Worms Rumble - Josh_Team17
Hey Worms!

We've been listening closely to community requests and are excited to reveal that a team death match mode will be landing in Worms Rumble on January 28th 2021!

TDM Mode

A classic team vs team deathmatch mode is coming to the game next week. Take up the banner of the red or blue team and show the enemy the true meaning of collective Worms fire power!

This mode will be 12v12 and the maps will be reduced in size from the 32 player variants with some areas cut off with storms.

Thanks to everyone who joined our beta tests and helped us try out the new mode. We've listened to your feedback and tweaked the originally more chaotic mode! Spawns, map size and flow were critiques we've listened to and changed to make the mode better!

Roadmap

Worms, we want to show you that we have much more content planned and for that we've put together a development roadmap that highlights some of the things coming in the near future!

Please note, the roadmap isn't exhaustive or set in stone, everything could change and there will be additions that aren't mentioned here.

Fixes

We're aware of a few issues with the game and are working hard to resolve them!

Crashes have been effecting some PC players and next weeks TDM patch will come with fixes that aim to resolve the majority of the reports we've received.

Networking issues will be continuously looked at and patched, we will be getting out fixes as soon as we can to keep improving things.

Whilst they don't effect Steam users we're also working with Sony on resolving the PS5 Trophy issues. We'll let everyone know as soon as we have a fix for those still still experiencing issues.

Rising Tide Lab Mode

A new mode has risen to the Lab mode. Here's the low down:

For now it's time to rumble!

Whisker Squadron: Untitled Space Game - aaronflippo(Flippfly)
Come join Flippfly developer Aaron San Filippo, as he discusses Flippfly's new game, Whisker Squadron.
Whisker Squadron is a forward-moving aerial shooter with a rogue-like structure, featuring a cast of feline pilots. The game builds on the technology used to create Flippfly's hit game Race The Sun, and fans of that game will feel right at home with Whisker Squadron's silky smooth game feel.

We are pushing the envelope with this game, and creating procedurally-generated boss fights, and worlds. We can't be more excited to show the world what Whisker Squadron has to offer!

Thank you for your support!
Rogue State - Kodiak

Soon you will be able to return to a beautiful new Glorious People's Republic of Basenji in Rogue State Revolution. We're announcing the launch date early next month for a triumphant return to the paranoid and peculiar world we created over five years ago.

Rogue State Revolution is more than a sequel but a complete overhaul of our first and favorite game. Survey for new resources, seek inspirational experiences, hunt for an elusive separatist group, build a mechsuit, deal with climate change, find a hidden dirty-bomb, assassinate your rivals, punch a meteor, negotiate with a chicken. We went into this knowing that this needs to be the definitive Rogue State experience. This is a country where anything can happen.

Rogue State Revolution is packed full of content. Several hundred events, over thirty buildings, innumerable policies spread between your seven Ministries. There's so much we want to show you, but we're going to spread this out over a few weekly updates.

It's 2021 and we're bringing FMV back! Invoking the absurdity of Red Alert, the primary storyline of Rogue State Revolution has a ridiculous amount of cutscenes that deliver exposition from your political advisor and military attaché or just have the foreign news media pontificate on the choices you're making while you're making them.

This is still Rogue State, so you're still managing Ministers with wildly different agendas and who will undermine your efforts if they feel their own particular needs are being neglected. You start with a handful, but can unlock up to sixteen of these Ministers, all with unique positive and negative qualities, with successive playthroughs. A single Minister change can dramatically change the feel of every game.

Gone are the abstractions of liberals, patriots, capitalists and fundamentalists...now every citizen has far more nuanced needs and interests: politically, religiously, ethnically and even the urban/rural divide. Your country is a melting pot of cultures, values and beliefs...and they all hate you a little bit. At least, for now. I'm sure you'll be fine.

Meet the Minister: Tariq Badour

Oh wow, look who's back! You remember Tariq right? Well, he's gone from being your personal aide to becoming a Minister of his own. And General (now Minister) Addad too! In fact, this is a chance to revisit a number of familiar faces from the original Rogue State, including a certain Emperor Roosti.

