A SEE-THROUGH EXPERIENCE

While creating our arenas, we have introduced glass walls into our map editor, that can be used for strategic advantages. As for all our walls, there will be three types of hardnesses, with an additional one - the standard plate of glass that shatters upon impact. The main role of glass partitions is to allow the targeting of opponents on the other side, unlike a normal wall. Check out the demos we have created so far:

PRESS STATEMENT: MAKHOV, 2489.05.07.
Mr. Khamanec survives 5th assassination attempt

Ms. Anastasya Lyuba, Personal Assistant to Mr. Igor Khamanec has confirmed that Mr. Khamanec has been unharmed by a blotched attempt on his life by the separatist Tatar Dream Movement in Tsarsky-gorod this morning. Thankfully Mr. Khamanec was inside his custom-armored hovercar when the bomb was triggered and the Makhov protection was perfectly suitable to avoid injury even against the E4-SpiderMines used in the assassination attempt.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 - [Fatshark] Hedge
An absent-minded man of mysteries, Franz Lohner relies on his bulging journal to keep track of occurrences, intrigues and arguments around Taal's Horn Keep. Sometimes his notes are even useful, believe it or not. The Franz Lohner Chronicles are extracts from that journal.

Franz Lohner's Chronicle - The Other Damned Count

One of the benefits of our little forays into the Chaos Wastes is that I’m learning all sorts of interesting things. Take the notorious Count Mordrek the Damned. It’s a name I’ve heard scores of times over the years, and always in connection with the bloodiest of battles. Sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses, but he’s always back again after the curtain call, ready to give it the full Brass Keep beatdown all over again.

You see, Mordrek – if that’s really his name – is the recipient of a nasty little gift that scholars call “Living Damnation”. Catchy little name, ain’t it? The Chaos Gods just won’t let him die, it seems, though they’re certainly ready and willing to make his life miserable. Plenty of Chaos worshippers find themselves accumulating all manner of grisly mutations over time, be they useful – if unsightly – things like horns, tails, wings etc. or simple blemishes, goitres or revolting cosmetic accessories, like fur, scales or translucent skin.

I knew a fellow with translucent skin once, back in my mercenary days. Terrible card player. Every time he bluffed, you could see right through him. But I digress.

Mordrek’s not only functionally unkillable – it’s not so much a series of deaths and resurrections he experiences as it is a succession of pauses – he’s in a state of constant physical and mental flux, poor bugger, always teetering on the edge of becoming a Chaos Spawn. It’s a wonder he can make conversation at all, though I’m told he does. Erudite speaker, in fact – which most northlanders ain’t – with a flair for dramatic, purple prose … if in a maudlin, self-loathing kind of way.

I’ve lost my thread. Why did I start talking about this? That’s right! The Chaos Wastes.

So it turns out we’ve actually found the bugger’s fortress! I’ve been hearing rumours for years, but it’s not as though you get a lot of reliable witnesses passing south through the Chaos Wastes. Not ones you’d trust with a knife, or even a spoon. But yes, the legendary fortress of Count Mordrek the Damned is still out there … and like him, it’ll probably be around until the end of the world, which by my reckoning could be any time now.

I couldn’t tell you how, or why, but Mordrek’s fortress is every bit as resolute as its master. Knock it down, and it grows right up again, ready to face the next assault. We could do with a few of those in the Empire, I can tell you. Save a lot on building costs, it would, especially when the greenskins start tromping around and looking to cause mischief.

An immortal castle up in the northlands is simply asking for trouble … and at the moment, that trouble comes in the form of our conniving little ratman friends. Right now, they’ve got the whole area locked down in an endless siege. Either the skaven can’t take a hint, or they’ve seen opportunity in those cursed ruins. Maybe it’s the spoor of magic, or maybe that they can’t resist the challenge of casting it down. Doesn’t matter much to me. Every ratman that dies in the siege lines is one less ratman for us to kill.

I wonder if Mordrek knows his fortress is taking a beating? I must ask the Five to keep an eye out for him.

Tale of Ninja: Fall of the Miyoshi - LEONARDOLEE
Hi ninjas,
First, please allow me to introduce our working progress.
We almost finish all works for the next big update. Currently, we are still making map adjustments to make sure the environment looks much better than before. We are also doing the translation works. We expect to upload a new English version in the test brunch about ten days later. After that, maybe one or two weeks later, we can upload other languages' versions.

Today I want to share our new characters in the next update with you.
First is our new male ninja character. As you can see, the design gains some inspiration from Rikimaru (力丸).

The NPCs' models are too less in the last version. We add more high-quality cloth models for them.
New citizen

New farmer

New ninja

That's all for today. I hope you like them. As always, if you have any questions or suggestions, please leave a reply in the comments section. The discussion boards are also welcome.
Spacelords - TENKA

In the Lira Constellation, 25 light years far from Earth, there is a broken planet; Its countless fragments still orbit the nearby sun and most are inhabitable, but their fate is sealed; sooner or later they will be scattered through space, losing their atmosphere and becoming silent rocks drifting away forever.

Thousands of years ago, locals discovered a fabulous energy deep within their planet: THE ALEPH. This discovery took their civilization to new heights of well-being and technological development, enabling them to leap into the Cosmos, as one of the abilities of the Aleph was to bend space and cover interstellar distances. But some did not have enough and wanted to reach the primordial source of the Aleph, at the planet's core. To do that, they designed and built a giant extractor that bore into the planet, right to its very core, where the source of the Aleph supposedly was.

