Venge - COASTER
It has been a while since the last update, but here's a minor patch!

  • Fixed Post Processing effects not working in Act 1 Madness
  • Fixed Post Processing effects not working in the Bike Scene
  • Fixed the infinity bike scene minigame actually not being infinity
  • Some small performance updates.

I've been working super hard on Act 2, it is taking a lot longer than expected, I guess I'm just trying to perfect everything. I feel a lot of pressure to make sure it's really good and not lame.

Greetings Shopkeepers! Today is the day we have been working towards for quite some time now (the original task was made in January 2020!), but we are finally here.



Update Highlights
This week we are releasing the updated Crafting Menu, which includes some changes to the materials system. You can now buy, sell and farm quality materials!

Crafting Menu

The crafting menu has been reworked to allow for quality crafting resources to be used. Using higher quality resources will increase the chance for a better outcome. Crafting progression has also been updated and you can now gain skill in a crafting category as well as skill in crafting a specific item.

Quality Trader Items

Quality items, resources, and seeds can now be obtained from the trader.

Farming Menu

Farming now has a menu where It is also possible to use quality seeds to improve the chance for a better harvest. As with crafting, you can now gain skill as a farmer and gain skill cultivating specific crops.


A harvesting animation has been added to better reflect what has been harvested.

Major Changes
  • The crafting outcome is influenced by the quality of materials you use.
  • Crafting now has an item skill and a category skill.
  • Quality seeds (bought from traders) can now give quality crops.
  • You can now craft multiple items in a row.

New
  • Crafting - New crafting menu.
  • Farming - New farming menu.
  • Farming - Seeds & crops can now have qualities associated with them.
  • Items - Crafting resources can now have qualities associated with them.
  • Items - Trader will now offer quality items.
  • Progression - Category skill level has been added.

  • Crafting - Time is slowed while in the crafting or farming menu.
  • Farming - It is now possible to remove a growing crop.
  • Balance - Community request: War event now also increases demand and price for Healing Potions.

  • Other - Alchemy Station was missing description.
  • Other - Planters other than the starting planter were missing descriptions.
  • Translations - Fixed some typos and weird wording in the Dutch translation.

Hotfixes
  • Fix - v5663 - Crafting Station experience was not converted correctly.
  • Fix - v5667 - Temporary workaround for rare issue where the trader has no items.
  • Fix - v5668 - The item options dropdown in the furniture catalog menu was not using the correct sprite.
  • Fix - v5669 - Closing the restock menu, crafting menu, or crafting side menu would leave items pulsing in the inventory overlay.
  • Fix - v5670 - Hovering over crafting and farming items in the menu will now pulse the corresponding items in the inventory overlay.

  • Fix - v5672 - Picking any item using a controller would deselect the farming or crafting menu.
  • Fix - v5672 - Removing a seed using a controller would close the farming menu.
  • Fix - v5672 - Removing a planted crop would not remove the plant model.

Mayhem Brawler - Zangar #RIPInsanityIsHope

Hello Brawlers! Today, we will talk about the enemy design process of Mayhem Brawler. As you know, one of the core elements in a beat 'em up game is its enemies. We face enemy minions all through the gameplay. In Mayhem Brawler, an extreme amount of effort given to the creating best enemies possible.

Idea Behind the Level Designs
In Mayhem Brawler, our intention is to make the level give its own feeling and tell its own story instead of just giving out a few dialogue lines and creating minion chaos until the boss appears. Because we want to let players know what exactly is happening while they are beating minions to double death. Normally, enemy minions and combat mechanics are created firsthand. But instead, we jumped into the Mayhem Universe and inspected what our enemies would actually do, their characteristics and preferences.

So basically we created a game that would fit the universe instead of a universe that would fit the game. Also, different endings of the game can be vaguely named "faction endings" since will be an ending caused by your choices and actions over factions. What exactly are those factions, and how are their so-called characteristics? Thought you would never ask, let's move on to that subject.

Factions of Mayhem Universe
Mayhem Universe has its own factions that rolling around and living in their own style. There are 4 factions and their stereotypes that we will mention in this article. Listed as: Stronghold, Codex Entertainment, Brotherhood, Feller Corp.

