1939 Games presents the KARDS Open VII, powered by 983 Media. In this open, you will compete in three levels of increased challenge - now presented all-in-one weekend!

STAGE ONE - Starting Saturday, June 26th with the swiss qualifiers, you will compete in a best of 3 free-for-all deck format. This means you can bring any deck you want and play it as many times as you'd like. No deck submissions and no deck restrictions!

STAGE TWO - Then, if you finish in the Top 16 from the swiss day, you will be qualified for the next stage - Sunday, June 27th to compete in the single elimination best of 3 conquest. In this stage, you will submit four of your best decks from four different main nations. (you will only use three of these decks for the first half of this bracket) You will ban one deck from your opponent and play a best of 3.

STAGE THREE - If you've made it to the Top 4 on Sunday, June 27th, you've made it to stage 3. In this stage you will break out your 4th submitted deck and play in a best of 5 single elimination with one ban. These games will be recorded for the main event stream taking place on Monday, June 28th.

A five chapter campaign focused on Drauven. This story follows both human and Drauven heroes over the span of the campaign. It's complex and beautiful. Something the team can be extremely proud.

Over 50 achievements have been added to the game. Each achievement unlocks a piece of concept art or a theme skin. You can browse your achievements in the legacy browser or on Steam.

Some themes now have skins that can be unlocked with achievements. Theme skins are cosmetic variants, and once unlocked, they can be chosen in the customize section in the character sheet.


When a hero levels up, they will now often see 4 choices instead of 3. The 4th choice is for upgrading an existing class ability or theme attack. This is a very big change to how heroes are built, and it will allow players to be more intentional with their builds, and differentiate heroes more.


The team has revamped their generic campaigns, and it's a huge improvement!

Now instead of seeing generic events, each chapter will have an omen, capstone, and victory events that fit together, with a custom capstone mission. Some chapters also include custom keystone missions. These chapters will be mixed together to create a whole campaign. Some are monster specific, and some work for any monsters, but they all have unique battle maps and stories that match what's going on in the overall campaign. Right now there are over 20 chapters in the game, with several more on the way.

- Fixed a crash after the tutorial on early versions of DirectX 11 (Windows 7/8/8.1).
- Added support for vertically inverting mouse look.
- Fixed several spelling and grammar mistakes.
- Fixed an issue that would make some minigames unbeatable if you start them after hitting the photo limit.
- Fixed Beato's Woken Up pose not being scored.
- Fixed double-clicking on travelling Sonawings resulting in a permanent fade-out.
- Improved the hint text for Kuki Bird's Pecking pose.
- Made the lawnmowing minigame slightly easier by increasing the radius of the lawnmower.
- Adjusted the auto-detected graphical settings to prioritize performance slightly.
