New Features for The Ancient Gods - Part Two for ALL platforms

Three New DOOM Eternal Campaign Maps (requires purchase of The Ancient Gods - Part Two, Deluxe Edition, or the Year One Pass)

The World Spear
  • The Slayer must seek out the World Spear on his journey to face the Dark Lord, as only a mysterious artifact hidden within the crystalline monolith will open the way to Immora. The cosmic spire towers over Argent D’Nur, with only those deemed worthy allowed entrance inside...
Reclaimed Earth
  • Hell’s invasion of Earth has failed, and the ARC has led human resistance in the fight to reclaim the planet. The Slayer must locate the Gate of Divum, an ancient artifact of the Father’s design, within the ruins of an overgrown city. Once activated, the path to Immora will be opened...
Immora
  • The final battle has begun. Using the Gate of Divum to access the heart of Hell, the Slayer now stands before the gates of Immora ready to face the Dark Lord. Armies now gather as the dark realm prepares for war and the coming conflict will decide the fate of all...

Barbarian Slayer Master Collection
  • "True strength of steel is in the hand that wields it." Gaze upon the Barbarian Slayer! This gallant barechested cosmetic is instantly unlocked upon purchase of The Ancient Gods - Part Two, Deluxe Edition, or the Year One Pass. Like all Master Collections, the Barbarian Slayer is loaded with progressibles like a slick podium, new podium animations, alternate skins, icons and player badges. For more info on how to progress through Master Collections click here.

New Weapon: Sentinel Hammer
  • A sacred weapon wielded by Commander Valen of the Sentinel armies. Powered by a massive infusion of Wraith energy, the Sentinel Hammer allows its wielder to stun and extract resources from demonic foes.

New World Traversal Option: Super Shotgun MeatHook Grapple Points
  • Use the Super Shotgun's Meat Hook on Grapple Points to traverse the world. Push yourself in the opposite direction of the Grapple Point to generate the momentum needed to round corners. Combine Double Jump, Dash and additional Grapple Points in the air to complete traversal puzzles.
New Enemy Variants

Armored Baron
  • The Armored Barons are powerful foes grafted with the technology of Immora. Just outside the city gates, they patrol with morning star gauntlets cursed by the Dark Lord himself; one devastating strike obliterates both body and soul. Even the Maykrs fear these creations of demon and machine, for their carnage is unquenchable.

Cursed Prowler
  • A binding curse of necrotic poison drips from the claws of the Cursed Prowler. Known in Hell to be one of the most treacherous forms of blood magic, only a few have the teachings to conjure such sorcery. Yet, Prowlers from the deepest and darkest hellpits have evolved to naturally produce such power from their fingertips. One swipe curdles the blood of their victim and drains them of their essence with each heartbeat. The only way to cease the curse is to kill the caster.

Demonic Troopers
  • Immora’s warrior caste defends the ancient city, keeping watch over the walls since the betrayal of their creator millennia ago. The imperial guard of Davoth remains an honored position amongst the citizens of Immora, wielding armor and weapons forged in the fires of hate and suffering. Their loyalty and devotion to Davoth is unwavering, having waited eons for the return of their rightful leader.

Screecher
  • The Screechers were once human worshippers of the Ra'Itha Va'Tuum, an ancient Hell cult, but instead of being rewarded for their devotion they were tortured in the Citadel of Anguish for millennia. They became malformed by their frustrations over the life-long deceit. Their blood-curdling screams of anger had fermented into something far more potent, an intoxicating power desired by all demon-kind.

Stone Imp
  • Imps that lost their lives on the battlefield are cast into the volcanic pits of the Burning Abyss. Bathed in Argent-befouled basalt and slag, they emerge reborn with flesh of stone. The new hide of the Stone Imp is impenetrable to most known weapons; only rapid multi-vibrations or the crushing force of a Sentinel Hammer can damage their rock-like exterior. In addition to their retained agility, Stone Imps can channel the pits of their rebirth and self-immolate in Hellfire.

