Up until now, supplying machines with resources has been done using one type of inserters, in two variants: Tier 1 copper based, and a tier 2 upgrade which requires iron but has double the speed.
They work fine, but in some situations you have several belts to supply a machine, and you had to get a little creative, puzzle the environment a bit, to get all of them to connect to a machine especially for furnaces.
The game now also contains a long handed inserter, both a standard version and an MK double speed version.
These grab resources from one distance further than the regular inserter, effectively allowing you to run two belts in parallel and grab from both.
Double the creativity for supplying, and you can still route resources however you want. While adding these inserters I also improved the basic pickup animation from the regular inserters a bit, I'm quite happy with the result.

We are proud to announce that we are partnering with the It Gets Better Project as part of the launch for Grid Force - Mask of the Goddess.
We know that an indie game partnering with a charity while their game is still in development is a bit unusual, but we think this is an important step for indies to take. Games have a real impact on the lives of players. For the members on our team, we all have memories of making friends and finding support through the games we play, whether that’s passing a controller back and forth on the couch, swapping fan theories in a forum, or--as it is today--hanging out in Discord.
The old adage indies always hear is to “make the game you want to play.” What does that look like if you’re black and gay? What does that look like if you’re a woman in an industry with a long history of selling games with sex appeal over character depth? For us, it looks like Grid Force.
Representation in games matters because for many kids, playing a video game is their only way to get beyond their immediate bubble. The world is changing, but many LGBTQ+ children and young adults, still feel alone and isolated.
But you’re not alone. You might not be in the best situation right now, but you can join communities online or play games to hear stories like your own. The It Gets Better Project has been sharing this message for years, and we’re excited to get to be a part of that mission with our game.
We are kicking off this initiative with a Beta Showcase this weekend, live on Twitch and on Steam. For Steam, you can tune in over the weekend to meet our team members and see what we’re working on. For Twitch, we reached out to streamers who have championed inclusivity with their streams and invited them to give their communities a sneak peek of Grid Force.
