It's more than a month since we have announced the Infection Free Zone on Steam. We're incredibly thankful for all the positive feedback in the community discussions and for adding this game to your wishlist. We didn't expect such an interest for Infection Free Zone, especially considering the fact, that it's not another "Operator" game.

Kickstarter is coming

Our last two campaigns for 911 Operator and 112 Operator went really well. Both were backed by nearly 2000 backers and every single reward was delivered on time. Kickstarter campaigns are a great way to help us with the development early, showing your interest and support. As our backer you usually can:
  • get the base game for less than it will cost on launch day,
  • pay more and obtain some unique privileges like having your idea for a quest implemented into the game,
  • obtain lifetime DLC support for the game. You pay once and every single future DLC for the game is sent your way on the launch day!

Hey everyone!

Exciting news! BLACKTAIL has hit its Alpha milestone!

What does this mean? Essentially, our dev team can now play the main storyline from end to end and many of BLACKTAIL’s main gameplay features are now in place. This creates the foundation that we’ll be continuing to build on, but there’s still a long road to travel. From here, we’ll be polishing and tuning content we want to keep, and adding new art, quests, characters, monsters, music (have you heard the first tracks we’ve recently shared?), and everything else that makes a game. There’s lots to keep the team busy as we work towards Beta.



BLACKTAIL is a full-fledged action-adventure game, so throughout development we’ll be constantly testing our archery combat, both in regular skirmishes and in big boss fights. We’ll be tweaking things like abilities, draw times, arrow range, hitmaps, and everything else to achieve the “easy to learn, hard to master” level of combat gameplay we’re aiming for.

We’re looking forward to sharing more about the game in the near future! What are you most excited about? Let us know in the comments, on Discord, and on social media!

Bardin’s been back in the workshop again. How can I tell? Well, apart from all manner of clanking and hammering at all hours – not exactly conducive to me getting some much-needed beauty sleep – the mountainside’s increasingly strewn with all manner of failed experiments.

Of course, Bardin being Bardin, must of them are weapons, refinements on various designs he’s accumulated over the years. There are handguns, pistols, cog hammers – you know, the usual stuff – but there are also plenty of oddities and all. A self-loading longbow he whipped up for Kerillian. Went down like a lead airship, it did. An axe with some kind of whirring, mechanical teeth, which I think Saltzpyre would have taken to, were it not for the face it kept breaking down and was easily twice the weight of a normal one.

What gets me is when the designs get a little more, shall we say “unusual”? That mechanical pigeon, for example. No idea how Bardin cobbled the thing together, or why, much less how he trained it to drop those bombs while on the wing. Says he was inspired by something the Imperial engineering school whipped up, and that much is true enough. Only the Altdorf engineers use flesh and blood pigeons, rather than cog and steam. Unnatural, is what it is. And for what it’s worth, the flesh and blood ones are rather brighter than whatever horror Bardin hammered together. His just flies in circles, and unerringly drops payloads of rotten fruit on Kruber, regardless of the target it’s been given.

Hang on. Maybe Kruber’s the real target, and everything else is just an excuse? Yeah, I can see that being the case. Funny sense of humour, that dwarf.

Anyway, I can see I’m going to have to have a word. The rest of us need a bit of shuteye every now and then. More than that, Bardin’s been muttering about a much larger project. Won’t say what, of course, secrecy’s like breathing to a dwarf, but I think I’d like to put a stop to it before he cobbles together some cog-driven dragon, or tries to staple bloody great legs to the keep. I mean, it’ll be a spectacle for sure, but it’s one I’d rather watch from a distance and with a solid forty winks behind me, if you know what I mean?

That’s why, by the King’s order, general mobilization of Clans is proclaimed: from 4 p.m. today and until the same hour of next Friday heroes ought to fight in a row of glorious battles. Victories will bring glory and wealth to the Heroes, and peace and prosperity to simple peasants. The attack from 3 directions must be stopped. Howdy!

As part of my ongoing efforts to shape-up the game from its Early Version into its Steam Launch version, I've been working on switching the backgrounds over from a 3D-render style to a more cohesive, 2D, comic-book look.

Three major backgrounds have already been updated with two more presently in production. I'm expecting background production to replace existing backgrounds will continue another 2 weeks, at which time I expect all or nearly-all backgrounds will have been recreated and replaced.

Be sure to join the Discord if want to get even closer looks at all the upcoming changes as we run up to the game's release on Steam. The Discord is also where you can find links to funding the game with donations and it's where I'll be pulling beta testers from when the Steam Build gets closer to launch.

Anyway, it's nice to meet all y'all on Steam and I look forward to continuing to share my updates and progress on this title as the work continues.
