At last, I'll be able to fly over my local Aldi, and take in sumptuous, grey steelworks just down the road. And I'm getting excited because Microsoft Flight Simulator's third World Update arrives on 16th February, bringing many UK and Ireland landmarks, as well as five new photogrammetry cities to the game.
I've not paid much attention to King's Bounty 2 because, well, it keeps being delayed. Hey, it's delayed again! But this time they're acting like it's the final delay, going as far as to declare a release date: August 24th. I'm still a bit disappointed that the latest in the hexy strategy RPG series looks so stuffy and serious, after the fun and foolishness of the games from a decade or so ago.

That's the setup for Militsioner, a fascinating-looking upcoming game about trying to flee a town where everyone thinks you're guilty of a crime and a vast policeman is keeping an eye on you. For the best part of 15 years, most LEGO games were The Characters You Like In Those Films, But Now In Brick Form. Will Arnett hadn’t donned the cowl yet, nor was Chris Pratt singing about everything being more than decent, so Those Films weren’t even LEGO films. I think that’s why I felt compelled to play LEGO City Undercover when it first launched on the Nintendo Switch prototype in 2013. It was something completely new from the people who didn’t normally give us something completely new.
Chivalry 2, a game about stabbing and being stabbed, will release on June 8th. This news came via today's Epic Games Store spring showcase, at the end of a video with lots of stabbing and developers talking about the stabbing.
Spiritfarer, the cosy game about death, is getting three free updates in 2021. As explained in a development roadmap shared by its team, the updates should land in spring, summer and autumn, and will add new spirits, more story, and new buildings and locations. Magic: Legends is entering open beta on March 23rd. This is Cryptic Studios' free-to-play action-RPG, in which you put together a deck of cards while beating up swarms of monsters, Diablo-style. There's a new trailer, every second of which looks identical to almost every other second.
Axiom Verge 2 was announced for Nintendo Switch back in 2019 with a 2020 release date. No other platforms were announced at the time, but now it seems it's coming to PC after all - as an Epic Games Store exclusive.
The Kingdom Hearts series is coming to PC for the first time, exclusively via the Epic Games Store. That includes Kingdom Hearts 1.5 Remix, 2.5 Remix, the 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue compilation, 2019's Kingdom Hearts 3, and 2020's rhythm action spin-off Melody Of Memory. They'll be released on March 30th, so not long to wait.
As the Year of the Rat ends, the Year of the Ox begins - and so marks the beginning of Steam's Lunar New Year Sale. Between now and February 15th, thousands of games are discounted on Valve's storefront. Mind you, actual Chinese New Year doesn't start until tomorrow, but it's nice to celebrate a bit early (especially when those celebrations involve buying lotsa games you might've missed for cheap).