Stronghold
The organization Stronghold, which includes the heroes, is a kind of special law enforcement agency, mostly made up of metahumans. Although they are introduced to the public as superheroes, they are law enforcers. However, the style of the uniform may be specific depending on the officer. This faction is where our "Heroes" belong, Star, Trouble, and Dolphin. Talking about the minions of Stronghold, dressed formally, self-confident, tactical, and well trained. Stronghold members have diverse superpowers such as telekinesis, super-speed, and energy manipulation or just a great discipline and training I guess?. Stronghold fight the cleanest in between all 4 factions, after all, they are officers, at least let's hope they are aware of it. They use Tonfas and riot shields as weapons. Also, metahumans of Stronghold have very unique powers of their own, let's not spoil them.

Codex Entertainment
Codex Entertainment faction is a faction of magic practitioners. Known esoteric but that turned out to be false information about magic with recent times. Actually, magic was something that gets powerful as you use it more creatively, so it became a subject to subculture. With magic getting common, Codex Entertainment got stronger. Codex Entertainment members are mostly humans of this world but on the other hand, there are Mejins too. They are refugees from another magical dimension. As it is understandable from their practices, Codex Entertainment keeps it ranged with a few close combat skills. With their own unique style of combat, fighting CE members such an experience.

Feller Corp
Remember the conspiracy theories of elder people from 'states? "3 families run the world", "they are gonna chip us with the vaccines", "they are leaving mind-controlling trails with planes". Well here is a literal conspiracy theory evil organization, Feller Corp. All members of this faction are vampires from big and powerful houses. Feller Corp controls media and big money sources. They keep enterprises and big businesses under their influence. Vampires are also members of society but it's very uncommon to see a vampire in the low economic class, they care about their families and bloodline. With the strong common image of a "vampire" in the urban fantasy genre, our perspective is something similar. They wield blades, katanas, uzis, and such physical attacks as leap and blood suck. Combat behavior is most likely close range exotic attack combinations and ranged attacks with firearms.

Brotherhood
Where is the badass Underground Crime Organization in this universe? Well, here they are. Brotherhood is a faction of lycanthrope and they do pretty criminal things underground. Due to their feral nature, they can't really blend in with normal street communities. They have separate factions in their own caused by their "racial" differences such as wolf, crocodile, etc. Some of them live in the streets, sewers, suburbs, or wilderness. Their looks keep them unemployed and away from society so they mostly wear clothes they find around or not wear at all. A very few lycanthropes have "human form" or can "partially transform", they just blend in society. Fight behavior is as expected, using their claws or animal advantages they perform extremely dangerous attacks. Preference is at close range, but some of the lycanthrope enemies can control their own kind, so companion calls or raids can be expected from them.

(Also, they don't like the jokes about veterinary and leash.)
Neutral Minions
Actually yes, we have a neutral faction that we didn't mention earlier in this article. They are Thugs, Punks, and Hired Guns such as mercenaries. Neutrals just get involved in trouble by hook or crook. They punk around and get hired by any faction for getting their dirty work done. Also, on the technical side, they were very useful for us. For example, if we didn't have any neutral characters players wouldn't face any close-ranged enemies in Codex Entertainment levels. Neutral minions have variants to look like the faction they are working with but their choice of weaponry or fight behavior stays the same. They mostly use any close-ranged weapon they find, on the other hand, mercenaries will be using long barrel rifles or handguns.

In the next episode of Mayhem Brawler Developer Diary, we will be talking about Boss designs of Mayhem Universe in a more technical way.

Kaze and the Wild Masks - Marten
Hey all!

Today we have some great news, we have a release date! Kaze and the Wild Masks is coming out on March 26th 2021! In just two months you'll be able to get your hands on Kaze and the Wild Masks and run, jump, pounce, soar and sprint through the Crystal Islands.

After years of hard work from PixelHive, it's finally all getting very close! We sincerely want to thank you all for your help during the demos and betas. With all your feedback, they've been able to improve, polish and finish Kaze and the Wild Masks into what it is now, and of course in these last months they'll make sure to improve the 90s classics inspired platformer experience even better!

