After many adoption attempts, I have only recently become a loving father to a boar in Valheim. It's both a blessing and a privilege, but I feel like little Hammy Wammy needs to loosen up a little. Get a bit of fire in his belly, you know? As always, a mod has come to the rescue, and this one lets you tame and breed creatures that aren't normally tameable, like trolls. Finally, my boar son can learn from the worst.

AMD are hoping to launch their answer to Nvidia's AI-driven upscaling DLSS tech later this year, according to a new interview with PC World. DLSS is currently one of the only ways to achieve playable frame rates at high resolutions in games that support ray tracing at the moment, but AMD's version of it, FidelityFX Super Resolution, isn't currently available on any of their next-gen RX 6000 Big Navi GPUs. It's one of the reasons why I was so down on the Radeon RX 6700 XT yesterday in my review, but AMD's Radeon boss Scott Herkelman called FidelityFX Super Resolution (or FSR) one of the "biggest software initiatives we have internally [at AMD]" and that the company "wants to launch it this year". I wouldn't get your hopes up for an imminent release, however, as he also said there's still a lot of work to do before it's ready for primetime.

Electronic Arts' subscription service EA Play was supposed to become a part of Xbox Game Pass For PC back in December, but on the day it was supposed to arrive, it got delayed into this year. The wait is nearly over though, because today's the day that a big selection EA's games will be available to all Xbox Game Pass members. The Sims, Star Wars: Squadrons, a couple of Battlefields, and tons more will soon be included in your subscription at no extra cost.

One year after delaying Dying Light 2—a year filled which quickly filled with reports of 'development hell' and counterclaims that it really is fine, okay, so stop asking—developers Techland now say the zombie-bashing first-person shooter sequel will launch in 2021. This comes a few days after the company admitted they announced the game too early. But this year, for real, yuh huh.

AMD's Radeon RX 6700 XT may not be the best value 1440p graphics card there's ever been, but when its nearest Nvidia competition are both utterly sold out due to the ongoing graphics card shortage, you might be thinking it's worth picking one up anyway. All things being equal, I'd probably urge you to wait until either the cheaper RTX 3060 Ti or similarly-priced RTX 3070 come back in stock, but if you're determined to get yourself a new graphics card right this second, then I've gathered together all the places where you can buy an RX 6700 XT when it goes on sale later today at 9am ET / 1pm GMT.

While watching a Twitch stream of Crusader Kings III the other day, the chat was asked which starting nations and characters they've played as in the past. The vast majority of responses were: "Munster, Ireland" - the Petty Kingdom given to you by the game's tutorial for new players.

I'm fairly sure that says something about the unprecedented approachability of Crusader Kings III. An amazingly comprehensive set of tutorials, and a superbly clear and well-designed UI, both work alongside a host of other improvements to smooth out the mountainous learning curve of its predecessor. Never has it been easier for new players to jump into one of Paradox's legendary Grand Strategy titles.

Mid-life crisis detective RPG Disco Elysium was a favorite of mine, and a lot of other folks, when it launched in 2019. It's about to get even better, thanks to The Final Cut edition that's adding new quests and lots and lots of additional voice acting. ZA/UM have announced via a new trailer that the free update will launch on March 30th.

I will preface this post with the disclaimer that I only half understand what's going on here but it sure is neat. Fontemon is a Pokemon parody. Okay, got it. You can play it in your browser or download it. Cool, understood. It is inside a font. Wait, what? Yes, the game exists as a font file. The best way to understand is probably to come on in and try it out.
