Legacy of Thracks - The Awakening is an epic, competitive asymmetric fantasy game with semi-coop elements. You control one of the three clan heroes (Warrior, Mage, Engineer) and tries to enter the legendary Dimara in time, or control the Shadow hero and prevent the other heroes from reaching Dimara. Beside your hero you (and anybody) can control the common Lost Souls too.



During the Awakening people started to change and the 3 clans were established based on their different abilities. But the Awakening has a purpose...it always had, and there is a dark secret behind it. After the long war between the clans the real brutal enemy appeared: the Shadows, whose goal is to eliminate humankind. The final battle is lost, and the world is in fire. The only hope is the ancient and mysterious Anduril race.

As a clan hero you have 9 days to reach the Anduril's capital, Dimara otherwise it will be too late and the Shadows will be unstoppable. You need to work together with other clan heroes against the Shadow, but be careful because only one hero can enter Dimara!

As a Shadow hero you must prevent the clan heroes from reaching Dimara in time.



During your journey you need to overcome as many magical barriers within 9 days as many you are able to, and also conquer castles, villages, fortresses and build roads.

To complete the magical barriers, you need to fulfill numerous secret missions, collect the ancient relics and increase your glory! To complete missions, you can use the Lost Souls to mine precious crystals. But be careful, the Lost Souls can be led by the other players too! During your adventure you can learn and improve special skills and can battle other heroes to increase your glory further.



As a Shadow hero activate the Sources of Darkness and your special shadow abilities, use black magic and your Metamorph skill to copy clan Heroesm and prevent them from reaching Dimara!


HammerHelm - Calandryll
Tonight's build is mostly to fix a bug I found with the new skills system that caused it to fail to update the skill UI tier unlock based on the number of houses you have after loading a save.

This build also some early updates to the combat system, including monster blocking and spellcaster buffs. These are both early implementations and are by no means finished, but rather than turn them off I decided to leave them in the build so you can check them out.

For now, only Goblins will block or cast buffs. Once a Goblin decides to block, he will remain in his block stance until you move away from him. This will change with the full implementation to allow monsters to decide how long to keep a block up on their own and/or when to perform a counter-attack after blocking. Right now they can block you power attacks, but that will also change as I work on the system.



Goblin spellcasters will cast buffs on their melee allies. The buff doesn't do anything yet but the spell animation and particles are in. In the shot above a Goblin spellcaster has placed an offensive buff on his friend. Note the red particle on the spellcaster's hand, the red particle on the melee Goblin and the buff indicator next to his healthbar. Offensive buffs will be red, defense will be yellow. Blue and green are reserved for attack spells like lightning, poison/acid and the mushroom-man barf attack.

For testing, and since the buff doesn't do anything yet, Goblin Spellcasters will always cast a buff. In the real system, this won't be the case, and the likelihood of a spellcaster casting a buff will increase with the monster's level.

Once the full system is in place, other monsters will block and cast buffs and you'll have skills to defeat these tactics such as Confuse and Shield Break.

Monsters will now also occasionally jump away from an attack and sometimes immediately counter attack. This is something I turned off a while back but re-added it as part of this update. I will likely make this maneuver unique to specific monster types, such as Ratmen and Mushroom-men, as part of the combat update.

  • Stalemating a boss no longer counts as a victory, unless you have the "Patience" artifact.
  • Invalid deploy placement of 2+ space units fixed.
  • Fixed "The Sage of Prosperity"'s ability not causing allies to gain energy.

Balance
  • Orthodoxy unit health reduced.
  • Chosen Cathar's bonus damage per point of Immortal Seed reduced from 100 to 25.
  • Vestal of Apotheosis' damage reduced from 25(+25 vs light)x2 to 30.
  • Vestal of Apotheosis no longer has Haste.
  • Difficulty of +2 and +3 random encounters increased.
RUBICON - Pyrebug Studios
Bug found in Graphical update with menu utilization, causes soft-lock of entire game and inability to play. Issue is so wide-spread we are temporarily reverting to a previous update to ensure players are able to access the game.

We have already found the source of the problem, as well as the solution. The fix is being tested and will be live on Steam tonight.

  • Add extra checks for differently-named VKB Gladiator NXT joysticks.
  • Fix a crash that could happen when starting the game.
  • Fix some menu elements getting stuck if reading the "What's New" during a match.
  • Fix a case where the Objective/Score screen would not update properly.
  • Fix some cases of dialog being cut off in training missions.
  • Increase audible range of missile launch sounds.
  • Auxiliary Pump: No longer causes a delay in powering up. Fuel generation starts once completely shut down. (will take effect on dedicated game servers in the next day or two)