In the meantime, feast your eyes on the latest screenshots we've just uploaded on the Steam page and hit that 'Add to Wishlist' button if you haven't already! It really helps us out. Totally Accurate Battlegrounds - Botten Hanna


In 2019 we posted this announcement talking about the future of the game and what was going on. A lot of things have happened since then and since about a year back we’re finally working on the game again. It's been amazing to see people participating in the betas and the player count going up once more.

For those of you who haven’t been keeping up with the Betas here’s the rundown of what will be in the free to play update coming later this year.



TABG Free to Play update will include the following features:

  • Completely remade map with a bunch of new areas.
  • A bunch of new weapons, attachments, and grenades.

Blessings
The game now has buffs called "blessings" that the players can find, these blessings improve the player's character in some way.

For example:
  • More movement speed
  • Extra air jumps
  • Faster fire rate
  • Your bullets light your opponent on fire if you shoot to the beat of a song
  • You regain health when lying down
Curses:
You can be brought back to life by your teammates if you die. You do however return to life with a "curse". These range from mild drawbacks in combat like slower bullets or a bigger body, to silly limitations like not being able to look to the left.

Limbo
When you die early on in the game you get a chance to release by surviving a skydiving minigame where you need to avoid falling pillars and get to the end in time. Depending on how well you do in this minigame you either don't return at all, return with a curse, return normally or return with random blessings.

Levels
The player now gathers XP when playing which allows the player to level up. Gaining levels lets the player choose a different color for their name, and will most likely also reward cosmetic items.

UI and UX redesign
The game's UI has always been pretty clunky and hard to use for new players, we are working on completely redesigning from scratch.

Catchphrases
Each player gets to select a sequence of 3 words that they can at any time announce when playing. The player can also select the voice that these words are said in, as well as change the pitch of the voice.

Performance, stability, and bug fixes
The game has also gotten a lot of work put into fixing bugs, improving network stability, and improving performance as well as updating the anti-cheat.



Brawl mode
The Brawl mode is still coming to TABG but we have decided to postpone the implementation of the mode until sometime after the free to play update. When we relaunch the game it’s important to us that the player base isn’t divided more than necessary in order to ensure full matches. We still want the mode to be available further down the road!

Classic TABG
If you hate the changes and love classic TABG we will either have a server or beta branch available with the classic version. If you want to play it right now when we’re running a beta you can do so by using the beta code: PLAYTHEOGTABG

A new Free Camera function was introduced to replays. This function makes it easier to study maps or view battle situations in detail. And taking cool screenshots and videos became a breeze!

The Free Camera function is available for PC/Mac users. It can be enabled either by pressing the "C" key or clicking the corresponding icon in the lower-left corner of the replay interface.
For Legendary Victories

Legendary warpaints, such as Blade for the VK 90.01(P), Intrepid for the T25 Pilot Number 1, Shark for the T54E2, Fiery Serpent for the WZ-111 model 5A, and both Nidhögg and Nord for the Kranvagn, are now available in the camo selection menu.

Cost: 1,450 Gold for Tier VIII vehicles and 2,550 Gold for Tier X vehicles.
Balance Changes

We're continuing to make balance improvements to middle-tier vehicles. Thus, the TOG II* will receive increased maximum speed, engine power, and frontal turret and hull armor. After the update release, the technical characteristics of four tank destroyers will be changed. The penetration of AP and APCR shells will improve for the Nashorn, Jagdpanther, and Jagdpanzer IV. The latter will also take half a second longer to reload. Last but not least, two guns of the AMX 13 90 will receive a reduced magazine reload time and improved firing accuracy.

Improvements and Fixed Bugs

  • The game is no longer supported on devices with Android 4.2 and 4.3. To continue playing, please update your device to version 4.4 or higher.
  • The bug where a blown-off turret caused damage while moving/pushing it was fixed.
  • The bug where the game expanded to full-screen mode during battle training was fixed.
  • Various screens, descriptions, and notifications were improved.
  • General bugs and client crashes were fixed.
