It's been a long time coming. The Soul Recursion demo game loop is complete. The first round of testing is now. We are looking for beta/Alpha testers now. We have a few already and are running the first ever alpha tests. Stay in the loop and become an alpha tester.
Hello Mayor, and welcome to Turntable Town! This level tasks players with building a fully functional city, with plenty of jobs and services, on top of an active turntable! Do you have what it takes to keep your city balanced, or will it tumble over when the music stops? Well, let's take a spin around the town and find out!
Turntable Town is a little short on space, so you'll need to make use of Tinytopia's stackable buildings. Almost all of them are stackable, so you'll have plenty to choose from!
While you will balance the city's happiness, jobs, and services (and the buildings themselves), you'll have all the funds you need to make the city the best it can be!
While making this preview, we realized that to really experience Turntable Town, you've got to watch it in action. With that in mind, here's some hot-off-the-presses gameplay!
Well, that may be all we have for this challenge level, but there are plenty more to discover in-game! Including the one from this teaser image below... 🤫
That's it for this Discord exclusive preview! We would love to hear your thoughts on this level, or even your thoughts on vinyl in general! Are you a collector?
MAKE SURE TO WISHLIST!
With each Tinytopia Wishlist milestone we smash through, we will be offering bigger and better giveaways. We just finished our $150 Steam credit giveaway after reaching 15,000 wishlists, and we're nearing 20,000 already! We also have a huge giveaway on the horizon with tons of PC-gaming-related prizes, so keep an eye out for that!
We've officially launched the Mastiff Discord server, the best place on the internet to discuss Tinytopia and gain direct access to the MeNic team and make new friends! In fact, we first unveiled the Turntable Town, Paris, and Tokyo levels on Discord!
Everyone who joins will be awarded a special server role, which will grant them access to our #supergiveaway channel. We've already given away several physical copies of Mastiff games and have more giveaways coming soon!

Due to balancing issues with how overwpowered the Dragon orb has been, it undergone some changes. Now it's a little smaller, jumps slightly less higher and is noticably slower. That said it still remains one of the best - if not the very best orb in the game.

Server Capacity Limit
The server can contain up to 1000 players. Premium Supporter Pack owners have priority to join before other users. Please keep in mind that right now the average player count is far from the limit, and if the game keeps growing the limit of the server will be increased.
Networking fixes
Some improvements were made and the game should have less issues connecting to the server now.
Mystery Tunnel improvements Mystery tunnel now connects to the Python Underground Beowarmth can be battled in the Mystery tunnel after the Apex Castle event is completed. Fixed error where if your monster is slower than the enemy and the enemy would miss it would skip your turn. Fixed error where monsters of the same speed could skip each others turns. Improved Exp Bar Scaling Added Help tab on Main Menu Improved Fantom Tower Music Added Vs Void Mystical Music Fixed error in Mystery tunnel where incorrect monster images were displayed Removed Enlighten a deprecated lighting feature in Unity that was causing crashes with certain GPUs Fixed error where library kid battle would keep 2 instances of the character causing sprite overlap Fixed error where Tribolt is not faceable if you save and quit out before facing him. I removed all prints and debug.log statements from the project. These were used to locate bugs and issues by being able to track what the game was doing. No more information is being documented to the player log unless an error is reached. This will help with performance. Fixed bug where crashing to main menu would cause the save file to be lost and the main menu to rewrite it with a blank file. Now nothing on the main menu sets the save except new game and the help button. Added missing shader to graphics settings which was causing crashes for older DirectX users. Added loading screen on main menu Increased catch rate for early Entodrive like Thunion and Tomceae More move consistency and text alignment improvements Worked on fixing a bug where the savemanager will duplicate after traveling from certain levels and could cause a save wipe. I believe I've done a lot to prevent this, but if you have some method of reproducing this bug please lmk. Changed script execution priority so that the save script will now always execute first. Some errors / crashes were created when other scripts ran before the save script. Dispersed more upgrade stones throughout Cache Isle w/ rng respawners Fixed bug where base stat in storage menu was displaying base attack as base special attack Fixed bug where floral transfer for enemies wouldn't steal hp from user.
What's coming next :
More Achievements Entodrive World Championship More moves Updated community guides
I'm excited to announce this new feature now added to the game. Maps are the core of StarPicker gameplay. Then a new map display option means a lot more than just a small update.
When you start the game, you now are asked to select your map display preference. You have the choice between the original map display or the advanced mode.
The advanced mode uses ISOM standards for Orienteering mapping. The map reading is more difficult for beginners, but the regular navigators might find it more useful! If you already have a saved game you can activate the feature in the option menu.
Here are some StarPicker map samples with the feature activated:
Maps display will continuously be improved, so be sure to stay tuned.
Patch 12! This is a big patch, so buckle in and get ready to read! Or ignore this and just go in blind, your call.
Wardrobe System:
We added a new system to help customize your WASD'ing experience. On the main menu you'll now find a wardrobe button where you can change clothes and even equip mounts. Clothing can be obtained as a reward for daily logins, as well as some pieces can be earned via achievements in game.
Daily Login:
As a nice little reward for logging in you'll receive various rewards depending on the day. This isn't meant to be an incentive to get on, nor should it feel like an obligation to get every day. It's just a small bonus to say thanks for playing! Rewards are given in groups of 7, with the final day being a new cosmetic mount. Logins do not have to be done on subsequent days, so feel free to take your time checking in.
In-Game Achievements:
On the main menu you'll find another button for accessing the achievements page. Here you can collect various rewards (mostly platinum) for completing different achievements in the various modes. Even if you're not interested in the platinum, each achievement collected will give you a permanent damage bonus in Idle Mode, so it might be worth doing a bit of achievement hunting.
New Enemies:
Like in previous weeks, we've added in a new batch of enemies to loot, along with custom quotes and WASDex entries. Have fun adding to your collection!
General
Crit has been reworked. Crit was massively outperforming anything else, and with the current way it was designed it made it extremely difficult to balance. Crit should now perform slightly better early game but scale far slower, making it not as broken with large amounts of crit chance and damage. Players in late stages will likely notice a dramatic damage decrease if relying heavily on crit, but this change is meant to encourage other builds and more specific strategies, and was required to allow for healthy game balance in the future.
Balance Changes:
These changes are intended to make the early game slightly faster for new players, as well as make the late game slightly slower for player's who've heavily invested into NVG. At it's current cost NVG is far more valuable than buying hats for players going base damage builds (after wave 250), so this makes it more of a decision rather than a formality. On top of that there's a nerf to Fast Pass to limit the max amount, however we're adding the Fast Pass+, Fast Pass++, and Fast Pass Premium - allowing you to start at up to round 100 (for 2/3/4 Plat per stack respectively).

