We are slowly rebuilding the foundation and getting ready to add more content. Since the publisher representative already revealed the secret - There will be a Kickstarter campaign starting soon. The demo will stay here but ... if you decide to back us up one of the prizes will be access to things that will not be included in this demo. At some point, we will have to stop developing the demo and move on to the full dev. More about the game future in the separate thread.

Here's what's new in this version

New:

- Added new enemy - Psyborg. The enemy is now in a basic AI form but later it will act as a sniper unit.
- you can now play with a gamepad and reconfigure the controls in the control menu (* there is one bug described below)
- new battle music, enviro and UI sounds

Fixed
- Ladders should be more comfortable to use. Now you can move up and down the ladder and if you press the jump button then you can jump off the ladder.

Changed
- removed Minimap - why? It has to do with the full version. You will be able to add a minimap as a usable item after you find it on the level. In the full version, Player will be allowed to carry 4 items in total including weapons, armor or any extra items. You will only be able to modify your setup in the safe zone after you leave the level alive. More about the safe zone (or Loadout) in a separate thread.

  • Fixed an issue where the Gate of Fates node “Toxic Emanations” would sometimes only apply one stack of Poison to one enemy.
  • Fixed an audio glitch that could randomly happen at the end or beginning of the prologue’s cutscenes.
  • Fixed an issue where the damage of the bounces would be decreased instead of increased when using the elemental variants of “Thunderstrike”.
  • Fixed an issue where “Snuffles, Good Doggie” could be found too frequently and without its minimap icon on certain maps.
  • Fixed an issue where the modifier “Balanced Handle” for “Anvil's Woe” would not mention an ailment chance reduction.
  • Fixed an audio issue that could happen when rapidly using the “Hungering Flesh” skill for the Aspect of Flesh.
  • Fixed a mismatch between dialog and subtitle during the Chapter 1 quest “Meet the Purifiers”.
  • Fixed an issue where it would be possible to bypass the event taking place after talking to Gernese during the Chapter 2 quest “Journey into Madness”.

Since Phil's passing, Ionized Studios has now grown again to be a two person team! Tahsina (Phil's wife) has come onboard the IronWolf project to help with general business duties, which has been fantastic as it lets me focus on technical development. Tahsina has also been greatly helpful in play-testing and from this we're releasing the following changes in this update:

  • Added new burst metal pipe graphics to show where leaks have occurred
  • Leaks can now appear in more locations within each room
  • Glass inside the submarine will now crack when damage is taken
  • Cracked glass and burst pipes can be repaired when docked in the open world
  • Greatly improved the visibility of dials when using the torch in the dark
  • The single Record present in non openworld missions is now randomised and not always "Farewell"
  • Significantly reduces the leak sound volume when multiple leaks are present
  • Fixed underwater terrain display
  • Limited the interaction distance of the buoyancy levers
  • Fixed incorrect water rendering in the submarine pen
  • Fetching friend list will now retry on timeout

I want to try something new, something radical. Many of you have expressed your frustration with balance. But it’s very hard for me to know what the general community wants…

Go to this reddit thread and make a top level comment with your balance change, please follow this format:

Heavy Beam:
Damage 38d -> 36d
Energy Use 4000e -> 4500e
It's going to make heavy beam less dominant in the meta. Right now every game has to have one.

If balance change gets enough votes it will get approved and make it into 1.0.0! That’s right 1.0.0 is right around the corner.
