Monobot - Ukuza
The launch of Monobot is only 3 days away!

We're prepping all systems and getting ready for zero hour for Mono to boot up. Our team is excited to share Mono's world and story with you all. It will be a dark and challenging journey but we are sure you're up for the task. Just be sure to avoid the MOWOBOTs and their advanced weaponry.

The dev team put together a small Imgur post on their journey building the first prototypes of Monobot and how they formed DreamSmith Studio. Be sure to check it out below and give it an upvote for support!

The Battles Await!

It’s finally here—Co-Op for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition has arrived! Launching today in the Public Update Preview on Steam, Co-Op is now playable and will soon make its way into the Live game. What’s more fun than leading the charges down the Roman Empire as Atilla the Hun? Charging down the Roman legions with a friend by your side!

With today’s PUP build, we’ll start gathering your feedback and making changes in prep for the complete launch of all Co-Op content in a future update—So make sure you let us know what you think! You’ll find plenty of information below around how to get access, where to leave your feedback, and how we plan to follow up.

For now, here’s the TLDR:

  • Co-Op begins Preview today with 5 Historical Battles, specifically selected because of how much fun they create as Co-Op scenarios.
  • This Preview version of Co-Op will then go Live in our next Update.
  • As we gather your feedback and make those changes, we’ll be readying the release of Co-Op Campaign content, which includes 33 Missions selected from across 6 different Campaigns.

Preview Version:

You can access Co-Op through PUP (Public Update Preview) on Steam. To access the build:

  • Locate Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition in your Steam Games Library.
Right-click the game title and select  Properties at the bottom of the menu.
  • In the window that appears, select the BETAS tab on the left.
  • You’ll then be on the BETAS tab, and you’ll see a dropdown labeled “Select the beta you would like to opt into” – you should see an item labeled “pup_june – Public Update Preview – June” and you’ll want to select that.
  • Your game will then receive an update, and you can launch the game from there!
  • To return to the Live game, simply repeat steps 1-3, and once on the BETAS tab select NONE in the list. Your game will then update back to the Live build.
This puts Co-Op in your hands right now, and we anxiously await your feedback!

Where to Find Co-Op:

You can access Co-Op content from a few different places in the UI:

  • There is a Co-Op button in the Main Menu UI.
  • From the Main Menu UI, you can also click Single Player -> Campaigns – > Co-Op Campaigns, select your Mission, then invite a friend to join your Co-Op Lobby.
  • Alternatively, from the Main Menu UI, you can click Multiplayer -> Host Game -> and create a Co-Op enabled Custom Lobby.
  • Finally, from the (Custom) Lobby Browser, you can search for Co-Op Lobbies using the Game Mode filter for “Co-Op Campaign”.

How and Where to Provide Feedback:

While Co-Op is in PUP, you’ll be able to provide feedback in our normal “Public Update Preview – June” Steam forum, located here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/813780/discussions/8/

*NOTICE: you must be logged into Steam to see and contribute to the forums above.
Once Co-Op makes it live in a future update, we’ll provide Co-Op specific forum options where you can leave feedback and let us know what you think!

What to Expect from Co-Op:

Co-Op Historical Battles and Campaigns bring a cooperative Multiplayer experience to the vivid story-driven Campaign content you’ve been playing for so many years, making it feel pretty new and different from how you’ve experienced it all up to this point. We’re genuinely thrilled to see how you like it, and also use your feedback to improve what’s there before releasing all of the remaining content that’s waiting for you!

You can expect all the same Campaign quality you know, and you get to bring a friend:

  • Story-driven historical narratives and objectives.
  • That same Age of Empires II gameplay you know.
  • In-game dialogue (fully voiced in all supported languages).
  • Beautifully crafted maps.
  • Additionally, all AI players have been updated to now fight against two opponents instead of one. You’ll need to coordinate to conquer!
Good luck!

Scavengers - dance
Explorers,

We’re back with our latest Weekly Focus blog!

This will be a regular series where we’ll take a look at what the team is focusing their attention on this week, as well as their response to some of the top community feedback and suggestions we’ve received. You can also get a peek at the content and blogs planned for this week.

