It really has been a journey too, with new modes, new Prophets and a whole host of console versions bringing more players than we ever could have imagined into our broken world! We cannot BELIEVE what a fantastic time these last two years have been with Nowhere Prophet - we've achieved a great deal but we couldn't have done it without YOU, our Pilgrims and Players! Thank you to everyone who has supported Nowhere Prophet and a huge thank you to everyone who has played on the preview branch and sent us feedback through the discord! You've helped shape Nowhere Prophet into the game it is today, and it's one we're immeasurably proud of!

19th July 2019
Nowhere Prophet is OUT NOW!
After a successful beta run and one of the most in-depth feedback rounds we've ever seen, Nowhere Prophet launched onto PC. We watched countless streams, YouTube videos and chatted to people on Twitter, though Martin also fixed 100s of bugs that weekend (he was a warrior). People were happy, but Nowhere Prophet still had a ways to go yet!

Custom Game Update
A few months later came my favourite update, the Custom Game Update! After fixing up bugs and balancing out bosses, Martin really got to spread his wings a little and give the game something that both players and he had wanted for a long while. A Custom Mode that allowed players to play in their own style, and however they wanted with the power of modifiers!
This update also introduced the Pioneers, a brand new convoy of Unionists looking to carve out their own path in Soma. Have you guided them to the end of the world yet?

The Board/Control Update
With this update, everyone had caught the new follower bug - there were OVER 40 NEW FOLLOWERS added in this update to bolster and introduce some new playstyles into the game. To go with them, two new keywords were added, including BRAWL (which is my absolute favourite) and a new mechanic that allowed you to recover some of the spoils left behind by your previous caravan if you could find them!

The Big Steam Update
By now, Nowhere Prophet had seen an incredible influx of players and new playstyles, thanks to the previous updates. That gave us time to look to Steam and see what we could improve there for everyone.
Of course, it was perfect that the card game got its own trading cards, and everyone got Steam Cloud support to boot, so you'd never leave a convoy behind again!

The Spider and The Seer Update
At this point Nowhere Prophet had new cards, new convoys and new ways to play, so what better Christmas present could we give players than new Prophets!
The Spider and The Seer brought with them new (and slightly sinister) ways of playing, which opened up even more doors throughout Soma!

The Big Perk Update
This update brought the older convoys in line with the newer ones, and gave them all a unique perk that was intrinsic to them! This update took a while to get spot on, but we genuinely feel it gave each convoy some real personality and rewarded players who leaned into the playstyles of each convoy hugely!
From Strength of the Pack to Fortune's Favors, each convoy now had a new, interesting twist, as well as some new perks to unlock and enjoy!

The Breaker and The Stalker Update
Since Nowhere Prophet had started development 6 years prior, Martin had envisioned a specific group of Prophets. With The Breaker and The Stalker added to the game, that team was now complete!
Both of these Prophets brought with them marking and bringing down enemies in their own ways, and so with them, new keywords and strategies. Marking quickly became a favourite, with The Breaker seeing a lot of play!

Progression Overhaul & Controller Update!
In this update, controller support arrived, which meant lots of you knew EXACTLY what was coming next! A lot of the progression in the game was also reworked, with an emphasis on phasing out some of the things players had been finding cumbersome over the previous year!
In addition to that, the RAIDERS stealthily made their way into the game!

Nowhere Prophet OUT NOW on consoles!
We were so excited to bring everyone this update! Everyone had been asking for Nowhere Prophet to be portable and playable from the couch since launch, and after a lot of hard work, it was released on all consoles across the world!
We have officially enabled the Steam Workshop. It is the first step to the modding support of this game. https://steamcommunity.com/app/1213740/workshop/ You cannot mod the game yet since we have not released any official modding tools yet. But you can already download two test mods we uploaded to the workshop.
And the next step for the modding implementation is to release the official modding tools to the public, test it and gradually add features to it. Similar to the game itself, the modding tools require plenty of time to make, test, and polish. So we figured it will be a good idea to start it early in the development and have it grow with the game itself.
Meanwhile, we have been busy improving the gameplay, adding content, fixing bugs, etc. And here is what we have been doing.
New Content
Added several new companions. You will get them from the rescue mission, that will appear on the world map after some time.
Added a new faction: The Orcs (WIP)
Added the balance parameter to determine whether the Succubus should stagger when hit.
Added two new maps: Venom Den and The Misty Den.
Added the expression controller when posing.
Added more than 10 new lingerie.
Added a few armor sets.
Added more than 10 new pieces of furniture.
Added a few higher-level weapons.
Moved most of the Smuggler items to the loot pool.
Added confirmation window when you click the return to main menu button.
Tweaked strength attributes to scale with player's damage.

An Un-epic story: The adventure of Enki and Tiny Freddie - Kirothy
The game will be released very soon! And we are all glad we manage to make it happens! The last tests went just fine and our beta testers are finished and all bugs have been exterminated.

This is a small technical update with a hotfix and some server changes. The update is mostly to keep the cadence with our weekly updates and to make sure the maps will be out and ready for the following weekend. The update will also be slightly larger than normal as a few older maps were updated.
A hotfix came in this week, addressing a grenade bug that users were anticipating might be getting exploited. Some improvements to the server deployments. Hopefully by next week some of our user-facing changes should start trickling into our weekly updates.
Changes:
Fix for bug involving holstering already thrown grenade, that caused various issues on client prediction
Killhouse maps from last week which used the Garage Doors have had their buttons moved to the interior; they will now require a charge to be easily used by the attackers.
Map rotation balance per map type has been restored closer to something resembling 40 per each map type instead of having radically skewed map counts for cstore and killhouse.
Changed how maps are stored on the server side which caused...
- Server startup time reduced on new server allocations
- Memory overhead reduced on the server when loading various levels
Refactored logging of events on server side to allow for expansions of more general logging of things besides analytics.
Fixed errors with some logging of events
Backend change to reduce required downtime when updating servers and to improve efficiency of some operations
Added two new bonuses for coats of arms: The crossed swords are close combat specialists, increasing sawblade and flamethrower damage by 40%. The vol are aerial aces, increasing the fire rate of airplanes by 40%.
Reduced marine fire rate by 25% for balancing purposes.
Fixed a bug where ships with sails would constantly emit sail sounds.
The AI again no longer builds ships it cannot afford to maintain.
Added modding utilities for converting between the game's internal GUG format used for saves and a (more) human-readable JSON format. You can activate them by enabling "modding tools" in the settings.
Added a setting for enabling in-game cheats.
The cheats allow you to get free money, get all techs, instantly complete ship construction, prevent the AI from attacking you, destroy ships in combat, restock your resources in combat, and switch which empire you control.
They're of course only available in single-player and disable achievements. If you have suggestions for additional ones, let me know.
Why did I add cheats? Well, uh, people are cheating anyway using cheat engine and causing weird bug reports that I then have to spend time investigating. So I'd much rather give you a clean way to cheat. Plus I firmly believe that you should be able to do whatever you like with software that's on your computer. It's your computer, and I'm not a cop.
But please don't use Cheat Engine in multiplayer. It desyncs the game and then I have to spend time and energy going over the desync report. Time I could spend making cool stuff for Airships, or napping.
