations count.
That means for example, if a colonist has already 5 wishes, but you only have 3 colonists left and get a new one, then there is no expectation applied.

At the moment these expectations are implemented:

Own Room
This is the first expectation that every colonist has and it says that your colonists wants a own closed room. A special part of this expectations is, that it causes new demands when it's met. These are:

  • The right room size (12m² wanted)
  • The right room beauty (35.0 wanted)
Note:
12m² is 12 blocks.




Dining Room
This is the second expectation and gets activated for every colonist when the player has 2 or more of them. It's a simple demand which says that your colonists want a dining room with tables which have enough seats for everyone.



Random Expectations
After the player has 3 or more colonists, random expectations will be triggered.
These can be the following:

  • Furniture for their room (from a random count of 1 to 3)
  • A bigger room
  • A more beautiful room


Important note:
For the furniture the "type" of furniture is meant. So if there will be later a more modern kind of bookshelf in the game - this would also met such an expectation.


Overview Update
In addition I have also updated the mood & expectation panel in the colonist overview menu.
It's possible to see the count of open wishes now + the general status in witch direction the mood is going.

Last note: Like I showed in the last update, a negative mood can lead to a mental break down of a colonists which can appear in different behaviors.

Hi everyone,

here is another regular update, the changes:
Brynhildr as an ally now doesn't attack in chapter 1,
add a town event in Aldinne Plain in part 1 and 3, Abigail and Awan (if she is her daughter) can get the Abigail axe,
add Abigail axe to Awan (if she is her daughter) inventory in bonus map,
corrected boss name in objectives for chapter 25,
change two Skeleton to Zombie in chapter 23,
change Brynhildr Hunter Vocation to Noble Archer in part 2 and bonus map,
Sigurd can now wield the Artemis Lance and the boss in chapter 5 drops it,
add the med.aura ability and Artemis Lance to Sigurd in part 2 and bonus map,
small update to the tutorial.

General Changes
  • Added 15 new Achievements
  • Changed the unlock condition of Keeper of Secrets from 5 fusions to 20
  • The "Embrace Change" event now gives a pop up explaining which cards turn into which
  • Made impossible to Upgrade 6 cards that gained nothing out of being Upgraded
  • After triggering a "one time use" passive the icon is now transparent
  • Added a Martial Arts passive: "Mastering the Basics"
  • Now conversations won't give you Passives with no utility at all for your archetype

Balance Changes
  • Second Life boss passive has been nerfed, now it only heals half the boss HP, removing all status charges in the process
  • On the Run also has been nerfed, now it gives 1 Power charge per turn intead of 2, and still gives 1 Hidden
  • Pirate Code now gives 10 gold instead of 5
  • Avalanche is now Consumable
  • Freeze is no longer consumable
  • Vulnerable charges no longer decay when you're damaged, now they decay per turn
  • Added "Always Prepare" to the Monster Hunter passive pool
  • Removed hidden charge from Wait for it
  • Reduced Shadows Strike base power
  • Increased Sabotage base power, made it have 0 Power against Red
  • Made one with the shadows consumable
  • Reduced "Attack at Midnight" extra damage from 30 to 15
  • Reduced Poison Dart base power
  • Increased the base power of Karate Chop, Crane Kick, Tiger Style, Gatling Fits, Reckless Attack, Test of Strength, Perfect Defense base Power and Leg Swipe base Power
  • Reduced Grappling and Fist of Heavens base Power
  • Gave "Lesson Learned" a base Power and made it Defensive
  • Increased Roundhouse Kick critical charge
  • Changed "Ultra Mode" effect, now it gives 5 Immune to damage charges and you lose them right after
  • The Final Door now gives 3 Doom instead of 5
  • Counter Force now applies "Weaken" to the user post clash
  • Changed the following cards to "Green": Grab, Focus
  • Changed the following cards to "Red": Fighting Spirit, Blood Eclipse
  • Changed the following cards to "Blue": Neutralizing Attack, Shadow Strike, Scan Weakness, Static Field, Ice Armor, Cold Winds, Cold Blooded, Drain Energy, Meditation, Ashes to Ashes, Sacrifice to the flame

Bugfixing
  • Fixed resolution resetting when you got back to the main menu
  • Defensive cards no longer trigger Immune to Damage charges, wasting them
  • Fixed instance where you wouldn't correctly unlock the Mutant achievement
  • Removed italics from one of Dangell's dialogues
  • Added a "Back button" to the Upgrade screen
  • Changed an instance where transforming all the status could give you a 0 status charge