The experiment could not have ended worse: While attempting to channel the Aleph through the extractor, there was a brutal chain reaction, never before seen by researchers in the lab. The Aleph expanded in all directions, destroying everything in its path and irreversibly breaking the structural integrity of the planet. Thousands of cities and infrastructures were swallowed by the cracks; millions died in a matter of minutes...

Horrified by the scope and irreversibility of what they had done, they made a decision: Instead of escaping, they stayed on their home planet and accepted their destiny. Using their powerful science, they accelerated their evolution as a species towards the more peaceful side of their nature, removing any individual or collective tendency towards conflict, competitiveness, violence or urge for conquest. They abandoned the technology that had broken their world and instead began to transform themselves.

Today they live peacefully in small, self-sufficient settlements dispersed all around the planet. Those who did not agree were cast out into space. Some reached the Solar System, sowed on Earth the seeds of future Mankind and left traces of the fabulous technology that had enabled them to make the voyage from their native planet.

On Titan, one of Saturn's moons, a human expedition sent by a private, dark corporation finds the remains of a crash. It is a ship from the Broken Planet, one of those that were sent out long time ago and that for reasons unknown, crashed into the moon.

Among the remains, the expedition members find an Aleph reactor practically intact and partially charged. The Corporation keeps the discovery secret, decides to rebuild the ship and use that Warp Drive Technology to travel to the Broken Planet and take control of the fabulous Aleph energy.

Thanks to the information extracted from the alien ship, The Corporation knows that the local civilization nearly destroyed its own planet and that today they are not likely to put up much resistance. Despite that, they don't want to take any risks and decide to put the mission under military control. The Corporation does not want its activities to go public, so it turns to “the private sector” to compose its army: Dark mercenaries, professional assassins, private armies... All of them under the iron fist of a mythical retired former general who will be in command...

Paladin Dream - HitherYonGames
In 2019 I went on a trip to Italy with my family. I was born in Milan and lived my first year and a half there, but I had not been back since then and I have no conscious memory of it. So it was a personally powerful experience for me, as well as the joy of being surrounded by stunning architecture from the ancient world. Our travel plans lasted 18 days, and I was fortunate to experience numerous cities and regions of Italy. Since Paladin Dream is inspired by medieval Europe, I also imagined the world modeled after places in Italy that I had visited.

Cathedrals

With The Vatican as the center of Catholicism, Italy has many beautiful churches and cathedrals. We toured the rooftop of the famous Duomo di Milan, as well as visited other religious buildings in different cities. While churches had similarities, they each had their own unique character. The Duomo had rooftop stairwells reminiscent of the iconic level leading up to the battle with Dracula in Castlevania. A more somber church in Naples had a memorable crypt below the sanctuary. Florence and Sienna had more brightly colored churches. I wanted to capture the sense of history and respect I felt being in these areas, which led to some creative choices constructing Adrielian Abbey.

Tuscany

Tuscany is a region with lots of rolling hills, farms, and home to the incredible hilltop city of Sienna. While driving through Tuscany we stopped to tour a small castle town that felt right out of Dragon Quest. The warm, lush scenery of Tuscany inspired the land surrounding the abbey, and I wanted to share the sense of tranquility and peace I experienced in this part of the journey.

Bologna, Florence, and Naples

These three cities are all very diverse, but elements of each inspired design choices with Nazarfang and the surrounding area. Bologna used to be surrounded by a wall, and parts of it still stand today. The walls of Bologna inspired the walls of Nazarfang, which are heavily fortified and divide the city into different districts. Florence is a more artistic city, which still gives the impression of the Italian renaissance period. The Greatway District in Nazarfang draws influences from Florence, with its affluent hotels and shops, and elegant streets. Naples today is worse off sociology-economically than northern Italy, and the streets are less safe. (At one point in Naples a man on the street asked my aging father if he wanted to buy illegal drugs.) Naples also has underground tunnels, as well as an impressive fortress we visited, and these sights inspired the Underbelly District, Palace District, sewers, and catacombs.

Gressoney / The Alps

Gressoney is a sparsely populated village high up in the Italian alps mountain range. Staying overnight in a mountain lodge in Gressoney overlooking the town was extremely relaxing. The region is home to small farms, as well as enormous mountains that are too rugged for civilization. I even observed little adventurer-constructed paths up the steep cliffs that looked barely safe enough to walk on. Gressoney inspired the village of Duskmont, and the mountain wilderness above.

Pompei and Herculanium

Pompei and Herculanium are cities that were destroyed by a volcano, and contain ruins of a lost civilization. The lost city later in the game is inspired by the remains of these cities and the feeling of abandonment from visiting these areas.

Visualizing the Dream

Originally my design for Paladin Dream was to have 3 main regions in the game, including the area around Adrielian Abbey, the area around Nazarfang, and the mountain waste. Compared to being in Texas with its modern buildings, enormous superhighways, and broad plain, Italy felt like a very compact area with tight spaces. To make the exploration feel more European I kept the same feeling of close quarters when exploring the cities and countryside. With Italy’s gargoyle statues and religious themed paintings with devils, my real-life travel experiences helped to transform my vision and create an aesthetic where a story about a paladin felt natural and believable.

Thank you all for your ongoing support of this project! I really appreciate it 🙏

All the best,
Matthew
