This week's news goes directly into two different topics. I continued working on improving the procedural generation around rivers building upon the work done for the valleys last week. First, I completed the map around the valleys creating “plateaus”, merging in a bit of the previous terrain generator. The trickiest part here was making it blend nicely.
The other thing I am working on is this new terrain generator work well with coastal maps. Most of the work with the heightmap is done, but still need some tweaks on the texturing of the riverbeds as well as making sure the ocean doesn’t conflict with the rivers.
We are also working on completing the models for the Muisca units, along with a way to customize their heads to add a bit of variety. The first one was the Archer, and we are now working in the blowgunner.
Bubble Tag is rotating in as the Brawl of the Week! Channel the powers of the Crystal Gems and become the talk of the town in Beach City with this Steven Universe themed game mode.
We’ve also updated the free-to-play Legend rotation and sale items in Mallhalla. For those in pursuit of Glory, it’s almost time for Ranked Season 19, beginning on January 20th.
If you’ve felt a chill in the air, it could be because there are some ghostly happenings coming to Valhalla tomorrow. Just one more day until the new Legend, Magyar, arrives with a cold vengeance.
Battle like the Crystal Gems! Strike your opponents to capture them in Gem Bubbles. Bubbled players can't attack and have limited movement, but you can save the day by tagging your teammates to free them. Capture the entire enemy team to score a point. The first team to 5 points wins!

This is a big thing! We are making ‘Haxity” entirely FREE, taking effect from February 15th.
While we have received lots of positive feedback on the game, with a range of voices calling it the best deck-builder they have ever played, we have sadly not succeeded in making ‘Haxity’ a commercial success. At least not yet.
Being an indie game developer is inherently about managing risks. It is difficult to make a commercially successful game, while penetrating the “jungle of attention”. We knew we were taking risks when we decided to make a new type of PvP card game. The deck-builder genre hadn’t even had its major breakthrough when we started developing Haxity. That kind of risk. We also knew we were taking a risk when we made the game a fair “premium” game, vs. making it all free. That our final year of development and hype stretch ended up in the middle of a global pandemic was an added ‘bonus’ to those risks. Sadly, all these risks have reached their conclusion, for now. And it did not end up the way we have worked so hard for.
We have thus reached the conclusion that we can no longer support having a development team on the game. The patch we are launching this week is then likely the last update for a long while. However, by making it entirely free, we are removing all barriers on entering the game, and new players can pick it up for no cost whatsoever. We will keep the servers up and running, and will observe the game and the community from the side. Crossing our fingers for new players joining the brawl, the community growing and the game maybe picking up the virality it needs to thrive.
We know fans have played the game for hundreds and hundreds of hours and put in tons of effort to help us with detailed feedback, testing and with building our community. Your effort has been priceless to us, and we can't thank you enough for the journey we have been on together. You have all been amazing, and we are very grateful for our amazing community! Together we made a great game, a game we are very proud of.
We know this wasn't the announcement you were waiting for, and that you would have wished for us to keep on developing and improving the game. Hopefully, by making ‘Haxity’ free it will make it easier to find new players to challenge.
Beyond that, we are creative people. We know that this journey in the games industry is a rollercoaster. You will surely hear from us again, with other games on the same quality level as ‘Haxity’.

2 new Status effects: Guaranteed Critical and Dodge!
Unlike the sluggish and heavily-armored infantry tanks, the concept of “cruiser tanks” was designed around speed and mobility. In many ways these are the UK’s answer to the Pz III, with equivalent armaments and similar overall performance. Some early “close support” variants even came armed with a howitzer, fulfilling the combat role of an assault gun.
The Cruiser Mk III A13 was built for speed and armed with a QF 2-pounder. It was designed to swarm the enemy, and had poor armor - something the crew had to be mindful of.
Cruiser Mk IV was a hasty course correction - so hasty many models were shipped straight to the frontline, often with some parts missing. It fared poorly against thick German armor, but quickly became a soldiers’ favorite in Africa, where its speed and good climate adaptation made it deadly when facing lightly armored Italian tanks.
Crusader II kept the speed and the 2-pounder cannon, but boasted additional protective panels on its sides, and much thicker front armor, offset by the powerful Nuffield Liberty Mk.III engine. This machine came into use in 1942, just in time for the major battles in North Africa.
In the game
The сruiser tanks’ high mobility is reflected by the high movement points, but their defense is mediocre. Still, it is a force to be reckoned with, especially early into the war. Their armament provides decent Soft attack and mediocre Hard attack capabilities.
