Paint Chips - PhatRobit
Summer is upon us, and with it comes an update to Paint Chips!

For a limited time from June 1st to July 31st there are 31 new Summer-themed items to obtain in the item shop! After purchase with either Chips or Bukkits, the items are yours to keep and wear whenever you please. There is also a new map that will only be playable during the Summer event.

We hope you all enjoy the event!

Of course there are many other new, updated and fixed things in this update, which are as follows:

  • New Stuff
    • Items in the item shop will now have a "New" tag on them when there are items you haven't clicked on, making it easier to see what's new in the future
    • Added a "Rules" button on the Title menu so you can look at the rules whenever you like
    • Added a small "loading" icon when loading in to a match
    • Medals have been added, which are extra things you can earn during matches as a small bonus for playing well:
      • Double Chip - Get two consecutive kills within 4 seconds of one another
      • Triple Chip - Get three consecutive kills within 4 seconds of one another
      • Quad Chip - Get four consecutive kills within 4 seconds of one another
      • Ultra Chip - Get five (or more) consecutive kills within 4 seconds of one another
      • Chipping Spree - Get 5 kills without dying
      • Chipping Frenzy - Get 10 kills without dying
      • Chipping Riot - Get 15 kills without dying
      • Rocket Spree - Get 5 Rocket Launcher kills without dying
      • Shotgun Spree - Get 5 Shotgun kills without dying
      • Sniper Spree - Get 5 Sniper kills without dying
      • Sword Spree - Get 5 Sword kills without dying
      • Chipjoy - Kill someone who is on a Chipping Spree
      • Assist - Earned when a target you dealt 50% or more damage to is killed by someone else
      • Revenge - Your next kill is against the player or bot that killed you last
      • Avenger - Kill a target that has recently killed one of your team mates
      • First Chip - Get the first kill of the match
      • Unchippable - Complete a match with 15+ kills and 0 deaths
    • New challenges have been added for earning Medals
    • You can now see the paint value on other players
    • Added 31 new Summer-themed items
    • Added a new Summer-themed map
    • Added a sound effect for charging up the Sniper weapon
    • Added a "free" icon tag to the Chip Boost button if you have a free VIP boost available
    • The Daily Challenges will now be posted to our Discord server each day
    • The match lobby UI has been updated to better indicate that you're in a lobby for both Quick Play and Custom Games
    • A dialogue message will now appear if you attempt to enter Quick Play or a Custom Game when you are not the group leader
    • A dialogue message will now appear if you attempt to enter Quick Play or a Custom Game while the server is shutting down
    • There is now an optional Practice Match option for new players that puts them in a private battle with 3 other bots
    • Added two new emotes
    • A new Shotgun weapon has been added to all maps
    • A new Sword weapon has been added to all maps
    • Added some new Daily Challenges for the new Shotgun weapon
    • Added some new Daily Challenges for the new Sword weapon
  • Changes
    • Weapon icons and pickups have been updated
    • A bunch of words were removed from the language filter
    • The language filter now replaces all censored words with the word "CHIP" instead of asterisks
    • The size of paint splats that the Sniper weapon leaves behind has been reduced
    • The charge rate of the Sniper weapon is now on a slight curve instead of linear (the charge length remains the same)
    • Blaster paint splats have been slightly increased in size
    • Rocket Launcher now paints the ground near you when fired
    • Increased the shot cooldown on Rocket Launcher to 1 sec (previously 0.65 sec)
    • Increased the length of time that player-dropped weapons stay on the ground by 5 seconds
    • Made adjustments to Daily Challenge descriptions
    • Added a short cooldown for the "I'm Stuck" button in the Social Lobby
    • Added a sprite to the Bomb to make them more visible on bright backgrounds
    • Adjustments were made to a few Daily Challenge rewards:
      • Matchmaker reward is now 1500 Chips (decrease)
      • Win some, Lose some reward is now 3000 Chips (decrease)
      • Too Many Pizza reward is now 6500 Chips (decrease)
      • Blast from the Past reward is now 2500 Chips (increase)
      • Rack em up reward is now 5500 Chips (increase)
    • The Development server will no longer be shown in the list of servers
    • Group members are now randomized when selecting teams, so larger groups (5+) will no longer split the same player to the other team every time
    • Some changes have been made to hitscan weapons (Sniper / Shotgun) in an attempt to reduce lag while using them
  • Fixes
    • Emotes will no longer be triggered while typing in chat
    • Fixed a minor issue with the Custom Game start button
    • Fixed an issue that caused players to get stuck on the "Finding Match" dialogue window
    • Fixed an unpaintable area on the Wonderland map
    • Fixed an issue that prevented you from firing your weapon after picking up a new one
    • Fixed an issue that allowed players to pick up weapons after dying
    • Bombs should no longer clip through walls
    • Fixed an issue that sometimes prevented Bombs from exploding
    • Players should no longer be split from their group when it's unnecessary
    • Fixed an issue that caused the Custom Game list to appear incorrectly

We’ll be selecting a few dozen more testers to test the game over the next week or so, after which the demo build may be taken down. A late 1990s Italian IFV sporting good mobility and outfitted with cutting-edge weapon systems and munitions.

In War Thunder, the Dardo IFV will soon be joining the ranks of the Italian ground forces tree as a much anticipated new light tank awaiting all tankers in the upcoming major update Red Skies. Extremely mobile and packing a serious punch with its advanced weapon systems, the Dardo IFV will quickly gain a reputation as being another formidable adversary to face in top tier ground battles!

As is commonplace for modern IFVs, Dardo’s primary armament too consists of an autocannon in the shape of the fully stabilized 25 mm Oerlikon KBA. The weapon sounds familiar? That’s because it’s the same cannon as found on the SIDAM 25 SPAAG. However, while the SIDAM 25’s anti-tank capabilities are rather limited, tankers won’t need to worry about the same with Dardo. Namely, as far as the cannon is concerned, Dardo has access to a more powerful APFSDS round, allowing it to deal damage even to more heavily armored targets at close ranges.





Being a highly anticipated vehicle by fans of Italian armored vehicles, the Dardo IFV will finally be making its way to War Thunder as part of the next major update Red Skies and will await all tankers at the top ranks of the Italian ground forces tree.
