The bug reports and suggestions really help to move the progress forward. 1.0.5 is mostly a bugfixing update, but there's a visual change in strange asteroid sprites (see above!).
Strange asteroids now have different sprites
Abilities that fire towards the cursor cannot be intercepted anymore
Changed the Plover's ability projectile sprite
Added a setting to round bulk-upgrades to the nearest "clean" number (ex. holding shift to upgrade a lvl 32 building will upgrade it to just lvl 40)
Added a setting to buy as many building/ship levels as possible when holding shift/ctrl
Snapping the camera between chunks is now done with Z/C rather than tapping the directional keys
Camera panning with keyboard is faster
Fixed "Quit hittin yourself" achievement completing when you lose
Fixed a bug where clicking above a chunk placement preview would make that new chunk invisible until you restarted the game
Fixed chunks not spawning with obstacles (making the game far easier than was intended)
Legendary synergies now display properly in their menu
Thanks again! Every forum post helps :) In 1.1, expect more content like higher tier upgrades to progress late-game forward. Let us know if there is anything else! Best, Coldwild Games team
As announced, we’re merging some of the European and two US servers next week to give you a more exciting and varied gaming experience in Runes of Magic.
Shop offers which are currently only available on the new servers will also be made available on the new servers!
We have also changed the Ruby system: you can continue spending rubies on the same items as you have before. However, there will be no more payback for purchases.
We will add the Training Range event on all servers.
Any more questions?
If you’d like to learn more about the server merge, you can read our FAQ.
We wish you all full servers, tons of fun and loads of action with plenty of new RoM friends! The RoM Team
Will a merge of the servers affect the release of new content and new bugfixes? No. The merge is a completely independent Gameforge project. In the meantime, Runewaker will continue working on the game and corresponding updates as usual.
Which servers are planned to be merged and when will it take place? As already announced, we’ll be merging some European servers and two US servers.
The exact times of the server mergers will be announced separately on our homepage, social media and the official forums.
Notes about the shop:Shop offers which are currently only available on Kerub and Svidur will also be made available on the new servers!
We have also changed the Ruby system: you can continue spending rubies on the same items as you have before. However, there will be no more refunds for purchases.
General Merge Information
Which criteria will be used when considering accounts for the server merge? There are no restrictions with regard to the accounts. We will merge all accounts.
What will happen to inactive accounts and players who return after years of inactivity? They will be able to log in and play on the newly merged servers.
Do players have to transfer their accounts or will this happen automatically? We will handle the merging of the servers. That means it will happen automatically. Almost like magic.
Will the game be shut down separately or will this be taken care of during the regular maintenance? The server merge will not take place during a regular maintenance, and the respective servers will be shut down.We will start with smaller servers and soon thereafter continue with the remaining planned server mergers.
How long will the servers be offline during the server merges? It will certainly take longer than a regular server maintenance, but we cannot give an exact time.
Can players decide, themselves, which server they want to be transferred to?No, the accounts will be merged according to the combinations listed.
Will servers be merged across countries?Yes, the international server is the result of merging EN+ FR + PL + EU.
How many servers will be permanently merged together as one, and what are the criteria for this? The number of servers to be merged can vary from group to group since we have chosen the size of the server population as the deciding criterion.
Have you considered the economics of the individual servers? The most important criterion is the server population. We have weighed the pros and cons and came to the conclusion that a perfect economy means nothing if there are too few players. Therefore, we have decided that population plays a bigger role than the other aspects.
Will there be multiple channels on the merged servers? Not at the beginning. But if more channels are needed after the merge, we will consider it.
Specific server merge information
What will happen to characters with the same name?If two characters with the same name end up on the same server, the character with the highest level (regardless of class or class level) will retain their name.If both characters are of the same level, the deciding factor will be made based on pure playtime, i.e. the character which has been played the longest.
What happens with guilds which have the same name? The guild with the highest level will keep their name. If their levels are the same, the guild on the target server will retain their name.
How will conflicting housing numbers be handled? The houses that are moved will receive a new number and will be assigned to their respective character. This way no one will end up in another player’s house.
What happens if I have more than 8 characters on my account after the merger? In this case, you will still be able to play all your characters as normal. But you will not be able to create new characters until you have fewer than 8 characters.
Will the merge affect my characters in any? (Items, gold, XP/TP, jobs, pets etc.)No, everything connected with your character will be transferred.
Will the merger affect my house or my house servants? No, the house itself and everything belonging to it is connected to the character and will therefore be transferred over.
What will happen to my Friend List, Blacklist and relationships?Everything should stay the way it is now, but some characters may have new names.
What will happen to inactive guilds? Will they also be transferred over?Since we are merging all accounts including inactive ones, inactive guilds will also be carried over.
What effects will the merge have on the Auction House? Will it be closed and cleared before the merge? The auctions will not be transferred. But before the merge takes places, all auctions will be cancelled, and the items will be returned to their seller. After the merge, you will have to put these items back up for auction if you want to sell them.
What will happen to the furniture in my house and the guild castle?Everything connected to your character will be merged.
What will happen to the letters I have in the Mailbox during the merge? After the merge is complete, everything will be there.
Will the server merge result in changes to Siege War?No, there will be no changes to Siege War due to the server merge. The system works independent of the number of servers and will thus not require any adjustments.
