Sid Meier's Civilization 6 is not the sort of game I expected to add zombies, and yet developers Firaxis have announced just that. Last night, they dropped some details about the strategy game's next paid DLC, which arrives on March 25th. It's introducing a Zombie Defence mode where dead units can spawn as bitey corpses and infect your other troops. It's also bringing some slightly more normal stuff, like a new leader and civilisation in the Portugal Pack, as well as a couple more World Wonders.

The MIX's Game Dev Direct happened a couple of days ago, and I've been catching up on all the cool indie games that were shown off during the event. One that's caught my eye is GRIME, a metroidvania where you play as a character with a black hole for a head. A literal spacetime-deforming blob for a skull. And you know what? It looks like a good time.

Fortnite Chapter 2 Season 6 has arrived in the usual Fortnite fashion, with a whopping great event that has changed the game's map and added in a load of new stuff to discover. This season, named Primal, has introduced, well, lots of "primal" things. You'll be able to explore a new prehistoric biome, hunt animals across the island, and use their loot to craft yourself some weapons.

The seemingly endless loading times of GTA Online will soon become less loathsome, because Rockstar have confirmed they're implementing a fix for an issue found by a player. At the end of February, someone known as "t0st" had a good rummage in GTA's code to figure out why Online loaded so much slower than singleplayer, and came up with a solution that made it 70% faster on their PC. Well, Rockstar say they've investigated, confirmed the issue, and made some changes we'll see in a future patch. Amazing scenes.

Update: It might now be live? Surprise!>

Look, does Ladykiller In A Bind have loads of sex in it? Yes. Does that form a large part of the appeal for a bunch of people? Probably also yes. But there's an option to make all the sex stuff PG if you want (like, you can skip sex scenes, or have all the nudey characters wear Christmas jumpers), and I think if people weren't distracted by all the BDSM, more of them might talk about the social currency game that makes up the rest of it.

Remember when we went from neon text away messages to status updates that started with a mandatory "Your Name is..."? I sure do, though not willingly. Social media series Emily Is Away is likewise fleeing the world of instant messaging and moving to "Facenook" just like so many of us did in 2008. Emily Is Away 3 officially launches on April 16th and you can take a look back in time right now in this horrifyingly accurate new trailer.

So, what did you folks get up to in viking craft 'em up Valheim this weekend? My pals and I went on several excursions to the mountains so we could finally gear up with frost arrows for our Bonemass fight. Now I've shown up on Monday to find out that some other, much cooler vikings have gone out for a day on the water and invented water skiing. Of course they have.

Wacky-looking 3D platformer Balan Wonderworld is making its debut in just over a week. Former Sonic Team heads Yuji Naka and Naota Ohshima are involved, so folks seem curious to find out if Balan's two young protagonists can fill those classic platforming shoes. They may yet, but they'll get an assist from an early patch to address player feedback from Balan's demo, Square Enix have announced.

After 17 months without a notable patch or new content, Surviving Mars today got back to work with a free update expanding the colony-building sim's tourism systems. As they announced over the weekend, publishers Paradox Interactive have handed Haemimont's game over to another studio to resume development. A new full-on expansion is due later this year, but they started the return small today with the Tourism Update and a wee paid DLC. You can send tourists on sightseeing spacecar tours, for one.