Tariq is a bit of maverick who will take a some money from the treasury each month. At least upgrades to his Ministry will never cost you cash, only favors! He's ethnically Qarifii, regardless of the Ministry he's placed in. The Qarifii people will be honored! One of their own in a Cabinet position!

Understanding your budget will help make things easier and Tariq will be able to assist you, while helping himself as well. Ultimately it is you who determines how the budget is allocated and any changes you make will no doubt be with the best interests of the nation and its people. Or maybe not!

Surveying

Your land contains resources that are key to developing and maintaining an economy of production chains. Tax revenue is fine and all, but if you want to survive in Rogue State Revolution you must either pursue a state-controlled export economy, or a state-controlled tourism economy. Or both! Resources won't spring forth in a glowing mist beckoning you to extract and this is where the surveyor comes in.

Resources require the surveyors expertise to investigate the land and then if you strike lucky, begin the process of reaping those resources. That bauxite deposit can become a mine, which can be smelted into aluminum, which can be shipped to a factory to be made into toasters, which are shipped to every home in Basenji because at the heart of every citizen is somebody who loves toast.

Each week we'll show you some behind the scenes secrets from the development of Rogue State Revolution, from stories within the alternate universe of the game to the what, why and how of design, art and technical insight.

The current keyart you see on various sites and the steam storepage came into place a few months ago when we released the first trailer for the game that went live exclusively during The Mix Next.

We worked with freelance illustrator Virgile Boulais to achieve key art that represented not only the important themes of the game, but to ensure composition of characters in ways that reflected how we viewed them in game. An example that you can see is how many pose variations we went through for one of your advisors, Sabriyah Altaf.

Trivia Tricks - Mr. Tricks
Hey everyone!

We're back this week with our eighth regular update! This week we were implementing changes to Co-Op Vs Boss mode to make it easier to communicate as a team!

With this update comes a solution to make communicating with your team in Co-Op Vs Boss mode as easy as can be. We've added notches to the answers on screen to show who has selected an answer. You can also now change your answer as many times as you like. Pull the trigger too early on a guess but your friend actually watched that film? Now you can easily switch and earn your team some points. We hope this makes it easier for everyone to work together and help your attempts in taking on The King!

Coming to the character creator this week is also a new shirt with a cute little snake on it. This shirt is dedicated to 'Fangs' - a friend's snake who sadly is no longer with us but will be remembered fondly.

There are also some improvements this week to game lobbies based on feedback from the community and watching our lovely streamers.

You can find the patch notes to Trivia Tricks version 0.8.10.0 below:

Visible and Changing Answers!
  • Answers are now made visible via notches in Co-Op Vs Boss mode to help communicate as a team.
  • You can now change your answer as many times as you like when playing in Co-Op Vs Boss mode.
Lobby Improvements!
  • As the host of a lobby you can now kick players.
  • When 60% of players ready up the game will now count down 60 seconds before automatically starting.
Misc Changes!
  • When playing online with a guest, they will now use the name of their selected character, and not the Steam accounts' name. (Example: 'Mr. Tricks (1)' will now be known as 'Trinity').
  • After answering players can now use the answer buttons/keys to emote faster. (Please note that you cannot use emotes in Co-Op Vs Boss because you will change your answer!)
  • A new free shirt is available for all players, the Fangs shirt!
  • Pressing Start in the Character Select Screen will now also join a player.
  • Added community written questions submitted via Discord.
  • Updated our question database to fix a range of typos and issues.
Bugs Squashed
  • Fixed an issue where clicking to leave a game sometimes would not work depending on mouse placement when the menu opened.
  • Fixed an issue where clicking to answer a question sometimes would not work depending on mouse placement when the buttons appeared.
  • Fixed guest podium names displaying a different player's name when playing online with a guest.

Next week we will be focusing on general fixes and polish in a number of areas based off of community feedback.

Please let us know what you think on our Steam Discussion Forum or join our ever-growing Discord. Thank you for following Trivia Tricks!

But before you start playing, take a look on a brand-new Gameplay Trailer we've been working on for a while!

