I love a good grappling hook, and Sannabi: The Revenant is an action platformer all about using a grappling hook to swing through levels and skewer enemies. It's a bit like Katana Zero, too, and there's a demo available for the next week.

THQ Nordic announced today that they've established a new studio to make Gothic Remake, a fancy modern take on the fantasy RPG from 2001. This is the do-over they first revealed with a 'playable teaser' in 2019, which they released supposedly to gauge whether it was worth continuing. Based in Barcelona, Alkimia Interactive actually started up in summer 2020, but now THQ Nordic are out here shouting about the paperwork being settled.

The Ultimate Team mode in FIFA has found itself at the heart of another conspiratorial scandal. Mere days ago, EA announced the end of a lawsuit which had alleged they were rigging matches. Now, some believe that an employee might be selling rare and valuable footballers for vast sums of real money. EA say they are investigating the allegations, and "will take swift action" if they uncover wrongdoing.

If you build it, they will come, as the old saying goes. In this week's episode of The Electronic Wireless Show podcast, we discuss some of our favourite buildings in games. At least, that is the stated intent. In reality, this becomes one of those episodes where at some point I drop the reigns and don't really manage to pick them up again.

There is game chat, yes, but also a lot of talk about pizzas, Matthew's concerns about eating pork, and the British Museum. Strangely, we are low on fish chat this week. I think over time we are gradually transitioning to being a podcast about the specific food anxieties of one man.

I remember doing these chemistry tests in school, where I'd frantically copy the movements of the person next to me as they shuffled round the lab, in a desperate attempt to pass. Size Matters looks to capture this stress, but elevate it to new heights. Well, the opposite, I suppose, as you play a shrinking scientist who must concoct an antidote before it's too late.

All-singing, all-dancing laptops like the Asus ROG Strix Scar 15 and Gigabyte Aorus 15G are all well and good if you've got buckets of cash lying around, but let's face it, most of us balk at spending over two grand on a gaming laptop, even if we were buying it as a desktop replacement. At £1300 / $1450, the Asus TUF Dash F15 is still pretty expensive as gaming laptops go, but this RTX 3070-powered machine still packs a pretty decent punch for the money, and it's also one of the few RTX 30 laptops this year to come with one of Intel's new 11th Gen H-Series Tiger Lake CPUs.

You can now check out the latest game from the makers of Life Is Strange for zilcho, nowt, nothing, nada, because they've made episode 1 of Tell Me Why free forever. It's another faintly supernatural story-o-rama, this time about two twins revisiting memories of their childhood in small-town Alaska, which they both recall differently. The full story was released in three weekly episodes, starting in August 2020, so the freebie is a fair chunk.

Stellaris is one of the best strategy games around on PC, but Paradox's grand 4X space epic can be a daunting prospect if you're new to the genre. Happily, the latest Humble Bundle makes it incredibly easy to give it a go, as you can now pick up the base game for as little as 70p / $1. Indeed, the entire bundle is themed around the game, and those looking to truly immerse themselves in this galactic space opera can also get seven DLC packs for just £10 / $15. A true bargain if ever I saw one.

Northgard is the only RTS I routinely play. It's extremely pleasant to look at, it's easy to understand what's going on at all times, and it finds ways to introduce complexity and depth without resorting to large building and technology pools. It's as delightfully enjoyable to return to after a while away as it is challenging to avoid starvation and defeat.