Riot Soldier
  • Like their fallen comrades in arms, the once-valiant heavy infantry for Earth’s defenses have now succumbed to the darkness. Now marching under the banner of the Dark Lord, they unleash a firestorm upon humanity, Sentinels, and any other thing in their warpath. Emboldened by blessed shields raided from Urdak, the riot soldiers firmly assert their dominance within combat.

New Boss Fight: The Dark Lord
  • Ancient gods bear witness as the Slayer and The Dark Lord enact the rite of combat before the throne room of Immora, a challenge to determine the fate of existence.
Escalation Encounters

  • Escalation Encounters are encounters with two waves of increasing difficulty. Only the second wave is optional. Beating the first wave grants a Sentinel Hammer upgrade. Beating the second wave grants a cosmetic.
Exclusive Deluxe Slayer Skins in each level

Exploration has never been more rewarding! If you can complete the optional second Escalation Encounter in each level, you will unlock new Slayer skins.

Deluxe Slayer Skins include:
  • World Spear
  • Survivor
  • Hellforged

New Milestones means New Rewards
The Ancient Gods - Part Two has a whole new set of milestone challenges, which unlocks new gear when completed:
  • Skins
  • Podiums
  • Icons
  • Player Badges
  • Podium Animations
  • Weapons Skins
  • Menu Backgrounds
  • Gold Barbarian Slayer Skin for completing the new expansion in Extra Life mode with 5 Extra Lives in your inventory

Weapon Note: The Crucible is not available in The Ancient Gods – Part Two. This is by design.

Known Issues - ALL platforms
The Ancient Gods - Part Two - Campaign
  • Mancubus glory kills focused on their heads do not return a 1UP while using Take Back Support Rune
  • Manually reloading the checkpoint after the wall breach combat encounter in Immora may result in AI, environment hazards and effects not loading. The recommended workaround if encountered as of now is to restart the level.
  • In Earth Reclaimed the Cacodemon in front of the UAC Fortress entrance may respawn invisible and attack the Slayer

DOOM Eternal: Update 5 Patch Notes

General Updates - for ALL platforms

New "Racecar" HUD Options
  • A new, optional feature known as the Reticle Ability Indicator allows you to position icons for certain important mechanics near your reticle so you are able to track when they are ready to use and improve your effectiveness.

New Weapon Wheel Open Delay (in milliseconds)
  • Adjust switch weapon versus Weapon Wheel timing based on the button press/hold

BONUS BOOM
  • Cooldown reduction added to Bonus Boom upgrade

GENERAL
  • Slayer melee damage to player demons is now only 1 damage

  • Fixed a bug where vacuumed health drops that were not picked up turned invisible but remained active
  • Fixed an issue that allowed the Archvile to place the Flame Wall on top of the Slayer
  • Fixed a bug where the Extinction Level Slayer Milestone did not track when demon players were killed with the BFG

Campaign Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where reloading a checkpoint or exiting to the Main Menu shortly after unlocking Fast Travel for any level resulted in Fast Travel becoming unavailable.

Known Issues
Campaign
  • ModBot – the Slayer animates for current equipped mod, not for what is acquired, then doesn't switch to new mod. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming update. In the interim, manually equip the new mod as a workaround.
BATTLEMODE
  • VFX persist when killed while under the effects of Team Heal
  • The Slayer can burn a Chainsaw pip when attempting to use the Chainsaw on a ledge-grabbing demon
  • The Revenant's lasers may persist in third person after firing a Rocket Barrage
  • The Archvile’s Flame Wall upgrade may not consistently produce fireballs when taking fire from the Slayer
General
  • Skyboxes appear grainy on the AMD Vega 56 GPU
  • For best performance on the NVIDIA GTX 1650 GPU, use driver version 457.51 (you can download them from NVIDIA here)
  • Players using an NVIDIA GTX 1050i may experience a black flickering effect when playing with V-Sync set to “Triple Buffering” or “On”. If encountered, use a different V-Sync setting as a workaround.

Solace Crafting - Malkere
New biome colors and flora have made their way onto beta!