The updated Highsteppe will be coming out in a patch on Tuesday, August 31st. For a preview of the many upcoming changes, we turn to the pages of the Highsteppe Enquirer and their in-depth coverage on Highsteppe and all things Patreayl.
HIGHSTEPPE, PATREAYL - By edict of Markos of Runevale, recently returned to sanity and consciousness from the clutches of evil sorcerer Sephotep, the city of Highsteppe has been renovated in order to match the splendor of Patreayl!
Gone is the hodgepodge, ramshackle style of old Highsteppe. The raw timber and salvaged materials have been replaced city-wide with stone, glass and new wrought iron work crafted by our very own Master Smith.
Newly refurbished home of Patreayl's homegrown hero
Chef Lethrow's new kitchen
Mayor Kaia finally has her own office for conducting her mayoral affairs, and Pierre Cenn’s shop has received a facelift. Chef Lethrow’s kitchen has also received a major upgrade, with ample space for his cauldrons and cooking stoves, a necessary change as the chef has more mouths to feed with the ever-increasing population of the surrounding area. The Chef is helped in his culinary pursuits through the salvaging and harvesting efforts of Whisper, who has expanded her shop to include extra space for drying herbs.
New Fellowship Hall and Fellowship Court
Even your very own Highsteppe Enquirer has new offices, though our request to be moved off the side street into the thick of town was denied, so you will still have to visit us next to the airship dock to submit any bits of news or gossip for your local reporter. And speaking of the airship dock, the newly constructed dock offers a breathtaking view for the adventurous spirit willing to clamber all the way up there. (You will quite literally have your breath taken away after climbing to the top of the new dock. It's quite tall.)

While the pathways through town have mostly remained the same, some unidentified person in city planning made the questionable decision to put a bank of new housing next to Mayor Kaia’s office, so all residents will now need to take the new tunnel off the bridge from the center tree in order to access the far side of town. This change has also created a dead-end alley behind Pierre Cenn’s Critter Capture shop, which no doubt will create a gathering place for the town’s riff-raff.

Trade with the Ottathamine and Parathine empires has been steadily increasing in recent months, and the payoffs of this prosperity can be seen all over town, from the new cobblestone walkways to the exquisite fountain under the Guardian tree to the peaks of the refurbished Fellowship Hall.
“It’s about time this city reflected the wealth of our empire,” Markos told this reporter. “Gone are the dark days!”
Not everyone believes the dark days are gone, however. The new stonework seen on buildings around town is echoed ten times in the newly strengthened stone walls of the city - which begs the question, if Patreayl has really returned from dark times, why are we strengthening our walls rather than venturing beyond them?
“Dunno what Markus is talking about,” said Rodolphous Dungbar, aged 36 of Highsteppe, who is always good for one off-color remark. “Last time I set foot outside the gates, a bush damn near took my head off.”
The countryside is no doubt still overrun with monsters and Scavs, though you can’t say that the wealth of monsters hasn’t translated itself into a wealth of another kind. All it takes is one look at Darius’s renovated shop to see that business is certainly booming for the Sphinxian bounty hunter. Inside you’ll find a menagerie of Patreayl’s finest monsters on display. Darius has even gone to the effort of organizing them by region of the country, so the city's intrepid explorers can see what fiends and foes await them in the lands beyond.
Interior of Darius's newly renovated shop
Speaking of the lands beyond, not all new construction has been relegated to inside the city's walls. The risk of monsters hasn't stopped Farmers Sam and Jonce from reestablishing their farmsteads in the Highsteppe Hills.
“After so many years of lying fallow, the soil in the hills is at its finest. I think we’ll see some of our best harvests this year,” said Sam, whose humble homestead can be found in the foothills of the path up to the plateau. “I’ve been working sun up til sundown since moving out here. Might have to advertise for a farmhand soon. Say, does the enquirer have a classifieds section?”
But whatever you do, don't take this reporter's word for it. Get out and explore your own town!
The Highsteppe Update Patch will release on Tuesday, August 31st. We will have more information about content in the rest of the patch in our next post.