Axis & Allies 1942 Online - Julius Borisov
Hello Commanders,

Back in December we sent out a survey asking for your feedback on the dice in Axis & Allies 1942 Online. Your response was phenomenal— more than 2,900 players shared their thoughts and advice!

Huge thanks to all the Axis & Allies fans who filled out the survey. Please know we’re listening and taking your feedback seriously. Your answers will affect how we move forward with development.

Take a look at the Dice Survey results, and let us know if anything surprised you!

Dice Survey Results
1. Do you agree with this statement? "When I attack with many high powered units there should be some guaranteed hits in my rolls."

About half of you agree, and half disagree that attacks with many high powered units should result in some guaranteed hits.

2. Do you agree with this statement? "I HATE it when there are extremely lopsided dice rolls multiple times in a single game."

This response was clearer: most of you agree that you HATE it when you get extremely lopsided dice rolls multiple times in a single game.

3. Do you agree with this statement? "It's fun when combat rolls create unexpected results!"

Too many unexpected results aren’t fun, but responses to this question show that random, unexpected rolls are still essential to the game.

4. Do you agree with this statement? "Bombing Raids are unfair in Axis & Allies 1942 Online— bombers are shot down much more frequently than a 1 in 6 chance."

It’s a pretty clear message here: the bombing raids feel unfair to half of our players.

5. Axis & Allies 1942 Online currently has 2 dice modes. What would your ideal dice be like?

About half of you voted for completely random dice, while a good 30% of players prefer a Low Luck option (with some guaranteed hits based on average rolls).

We’re incredibly grateful to all of you who took time to share your thoughts with us. You’ve done your part— now it’s on us to use your feedback to improve Axis & Allies 1942 Online!

We’ll be sending out more surveys to shape our development path, so stay tuned for details on our Facebook, Twitter, Newsletter, and in-game announcements.

Sincerely,
The Beamdog Team
Fantasy General II - Alberto
It is a harsh world for the Lizardfolk and the young newt Szzlag and his siblings, who have been expelled from their home to carve out a new place of their own in the land. Follow the evolution of Szzlag the Devourer from newt to mighty lizardfolk hero and become the master of the Broken Isles, facing unprecedented dangers from a race of foreign invaders, never before seen by your kind.

A new Fantasy General II expansion is coming.

It is called Evolution, and it will feature a brand new playable faction, a new single player story campaign, plenty new units, new items, a new hero, a new world map and a new map theme.

A new faction: the Lizardfolk

It is a race of lizards who excel at amphibious and sea warfare.

They don't have any of the normal penalties associated with movement and combat in water, receiving bonuses instead, and can also hide in deep water and swamps, making the sea their natural environment.

The Lizardfolk faction makes use of the existing lizards units from the original campaign plus plenty of new units making their roster equal to that of the other two factions. New marine-themed neutral units have been added too, including giant crabs, huge sharks, seagulls, warships and more.

A new story campaign: Evolution

The Lizardfolk are playable in Skirmish, Onslaught mode or in their new Story Campaign, Evolution. It is a 20 missions long campaign set on a new world map in which you take command of the new playable hero, the lizard Szzlag, as he leads his siblings away from his tribe in an initiation rite. It is a prequel to the Invasion campaign, and will establish the Lizardfolk as a force to be reckoned with.

In the campaign, you can use Evolution points in order to evolve your lizardfolk units, turning them into bigger, meaner and more dangerous lizards. How do you obtain evolution points? By eating your prey.

A new map theme: the Archipelago

Evolution also introduces a new map theme, Archipelago. This new map theme is tropical and marine-based, with plenty of islands, beaches, deep & shallow waters and luscious jungle.

And much more!

Learn more about Fantasy General II: Evolution by looking at its product page below.

Evolution will release on all platforms on February 25th.

All you need to do is join and you'll be paired up with your opponent automatically. Your multiplayer challenges will show up in your Online ongoing games. Read the rules here.

The first round will begin on Monday February 1st. Each round will last one week, and the Tournament will conclude by Monday February 22nd.

The winner will receive a free copy of the Evolution DLC, released on February 25th.