The ocean biome now has a variety of coral and rocks in it. I've realized today that I'm going to need a new type of AI for aquatic creatures as they'll need to move in 3D, so that's my main goal for tomorrow.

Pushed a first wave of this last night, but had some problems with the fog math. The weather math is still a bit of a work in progress, but it's nearly finished. And now my wife is telephoning me from the bedroom because it's way past my bedtime!

v 0.7.3.2 2021.03.18
- Updated the core weather system to a completely random yet highly controlled system
- Added fog and sky colors to the biome/weather management system
- Added coral and rocks to the ocean floors (WIP)
- Fixed a couple problems with fog math in yesterdays patch

You may need to restart Steam for the update to begin.

To opt into Beta you only need to go to your Steam Library, right-click on Solace Crafting, select Properties, click on the Beta tab, and opt-in to the beta.

Hood: Outlaws & Legends - Jellyfoosh

Greetings Outlaws,

Our third class gameplay trailer is here! Today, we show off the Brawler - jump into the trailer with game director Andrew Willans as he tells you about all the ways you'll smash your foes to dust as John. This is the third of a 4-episode series of gameplay trailers covering each of the four classes, so get ready for the fourth and final video next week!

https://youtu.be/7m2yHqnUDd0
Dominate your foes with brute force

The Brawler is a man who exchanged his blacksmith’s hammer for a sledgehammer, vowing to battle against the corruption that plagues his country. A master of melee combat, the Brawler excels at holding defensive lines, creating new paths for allies, and of course, team fights. His powerful weapon is capable of wide sweeps to clear groups of enemies, overhead attacks to instant-kill unarmored targets, and a sprint attack which knocks nearby targets off their feet.

The Brawler can also lift open portcullises for allies when areas have gone under lockdown - perfect for making an escape from alerted guards, or to further punish the enemy team for getting caught. Explosive grenades bring even more destruction, capable of taking out a group of elite knights, eliminating a sniper hiding in a crow’s nest, or putting the Sheriff down. His Ultimate Ability, Wrath, calls on the Brawler’s bestial fury to push his physical strengths to their limits, gaining increased durability and infinite stamina to relentlessly chase and defeat targets.

Commanders!

This week, we’ve prepared another set of attractive items for you:
  • Elite Commanders
  • AFT-10 Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • Stryker ADATS Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • BMPT Mod.2000 Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • AMX 10 RCR Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • PTZ-89 Tier 7 Premium Tank Destroyer
  • Commander Loot Crate
Between March 18 and March 25, 2021, the following items will be available:

Elite Commanders

Some of the most popular and requested commanders are making a comeback in bundles together with Insignia and Boost tokens chosen specifically to allow for their faster training.

The commanders available are:
  • Alexander Cortez
  • Alisa Korhonen
  • Erin O’Connell
  • Austin Harper
  • Ophelia Kitescu
Please note that these bundles come with special Platinum Armored Warfare boost tokens, the best progress boosters available in the game. You can read more about them in our dedicated article.

As for the commanders themselves, this guide will provide you with useful tips on how to configure their skills.

AFT-10

The AFT-10 is a tracked ATGM carrier based on a ZBD-04 IFV hull that carries eight massive Red Arrow-10 guided missiles. In their latest version, these modern ATGMs are capable of devastating even the most modern MBTs at extreme distances and the AFT-10 was designed to do just that – to stop enemy assaults dead in their tracks. You can read more about it in our dedicated article.

In Armored Warfare, the AFT-10 is a Tier 10 Premium Tank Destroyer. Its massive ATGM launcher immediately draws comparison with another Tier 10 vehicle, the Kornet-EM. But where Kornet-EM is all about speed, stealth and missile ambushes, the AFT-10 is about one thing and one thing only – uncompromising firepower. It is capable of unleashing devastating missile salvos that can knock out even Tier 10 MBTs in seconds. Additionally, its missiles have a very high penetration value, which means that no matter the angle, no target is truly safe from its reach.

