I can't tell whether it's an act of kindness or lifemurder that Eve Online is launching a cloud gaming version you can play inside a browser. Developers CCP say Eve Anywhere, as they call it, removes barriers to entry for newcomers while being "extremely convenient" to veteran players. Which might be a polite way to say that serious spacefolks can be called into emergency action even when away from their gaming PC?
PlayWay, the publisher behind innumerable weird simulators, today announced one of their most curious yet. WW2 Rebuilder is a game about cleaning up and rebuilding European city streets in the aftermath of World War 2's devestation, and w h a t. In the manner of Train Station Renovation or House Flipper, the game will have us clearing rubble, scrubbing walls, salvaging supplies, rebuilding everything from plumbing to railways, repainting, and redecorating. What. See for yourself in the trailer below.
Yakuza games are rightfully praised for their brilliant localisation, legendary side-missions, and stellar voice acting. Good, great. But I reckon there's one aspect of these games which deserves a solid pat on the back, and it's something I will now aggressively tap into the limelight with my clacky mechanical keyboard. And that's the typewriter-y noise that un>-voiced NPCs make in conversation. I can't get over how good it is.
Crimson Heist, the first new season of Rainbow Six Siege's sixth year, has landed. It brings with it lots of goodies too, including the fashionable new operator Flores and a rework to the Border map. It actually seems like a pretty good time to drop back into the tactical FPS if, like me, you haven't played it in a while. Ubisoft have lowered the prices of a bunch of operators, and some new features like a match replay function have been added too.
Amazon US have slashed the prices of dozens of HyperX PC peripherals today, including several of their wired and wireless gaming headsets, three keyboards and two mice. Chief among them is the Cloud Flight, their excellent wireless headset which is currently $40 off right now, matching its Prime Day price of $100 to boot.
Remarkably, my friends and I's viking clan entered The Carrot Age in Valheim last week. Given the magnitude of what we'd accomplished, we thought our great march into Orange County and beyond would slow. Hah, how naive we were. For we have welcomed new life into our camp; a hairy, robust life that we deeply cherish. I am delighted to announce that we are now loving fathers to a boar, and we will do anything to protect it.
Wizards Of The Coast have announced the new third-person RPG Dungeons & Dragons: Dark Alliance is coming out on June 22nd, and I couldn't be more excited. It's a spiritual successor to the old Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance games that first launched on the PlayStation 2 way back in 2001. The new Dark Alliance seems to be doing it's own thing away from those oldies though, with a chilly new setting and a new story to boot - but some of the characters will likely be familiar.
After months of waiting, the official release of Intel's new 11th Gen Rocket Lake CPUs is now just a couple of weeks away. Launching as planned at the end of March, Rocket Lake will not only usher in a whole new generation of Intel gaming processors, but several key tech improvements that finally bring them up to speed with AMD's Ryzen 5000 series. Chief among them is support for the super fast PCIe 4.0 standard, but perhaps more importantly, Rocket Lake will also see the introduction of memory overclocking on a much wider range of motherboard chipsets than ever before. So to help you prepare for Intel's 11th Gen CPUs, here's everything you need to know about their new Rocket Lake chips, including their specs, backwards compatibility with Comet Lake and more.
Picture a forest. Centuries of trees tower above you, swaying in the breeze and casting dappled sunlight upon you. You've walked several miles alongside a lazy river, waiting to for a pool deep enough to swim. Suddenly, you hear the revving of an engine and splintering of wood. An electric guitar kicks in. Buddy, you've just stumbled into the hella rockin' trailer for a new Farming Simulator 19 DLC, which DELIGHTFULLY cuts between footage of forestry machinery and a fella shredding on his guitar. It reminds me a bit of ye olde Faming Sim noscope meme videos.