What will happen to the Magic Wardrobe? You don’t have to worry about your Magic Wardrobe. Players on some servers will have to log in to Account Management on our homepage. There, these players can then transfer their costumes to the new server. If there are still costumes from an earlier server merger stored there, these can also be transferred.
Please be aware that from 8:00 CEST on August 5 (11:00 pm PDT 8/04), the Conqueror’s Blade servers will be inaccessible. The downtime is expected to last for 4 hours.
Please refer to the Patch Notes for documented changes. Meanwhile, stay tuned to our Discord channel in case of any immediate server updates.
As we look out of the castle window we spy a disturbance in the twisted forests yonder. Grabbing our telescopes, we spy dark dealings afoot. Looks like it is time to open up the castle armoury and send cartloads of sharp, pointy weaponry off into the village, where our lovely community of villagers can arm themselves and go sort out the bother, because we are just far too scared. Why do you think we work in a castle?!
And thus, we welcome you to ‘Hag & Slash: The Combat Update.
OVERVIEW
Simplewood is the first of 3 increasingly tricksy places to explore and test your skills against the first set of wonderful denizens we have cooked up for you in our development cauldron. Within the glades you will find danger, but also some respite and intrigue...a sample of what is to come as we build out the 'fungeons', as we don’t call them. Within this fabulous update you will also find new Reputation Perks for all your shops, and a lovely little new level to explore, with a very helpful new Master residing within, plus a bunch of fixes and other little bits & bobs. So get your backpack dusted off, wear reinforced underwear, and prepare for a bit of the old Hag & Slash!
SIMPLEWOOD
To experience what combat has to offer, enter the depths of Simplewood, the easiest of our dark forests. You will find Simplewood at the top centre of Rivermoor. You should bump into Jogon, who will teach you the way of the blade. However, if you do not keep your wits about you, then you can be something’s dinner before you can say “Ouch!” Within each ‘dungeon’ you can elect to go right and stay at the same difficulty, or head deeper in, increasing the difficulty but opening up much more potential for tasty rewards!
LOADOUT
Prepare thyself! Literally. Equip any weapons (up to 2 swords, madam), pack a good meal and stuff up to 10 combat items into your pack. You can also take in 1 charm and 1 ward which will buff you and debuff your enemies. If it is night, then maybe a lantern will be handy! Items can be bought or crafted, and weapons can affect different creatures in different ways.
COMBAT
Kynseed had a sparkly new combat system that marries the look of a turn-based RPG, but has the reactions and strategy of an action combat game. Think of it as a mix of One Step From Eden, the Super Mario RPG’s and Steamworld Quest. You can attack your lane or diagonally adjacent, and each enemy position matches a button on your gamepad. Combat is ruled by ‘Stamina’, and each attack uses one unit, although there are ways for the skilful to get free hits. Moving and blocking deplete your stamina so make sure you have enough. Stamina recharges and the rate of how fast depends on your stamina stat.
PARRY
By far the most useful and fun move, Parrying is something you will need to learn if you want to maximise your effectiveness (and it is FUN as we keep saying). Time a block at just the right moment and you can reflect a projectile back at the slinger, or stop a melee attack and leave them open to a quick counter, the first hit of which is free. Not everything can be parried though so watch out!
THE BOW
If you meet Moon the Archery Master, you may get a bow to aid you. Bows initially don’t cause much damage, but are most effective at knocking enemies out of blocking, draining their stamina and stunning them...buying you time. You have just 6 arrows per run but may find more on your explorations.
USE ITEMS
Those items you packed earlier? Well, you can use them anytime. Some items can be used on yourself, or thrown onto what we call, ‘Nodes’...the halfway point of a lane between yourself and the enemy. And some items can be hurled directly at enemies. Bees. That’s all we will say.
NON-COMBAT ROOMS
As you travel from glade to glade in the forest, you may come across other room types. These can be anything from little challenges to mysterious interactive elements...we will let you discover these. You may also find a campfire to heal, although doing so will force you up a few levels of difficulty!
The update also contains a new region called Drownhill and some extra work on making the 3 shop types fun. You can now raise reputation to earn perk points that you can spend on...you guessed it...Perks! This is just the start of improving the business aspect of the game. You will also find more proverbs filled in and a number of other fixes and little nuggets as detailed in the changelist which our scribe scrabbled to scribble.
We can’t wait to hear your feedback and watch your videos and streams as you battle the first set of foes in an update we are intensely proud of. We poured a lot of hard work and love into this, and jugs of coffee into ourselves, just so we could send you to do our dirty work in the dark forest. We want a cut of the loot by the way.
Tower can now be on the lookout for you if they're a bit suspicious. Buying at the incinerator now has some limits but also some ways to get around them. You no longer need handguns or knives to keep your crew around, but it costs more instead.
Fixed a potential problem with Messing with things. Fixed a problem with Curtis and Gilbert randomly popping up when it shouldn't. Fixed a problem with getting Masked from trouble. Fixed a bug with the new junk trade prices. Fixed a bug with moving Ann off the streets. Fixed a problem with Dojo sessions. Corrected a load of typos; thanks for the reports!
The latest update Hag & Slash: The Combat Update is now available and here is the changelog of what has been updated! As always, these things are an ongoing development, so expect bugs, balancing issues and an overwhelming urge to sprinkle herbs on things.
We appreciated any feedback at our usual channels on Discord, our forums or in the Steam Discussions.