The AFT-10 Tier 10 Premium TD is available in our Web Shop via Loot Crates. Collect 100 blueprint pieces from these crates to obtain the vehicle.

Stryker ADATS

ADATS stands for “Air Defense Anti-Tank System,” describing its purpose very well. The system is intended to engage both air and ground armored targets. It was developed in the 1980s by a Swiss company called Oerlikon-Contraves and was offered as an interesting hybrid that would be able to deal with both Soviet tanks and helicopters or attack planes. Unfortunately for it, it came too late – only Canada would actually accept it in service and the end of the Cold War meant the end to all attempts at its large-scale introduction. The ADATS missiles were quite large but, more importantly, extremely fast and were certain to be extremely destructive to any Soviet armored targets, even though this thankfully never had to be tested in real combat. The ADATS turret was offered for a wide variety of platforms and was actively installed on a vehicle that is kind of like a cousin to the Stryker, the Canadian LAV-III. In this configuration, the vehicle was called MMEV.

In Armored Warfare, Stryker ADATS is a Tier 9 Premium Tank Destroyer. It is a wheeled vehicle armed with two weapon systems – powerful long-range guided missiles and short-range unguided rockets, offering it some survivability in short range combat as well as the ability to deal tremendous damage if left to its devices.

BMPT Mod.2000

The BMPT Mod.2000 is, as its name suggests, one of the earliest models of the famous Russian BMPT series, also known under the name “Terminator.” The word BMPT stands for “tank support combat vehicle,” which is exactly what the machine was designed for – to accompany tanks to battle and support them (predominantly in urban environments) against enemy infantry. It consists of a MBT-class hull (a modified T-90 one) and an unmanned turret, armed with a single 30mm automatic cannon and a single four-tube launcher for Kornet-E ATGMs. This particular model was shown to general public in 2000, but didn’t get much attention. It was overhauled almost immediately to the iconic twin-autocannon configuration that’s being used to this day.

In Armored Warfare, the BMPT Mod.2000 is a Tier 8 Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s a heavy duty vehicle with its hull offering excellent protection for its class. The turret, albeit lightly armored, only takes reduced damage. Even though this vehicle only features a single 30mm autocannon (unlike all the other BMPT series vehicles in the game), this is compensated by the presence of powerful ATGMs that make the BMPT Mod.2000 an extremely potent tank killer.

AMX-10 RCR

The AMX 10 RCR is the updated variant of the French AMX 10 RC fire support vehicle by GIAT, originally developed in the early 1980s. This light and nimble wheeled 6x6 AFV was armed with a 105mm gun, allowing it to knock out even armored targets at considerable distances. Over 200 of these aging vehicles were upgraded by Nexter in 2010 with improved armor and electronics, enabling them to fulfill modern battlefield tasks until their eventual replacement by the Jaguar. You can learn more about its history in our dedicated article!

In Armored Warfare, the AMX 10 RCR is a Tier 8 wheeled Premium Tank Destroyer. It’s incredibly agile with its wheeled chassis allowing it to outrun pretty much any enemy on the battlefield save for the fastest AFVs. Its gun accuracy is also top notch, making this vehicle perfect for sniper-style gameplay as its thin armor can’t protect it against enemy shells at close distances. This vehicle also comes with the Hydraulic Suspension active ability.

PTZ-89

Lacking any advanced main battle tanks in the 1980s as well as proper funding, China resorted to more creative means to destroy enemy MBTs, including gun-equipped tank destroyers. The PTZ-89, or Type 89, is one such vehicle. It was developed in the 1980s, but was only ever produced in small numbers. It was armed with an indigenous 120mm smoothbore gun with loading assistant. Its firepower was judged to be inferior to the Soviet 125mm smoothbore and the caliber was discontinued in the 1990s along with the production of this vehicle.

In Armored Warfare, the PTZ-89 Tier 7 Premium Tank Destroyer is an excellent tracked sniper. What it lacks in armor, it more than makes up for in its firepower, delivering lethal blows at long distances. It is quite mobile and easy to operate, a perfect addition for any vehicle collection.

