Shhh…
Who is that over there in the dark?
Watching every step, eyes bright like a spark.

Shhh…
Is it my enemy or my friend?
It is hard to tell, but I won’t be afraid.

Hello everyone,

In this update, we want to tell you all about the characters that you saw in our trailer and which you will meet on your adventure. The forest hides many secrets, and one of them is its inhabitants. What are they like, what can we expect from them, and how did they get there in the first place? Well, let’s find out!

All of our creatures either have their origins in, or are inspired by, Nordic legends and tales. We are a Swedish studio, and all of us grew up on these stories told by our parents and grandparents. Bramble is a small tribute to these tales, a little glimpse into our childhood. It’s also our way of sharing these stories with the rest of the world.

Here are three creatures that you met in our trailer, in a bit more detail.

Näcken - he is a male spirit living in the water. Depending on which part of Nordics you are, his story is slightly different. One thing that’s in common is that he plays enchanted songs on his violin to lure you in. Be careful of his melody. Although it sounds sweet, the end will be bitter.

Lemus - this creator is a figment of our imagination in the studio. Although not directly lifted from Nordic legends, it was inspired by a John Bauer painting, specifically this one here! Don't worry, this creature is not a threat to you. He is one of the few friendly faces you will meet in this dangerous world.

Rumpnissar - they are little residents of the forest. They're tiny, cute, and you don’t need to be afraid of them. If you can, take good care of them too.

These are just some of the inhabitants of this wild enchanted forest. There are many more that you will meet on your way. But remember - not everything and everyone in Bramble is your friend.

Regards,

Your Dimfrost Team

Happy Friday, everyone!

We’ve been off our usual schedule with our Dev Letters due to holidays and a lot of focus on solving the issues on the Xbox platform for the Resistance Update. To briefly touch on that topic, we, unfortunately, do not have any news of an adjusted release date for it just yet. We are still sorting through all the fixes, testing, and iterating. We should have a better view of our next submission date next week though!

Onto broader reaching, more positive topics! This one we’re pretty excited to talk about, too, as it’s been another long-requested change for Generation Zero. It is something that has been contained for a while and perhaps could use a bit of an expansion. Pushing poor puns aside, it should make way for more room in everyone’s Plundra!

That’s right! We’re finally making space for all the weapons you’ve been collecting and all the extras that have been dropped into the game since launch. It won't be an instant upgrade, as you will have to put some effort into expanding your storage space through multiple tiers to find the right size for your arsenal. This will utilize some of those materials you’ve been collecting since crafting dropped into the world of Östertörn.

It doesn't stop with the Plundra either; the Recycling bench is also getting the same update. You will have to craft the expansions in a separate line than the Plundra, though. Here’s a sneak peek of how it is likely to scale (values can be subject to adjustment for balancing purposes):

When is this making it into an update? Well, we don't have an exact date just yet, but it's nearly ready and will make it into the following update once all platforms are at parity. What we can say is that we are targeting the most immediate update post-summer.

We hope you’re all as excited about this upcoming feature as we are! As usual, we will be keeping an eye on all our channels to listen to any feedback on these topics. Have a great weekend everyone!

Car Mechanic Simulator VR - GameFormatic_business
Dear mechanics!

Last time we showed you what we were working on at the time. As our testing process is approaching an end, it’s high time we introduced you to our new system responsible for automatic assembly and disassembly game mode changing and also a system allowing you to disassemble parts that don’t have bolts on them by hand. Check them out and see for yourselves how they are working! We hope that the introduction of those systems will make the gameplay more enjoyable! Make sure to let us know how you like the changes!

Currently, our main goal is to make as many in-game activities as we can fully interactable, minimizing the use of the laser pointer. This update is the first of many updates to come, so make sure to check in frequently! Your suggestions and tips on what would make the game better are of great value to us, so make sure to keep them coming. If you would like to submit your feedback, be sure to join our discord channel, where we keep track of all of your messages and reply on a regular basis (https://discord.gg/46jXGSVdEE). Your engagement really keeps us going and points us in the way leading to Car Mechanic Simulator VR becoming the best game for virtual mechanics!

We want to inform those of you, who up to this point was not satisfied with the level of immersion provided by our game, that we are constantly working on new solutions and various enhancements and we highly encourage you to give our game another go. Truly a lot has changed!

Besides the aforementioned changes, we also implemented a wide range of smaller tweaks which you suggested. For example, the lighting was changed to make the engine chambers brighter and the shadows in overview mode were revamped. Now you will be able to better see which parts require your immediate attention.

Your Steam reviews are of great importance to us and give us an enormous energy boost, so if you like the game and the latest changes, we highly encourage you to write and post your review!

We will soon write to you again and present you with our plans for upcoming changes. See you soon!

Dear Pilots,

Today’s Developer Diary has two cool items to announce.

First, you can’t stage a Normandy invasion without some dashing British gents jumping out of airplanes. So, we built some.

Next, we are excited to announce that our next payware historical Scripted Campaign is coming soon and it’s called – Steel Birds!

Created by our master mission-specialist Alex “Blacksix” Timoshkov, Steel Birds focuses on Fw-190 A-5 operations in the Kuban theater in late spring 1943. You'll take on the role of the newly appointed flight commander in 5. Staffel of the II./Sch.G 1. Under the command of Hauptmann Frank Neubert this Gruppe has just completed a retraining program and has relocated to Anapa airfield to support the operations of the German 17th Army.

The campaign is set from April 14th to May 16th, 1943 and is centered around the struggle for a bridgehead at Novorossiysk (Operation Neptune), and two major Soviet offensives in the area of Krymskaya, which ended with the withdrawal of German troops to a new line of defense in early May.

The sharp increase of the Soviet air strength in the Kuban led to one of the largest and fiercest air battles ever on the Eastern Front. In this difficult situation, you have to strike artillery batteries, transport and armored columns, airfields and battle formations of enemy advancing troops.

We’ll have more about Steel Birds next week when we formally launch pre-orders for this historically bases campaign. Release is scheduled for August.

Some images from Steel Birds are below.

And finally, we have some images from the new Advanced Quick Mission interface that is coming later this summer. We saved our old “campaign” system technology and have laid it over the existing QMB to give you added depth for missions that can be created quickly. We think this will be an entertaining new feature that will allow you to fly missions with more structure, but not be as big a commitment as the Pilot Career or as simplistic as the QMB battles. This new AQM, alongside our other mission-making tools such as the existing QMB, Pilot Career and Mission Builder, plus all the great third-party apps like PWCG by Pat Wilson and EMG by SYN_Vander gives the Great Battle series an amazing number of options for creating entertaining mission content.

Enjoy!

The Sturmovik Team
