The C Cup update will be the final update for the 2020 release. Instead of continuing with the cup updates forever I decided to overhaul the game. The result, God willing, will be the Ultimate Edition instead.

REMAINING KNOWN BUGS/ISSUES

  • CRASH ON LOAD:SOLUTION: Add "+novid" to the game's launch parameters on Steam.

  • MISSING TEXTURES/WIREFRAME BUG.SOLUTION: Add "+mat_dxlevel 95" to the game's launch parameters on Steam.

  • THE WHITE BUG: All props turn white.
    SOLUTION: Restart the game. We have reduced the likelihood of this error occurring but it's a very random bug so we can't guarantee that you won't run into it.

  • WATER/SKY FLICKER: This can happen when there is water at the beginning of a level.
    SOLUTION: Resolves by itself after a few seconds.

  • SOME VGUI ELEMENTS WON'T RENDER CORRECTLY.SOLUTION: Reopen the misbehaving tabs/restart the game. This graphical error is a side effect of the game being ported over from older versions of the Source Engine. Working on it.

NOTES:

  • [/i] Sometimes level transitions occur after the screen fades to white so the loading icon might be hard to see. Don't worry, the next map is loading, it's not a freeze or crash.

  • [/i] Console will not most likely not render properly after this update. Working on it.

  • [/i] In some cases when the player is close to a brush and in interactive animations view plane clipping issues can occur. Working on it.

Thanks again for your support in the Early Access program and taking part in this crazy journey!

We are working hard on the next updates and we want to show you what’s on the plate.

The main focus is on usability.

One of the most requested features is the possibility of playing the standing Player avatar while being seated in real life. This „Sitting Mode“ will be part of the next update (0.5.4). You will be able to adjust the height of the camera.

And in August in 0.5.5 there will be even more big features!

Until there’s headsets with FBT we have to be creative and find solutions for a playable full-body experience. One of the solutions we are working on is the support of Vive Trackers. They will allow to track more joints and points of your body. Furthermore you will be able to connect a tracker to a Fleshlight or sth similar and link it to the character’s body in VR HOT.

Another solution if you don’t have or want to use trackers is the possibility to disable the Player’s legs, so they can’t get in the way anymore.

You dropped the chain again? Don’t bother to bend over, just Force Grab it!

What's new
  • Thrown objects can now damage enemies and trigger switches.
What's changed

  • Building is now clearly split into two modes: Tile Mode and Object Mode
  • Use Tab/Left Trigger to switch between these modes
Fixed Bugs
  • Some objects could incorrectly be placed on walls instead of the floor only.
  • Bug-Fix: Bomb Explosions were not able to destroy grass or trigger switches.
  • Fink's movement speed was affected by the game's FPS. - You can now walk at the same speed and roll the same distance, no matter how good or bad your computer is!
Known issues
Some elements (e.g. thrown objects) are still affected in their movement by varying fps. This will be addressed in the near future.

Starring the titular and evolved bull shark protagonist and investigative journalist/narrator Trip Westhaven, Maneater: Truth Quest will take players down the rabbit hole of dark secrets and conspiracies surrounding Port Clovis and the Naval Wildlife Organization (NWO). The original stories of animals growing bone like armor, emitting flesh-eating toxins, or using electricity as a weapon were simply just old fisherman's tales. That is until conspiracy theorists everywhere pointed to the original Maneater as solid proof of a Government coverup. Trip Westhaven, driven the brink of madness, fires up his ViewTube channel “Truth Quest”, to take his followers, the “Questers” into deep waters in an effort to uncover the dark secrets behind this whale of a tale.

Chris Parnell (Saturday Night Live, Rick and Morty, Archer), reprises his role as investigative journalist Trip Westhaven in today’s new Maneater: Truth Quest “Site P” trailer, further exploring the dark conspiracies players will uncover in their underwater journey.

Maneater: Truth Quest DLC takes players to a brand-new island off the coast of Port Clovis – and comes packed with new evolutions, challenges, wildlife, and more! Players will once again take control of the apex predator of the sea to Eat, Explore and Evolve their way to the top of the food chain. Those interested in testing the water can also look forward to a free pilot episode, showcasing some of the new objectives players can sink their teeth into while uncovering the mysteries that lie below. This pilot episode features approximately 10-15 minutes of gameplay and is intended to provide a small taste of what’s to come with the full version of Maneater: Truth Quest.