Commander Loot Crate

This week, we’ve prepared another special offer for you in the form of a brand new Commander Loot Crate, featuring, amongst other things, some of the rarest commanders in the game!

This Loot Crate gives you the opportunity to obtain the following items:
  • Commander Ofelia Kitescu
  • Commander Austin Harper
  • Commander Alexander Cortez
  • Commander Alisa Korhonen
  • Commander Erin O’Connell
  • Commander Jorge Alvarez
  • Commander Joshua Seagrove
  • Commander Fyodor Sokolov
  • Platinum Commander XP Insignia tokens
  • Gold Commander XP Insignia tokens
The mechanics are very simple. Each crate allows you to win one of the listed items (or its value in Gold if you have it already, in this case 1.000 Gold per commander).

To learn more about what's in a chest simply click on it, this will launch a small pop up window to show you what’s inside!

Please note:

After opening the crate, you will immediately roll on one of the items that are inside this Loot Crate and will see what you receive before you have to actually pay anything. No more random chances – you immediately see what you get and what you don’t. You can then opt to purchase the item you rolled on for the Loot Crate’s price. Until you do so, you will be unable to buy any other Loot Crate of the same type.

We hope that you will enjoy the offer and, as always:

See you on the battlefield!

Gorilla Tag - Lemming
Hey guys! This patch took a little longer to get out than I wanted, so thanks for bearing with me. I’m still learning a lot about the game development process, so I’ve been trying to take things a bit slowly and carefully. There were some issues with the way I was validating cosmetics, so it turns out to be lucky that it took me a little bit longer, since if I had released this late last week, there’s a good chance it would have exploded immediately. There’s still a good chance it will explode right now. I really hope that doesn’t happen!

This patch includes initial support for cosmetics. I think they look pretty great! I wouldn’t exactly consider myself an artist, but I’m really pleased with how they turned out. I hope you guys like them too! Right now, this is not available on native quest; that is, you can see other people wearing the cosmetics, but you won’t be able to buy them yourself. There are some technical limitations behind this, namely that right now, I can’t directly sell add ons for money on App Labs. I don’t want to create a parallel account system in order to support that, since I’d need to build out a way to create a separate account, validate your purchase, and hook it up to your Quest somehow, none of which I already know how to do (so I’d need to learn), and this would take a huge amount of time and effort, which I’d rather spend working on the game directly. I’m hoping this will become possible sooner rather than later, so I really appreciate your patience.

There’s also a bunch of QOL changes in this update, like push to talk/push to mute, a little speaker icon next to your name when you’re talking, a new queue, ways to join matches with your friends, and more. For details, please read all the patch notes. Basically, with this patch I’m hoping that I can keep working on a lot of the rough edges currently in the game. I want to make it a more smooth process for people to play the game the way they want, including trying to make it easier for good players to play against other good players, and everyone to be able to play with their friends more easily.

As for what’s next, now that the App Labs version is out, I’m hoping that it will be easier for me to do some more consistent, smaller patches, since it should be much less of a pain in the butt to get the game updated. Right now, I’m working on some more granular reporting (so you can be more specific as to whether your report is about someone being bigoted, or cheating, or harassing certain players, or griefing lobbies, things like that), so it isn’t one big catch-all. I’m also working on a new canyon map that’s going to focus more on wall jumps, I’m really excited for it and I think it’ll be super cool.

All that said, I have one bad piece of news. I’m unfortunately currently stuck in a hotel in quarantine. I’ve had a pretty big family issue crop up, and while I don’t want to get into details for personal reasons, I thought it would only be fair to let you guys know that it’s going to impact my ability to get stuff out. I brought everything I need to keep working on the game, so I’m still going to be doing that, but I thought I’d let you guys know because it’s going to slow me down. I really appreciate all the support you’ve given me so far in terms of playing and sharing the game, and I’m really excited about the future of the game, but at the end of the day family comes first. I’m hoping everything turns out ok and things can get back to normal soon. Thanks for your understanding, and I hope you enjoy the patch!