Developer Focus

Here, we’ll talk about some of the top topics that the team is working on this week. This isn’t their only focus - we’ll be highlighting only the main topics they’re focused on:
  • Console: Getting Scavengers ready to come to console is a huge priority. We’re constantly testing the console version internally to get it ready for public testing. We still don’t have a date when that may happen, but will let you know as soon as we have more information.
  • Bugs and Issues: Right now, the team is focused on fixing the bugs and issues that you have been reporting.
  • Continue Working on Upcoming Features: Our next game update is getting closer and we’re knuckling down to complete those features.
  • Improving Anti-Cheat: We’re continuing to improve our anti-cheat measures. Providing a fair game for all our players is very important, and we won’t stop working to prevent cheating.
  • Performance Optimization and Stability: Optimization and improving stability continues to be a core focus for our team. We’re interested in hearing any performance issues you may experience, so we can work to correct them.
  • Player Retention: Another continuing focus for us is to improve our player retention.. We want Scavengers to be a game that players are excited to return to, time and time again and we’ll be working on this through systems for both new and experienced players.
Top Community Feedback

We’re on this Scavengers journey with you, and we want to improve and refine the game with the feedback and suggestions from our community. Although the team is constantly going through your feedback and incorporating them into our updates and hotfixes, we haven’t had a really good way to let you know what might be coming in the medium to long term.

So, every week, we'll share our thoughts on some of the top community feedback topics that we’ve been seeing on our platforms. We may work on some of these for a future update; some of these could be part of a long-term plan and might not have a date for when they’ll arrive in Scavengers. Others, we may be investigating or considering adding, but can’t promise that you’ll see them in the game. Finally, for some, we want to continue hearing your feedback and thoughts on, to ensure we’re considering the right way to approach it. Let’s break them down:

Future Update:
For these, we’re planning to add them to Scavengers at some point, but don’t have a confirmed release date yet. They are part of our mid to long-term plans, so it could be months before they are available in-game.
  • Proxima Grenades: We’ve heard your feedback on the Proxima grenades. It’s not much fun to see a player on the enemy team run at you, loaded with Proxima grenades. While we’re not removing the ability to attach a Proxima grenade to an ally, we will be making changes to how it works in a future update.
  • End Game Content: We’re getting feedback that after Researching the high tier weapons and Talents and creating your ideal loadout, there isn’t much left to strive for. We’re investigating different ways we can continue to engage and excite our dedicated, end game players.
Interesting:
We’re interested in adding these to the game and are currently looking into how it might work. We don’t have any definite plans, so they may or may not be added in a future update.
  • Kill Feed UI: Right now, the UI isn’t where it should be so that you can clearly and easily know who killed you. This is something that we’re interested in addressing at some point in the future.
  • Research QoL Improvements: There are several quality of life improvements that could be added to the Research system, including making it clear what materials are needed for locked Research projects. We’re interested in looking into what QoL improvements we can make for our Research system.
  • Make 1st Place Finish Rewarding: You’ve fought the entire match, defeated AI and players, collected the most Datapoints, and successfully extracted... only to feel the rewards are less than satisfying. We want a first place finish to feel exciting and are looking into ways to make that happen.
Upcoming Blogs
Here’s where we’ll keep you updated on what blog content you might see!

This is a light week as we prepare communication for the upcoming game update.

There will be a small Hotfix this week to address game crashes.

We love seeing Scavengers fan art, videos and livestreams and are excited to share that content in a Community Roundup.

We’re committed to creating Scavengers with our amazing players. Please share your feedback and suggestions with us!

BALANCE CHANGES:
1. While on Shrooms*, you will now be immune to getting stunned. So when attacked by a bunch of dudes (or just one) while you're on Shrooms*, you no longer are just health immune, but also stun immune. We hope this helps people who were having issues with being attacked by too many guys. We also have a feeling Shrooms just got a proper place in the game along side the other super useful drugs like weed and crack.

2. Speaking of drugs being as useful as possible, we also made a small change to Peyote. Before, while you were invisible, there was a small radius that, if the AI came within it, they could see you (sense you, if you will). Well, that radius just shrunk big time. They'll technically still be able to sense you, but only from a very small distance. We hope this makes Peyote and the Spirit World more useful as a way of dropping people who are fighting you.

3. When you're playing on Easy, all of the Chapters will now be a lot easier. We heard that people were having to lower their character count to get through missions, and that just ain't right, so we fixed it. We lowered the number of characters attacking you, but also lowered the number of random people walking around (even when you have the game on max character count), so there will be a lot less of bringing random people into your fight by accidentally hitting them. We also made certain characters easier and made a few other tweaks to make sure that Easy was just that.

BUG FIXES:
You can now get first place in Tourist Bang in Downtown.

* In the game, we mean, for all you crazy fuckers who try everything in real life.
