After three years of working on it, it's finally here: Catty & Batty's latest adventure 🐈🦇

Catty & Batty started out as characters for one of my first Unity games to help me get a better understanding of the engine. They went on to go on comic adventures for three Octobers (2017, 2018, 2019), which helped me a lot to get to know them, and to learn more about how to draw them.

In late 2018 I decided it was time for their next adventure, this time completely co-op, so that I could play the game together with my wife, Auri. It was my goal to create something that just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

For some of you, this might be a strange turn of events, coming from my previous project Halfquake Trilogy. But I think you'll see that it shares a lot of similarities in the way I create things. I always have a focus on music, random events, a distinct style, and puzzles. This time the puzzles are just a little nicer to you. 😸

Howdy!

We've just finished uploading 0.6.7 versions of the Windows, Mac and Linux builds. The game is now playable on all three platforms.

There are going to be lots of small gameplay fixes and bug fixing in the upcoming weeks. The more players we have engaging with Enemy Remains, the better we can track down the issues. Having players outside our QA and testing teams gives us valuable data to use in our development.

We have also updated the demo version and made sure its save files do not interfere with the saves of the retail version, along with some small bugs fixed from the build.

This major KARDS update delivers three fundamentally new systems that add, each on their own, a wealth of new progression options:

New Wildcards


We complete this update with a sizable card rebalance, which also touches on the Resistance gameplay.

The new National Progression delivers rewards more frequently and helps you to create competitive decks much faster. Wildcards allow you to build up your collection in a much more streamlined and enjoyable way. The new seasonal ladder is decoupled from the national progression, thus reducing the pressure to rank up in several nations at once.

Plus: Every player got at least 2 Officer Packs for free!

We strongly recommend discovering all the upcoming changes, learning how the new systems work, and how you will benefit from the changes:




This new system replaces the old achievements and gives you a reward track for each respective nation. Playing a nation will now yield faster and more consistent rewards, advancing the nation's progression path each match, including PvE!




The new wildcards replace the current system of resources. In the new system, you use wildcards to create your new cards. This allows you to progress much faster in a nation you are focusing on; it also allows us to be much more generous with nation-specific rewards. Gold cards will become prestige items.




The new ladder features a unified system as we drop the nation-specific aspect of it. Whenever you win matches, you will gain a star in this new ladder regardless of the nation you have played.




Your existing resources have been doubled and converted into wildcards. Achievements got converted to the new system and instantly completed there - as far as possible. You got 2 Officer packs. And you have received the seasonal rewards (due to the short season in February).

This update arrives with a total of 13 card changes, including a significant update to the infamous French Resistance card.

With these changes, we open the gates to strategies never seen before and lay the foundation for future work.

  • It was brought to our attention that after the last patch, some players were still unable to attain level 10. This issue has been fixed.

• Global
  
  • Added prototype companion Devon.
    
  • Added companion offensive abilities (prototype companion only).
    
  • Companions now teleport when you do.
    
  • Companions now resurrect at the graveyard with you.

Selection will be completely random, so keep an eye out for the invitation email! All those selected will receive access to the custom game launcher, authenticated through Steam.

Changes for Version 3.49.1215

- Added a valentine event. The event will start on thursday, february 11th. For 2 weeks you will get event currency from the daily draw and from the ultimate beings you defeat. You can trade this for a pet token and other things.
- Added a new Pet, Rose. It has a bonus for alchemist and a speed boost for enchanting equip.
- Added new Patreon God Challenges with perk: notfromearth, Pakal, Kentorax, Robin, Brad and Seeress Salina.
- Added 3 as a next at option for creations. It creates one, then moves to the next. Basically to unlock the buy options without changing the next ats.
- Bugfix potion usage in dungeons. Someone pointed me towards that basically after every phoenix feather usage you got free usage of your potions and potions which didn't heal to max hp weren't used up and didn't appear in the log. This means you used up a lot less feathers and potion than you should. That is fixed now, but because older players had a long advantage with this and it makes it a bit harder for newer players, I also increased the exp from depth 1 by about 60% and from depth 2 by about 20% compared to before. I also added more phoenix feather drops to make up for the higher usage now.
