I typed this out while sitting outside the college I attended 13 years ago. This is the place where I developed some of my game creation skills, and of course, a few of my earliest games ːcleahappyː.
Clea 2 uses the same engine as the first title. It was supposed to be a simple dev cycle, but being my first take at a simultaneous release, it turned out to be the hardest. I usually schedule things well, with no crunches toward the end. Recently, I joked about wanting to experience dying on the finish line. Karma is real, as I got what I wanted, whether it was setting my alarm to buzz at 2am, or grinding from 4am to 9pm on a Sunday, all meals in front of the computer.
And yet, I would do it again, over and over until I can make no more. Thanks to you, all of my dreams are coming true. Console releases, a discord community who pushes Clea’s mechanics and lore to their fullest. Plus, more exciting things I am not yet able to reveal.
But to be honest, I do not do this for any one person or group. The games I look up to (Ultimate Doom, Mario 3, XCOM and endless more), I wish to stroll alongside them, even if it is on a sidewalk. If all creators go to the same place when they perish, I want to make sure I will not be rejected at the door, either it is because I did something shady, or I did not dedicate my life to the craft. I want to die being buried with games.
Thank you for supporting Clea 2 on launch week and beyond. Indeed, there are no plans of a Clea 3, but you know, I do not seem to recall saying there will not be any more Clea related content.
Please keep it touch, pal. I am going back to work ːcleasunniesː.
This week, there aren't any gifs available for you, but images of the early accessories system. Let's take a look shall we?
We'd like start showing accessories with some basic shape concept designs. We think that basic shapes are one of the best accessories that will be available, as they can be used to fulfill a great amount of design gaps in armor parts, and doesn't have anything that seemed "too much" that it limits your usage.
This image here is a sample of non-uniform scaling for an accessory part. You can stretch and scale them however you'd like and create a perfect accessory for your part, now let's see how it'll look on an armor.
Here is a sample onto the Kaiser leg part, attached with some basic shape accessories. We're trying to make it very flexible and able to represent whatever your imagination wanted, we believe this will allow you to create a very unique item that is yours truly.
In time, more will be available, and we're taking a good hard look at your suggestions for accessories designs (bless you all in the suggestions channel and the Nolt feedback hub).
A small "oopsie" in the release of 0.54b 4 days ago meant that Steam leaderboards weren't being updated. This is essentially due to the fact that I disable them whilst in my development and testing phase and managed to not turn them back on.
