Epic Games are continuing to do strange things that I do not understand. I'm not talking about that whole #FreeFortnite debacle with Apple (though I suppose this could be somewhat related). No, this time it's about the odd choices of PC apps they're bringing to their store. Today, they added the Itch.io app, which is another, better, game store that's technically> a competitor? They've added a handful of other apps too, and made a new section in the storefront where you can find them all - an app store, if you will.

Oh, to be a sentient turnip. A little stubby-legged jackanape with a serene, blank smile, several very fashionable hats, and a fondness for destroying paperwork. An unlikely hero, is Turnip Boy: he is a turnip, he is a boy, and he has evaded some taxes (specifically, taxes owed to Mayor Onion, an onion who is also the mayor). In this specific case, it's pretty clear that the tax thing is a flimsy excuse for Mayor Onion to get Turnip Boy to carry out dangerous and annoying errands. But off you pop on a colourful 2D action adventure anyway.

It's a little-known fact that Ubisoft generate product ideas by writing game names, mediums, target audiences, and such on scraps of paper, popping them into a big hat, then drawing a handful to discover their next big hit. This foolproof system recently produced the combination of [Assassin's Creed] [Book] [For Children, But Really For Parents] [Mister Men crossover], leading Ubisoft yesterday to announce a series of Mister Men and Little Miss books starring the murderers of Assassin's Creed.

Microsoft have confirmed that their upcoming DirectX tech to help eliminate game loading times, DirectStorage, will be supported by both PCIe 3.0 SSDs and the newer PCIe 4.0 drives. This is excellent news for SSD owners, as it means you won't have to shell out for an expensive PCIe 4.0 SSD like Samsung's 980 Pro or WD's Black SN850 to take advantage of this new storage tech.

Death Stranding's been a big hit on PC, judging by publisher 505 Games' recent financial report, and now Japanese peripherals maker Tsukumo are showing it some love with an official Bridges-themed PC case. The custom case has been designed in conjunction with developer Kojima Productions, and it recently launched in Japan for ¥26,800 (that's around £186 if you want to import it). It's a lovely-looking case, capturing the monolithic design of the game's Bridges buildings down to a tee. But let's be honest. If there's going to be an official Death Stranding PC case, why is it not shaped like an orange BB jar?

As Call Of Duty: Warzone has been teasing, its battle royale map Verdansk has indeed gotten nuked. Part one of The Destruction Of Verdansk has already kicked off, with later parts queuing up shortly after until season three lands on Thursday, April 22nd. If you can get through the login queue, it looks like you'll be doing your best to avoid becoming zombified and then getting a nuke dropped on you and all the zombies afterwards.
