Today, Akupara Games announces its partnership with Curious Fate to publish Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy!

Known for his work on the Borderlands series and as Creative Director of Curious Fate, Jason Shields has put together one of the coolest turn-based tactics games we’ve ever seen. With plenty to offer to both hardcore fans of the genre and newcomers alike, we cannot wait to show off more from Absolute Tactics! Expect a base difficulty that offers a respectable challenge for those new to the genre, but plenty for most diehard fans to sink their teeth into.



Absolute Tactics: Daughters of Mercy puts a modern spin on classic tactics-style games. Featuring a diverse cast of characters, enormous boss monsters, and a dark world embroiled in war, Absolute Tactics plunges players right into action as our hero Huxley and his dog Max build their team of allies to defend their home against a mysterious invading army.

Control your units and make use of their unique traits to dominate your enemies with masterful strategies that take advantage of unit placement, varied attack patterns, and skills that are as unique as each character. Furthermore, players will be equipped with an extensive class customization system, including the option to dual-class - resulting in deeper synergies and nearly endless combinations to push back the opposition.

We're excited to announce a new tournament, and this time it's something that's going to blow your socks off!

In 2013, we released the seminal tech demo "Sneak Peek" that gave you the first taste for Wreckfest (back then modestly called Next Car Game) and set the standard for our future endeavors. That was almost eight years ago, and now we're giving you the chance to relive the glory of that very tech demo! That's right - this update includes a new free track Wrecking Playground that's basically the tech demo reimagined, vastly expanded, improved and brought up to contemporary standards, not to mention that it's now available on all platforms. Not only that, but we also implemented a new tech demo inspired Extreme damage mode that cranks the visual damage knob all the way to 11 and disables gameplay health so you only get wrecked when you lose two or more wheels and the car is inoperable.

The tournament is themed around the Wrecking Playground environment, with the monthly event challenging you to score points by wrecking your car, destroying objects and getting airtime. To make sure you can really go to town with vehicular destruction, resetting the car will repair it instantly. The weeklies are timed events in which you need to collect the special Bugbear coins littered around the level as quickly as possible. And of course, since any tech demo remake wouldn't quite be the same without the iconic Speedbird with Next Car Game livery we're bringing it too back as a tournament reward.

And the best part? Wrecking Playground and the accompanying Extreme damage mode are both available in multiplayer as well. As a special trick, whenever the game mode is set to deathmatch or team deathmatch and damage mode to Extreme, single player or multiplayer, resetting will instantly repair the car just like in the tournament events so you can get the full Wrecking Madness experience with your friends as well!

As a standard practice, this release also contains a number of additional enhancements and bug fixes such as improved antialiasing and performance on PlayStation 5. Hi everyone! We’d like to first caveat that this is an experimental feature we’ve included – we are not going to develop this any further, but we want to include this for those that want to tinker.

To reach the required framerate for VR, we’d recommend a high end DLSS supported NVIDIA® card. The above video was captured in real time on an NVIDIA 2080S.

To access Ray-traced Reflections whilst in VR, head to the “Raytracing” menu to turn it on along with configuring a DLSS profile. Realtime Global Illumination and Ray-traced Shadows unfortunately cannot be enabled whilst in VR as the game does not boot.

Just to note, we don’t recommend turning this on by default and we cannot and will not take responsibility for any damage to hardware. We do, however, hope you enjoy experimenting with the feature!

To celebrate this collaboration, Adela will be featured in our app for the time being as the default mascot. However, at the end of this limited event's period, the default mascot will return to Nyanco. Afterwards though, users can still find Adela in this app's events folder and manually set her as the mascot of this app again.

TALESSHOP is a visual novel game development studio based in Korea, and they have recently released a new game, The Blind Of The New World. If you are an anime visual novel fan, don't miss this one!
