Adventurers, ready your weapons! Shroud of the Avatar has just placed the Well of Aldur onto QA for player testing! Expect this new adventure scene to go fully live on Release 86. It's been a peculiar year, many fantastic creations from Inventors like yourselves have helped keep the spirits up! We hope to see even more fantastic inventions in 2021 :).

We are continuing our work of sweeping, fine-tuning the game and improving it. This time, we were reminded of how challenging the gauntlet trial can be! Ooft.

We are having so much fun with this, even at this early stage! Creating spaceships with lasers! PEW! PEW! Maybe aliens will try out Main Assembly one day. I'm sure the extraterrestrials would make fantastic bots :D

This Christmas update includes a big change to the way Powers work in game to prevent multiple Powers on a single Hero protecting each other.
Also some fun Christmas cosmetics (which you can disable in the options menu if you would prefer!).

Power Changes
Powers now no longer come with an inherent Defence bonus.
This is to keep things a bit simpler and to and to prevent additional Powers from protecting existing ones.
Card Changes
All class focus cards (Adrenaline, Cantrip etc.) – Increased Resilience to 8.
‘Resilience’ (Warrior) – Increased Resilience to 8.
‘Iron Skin’ – Increased Resilience to 6.
‘Elite’ – Decreased cost to 1 (from 2).
‘Reach’ – Increased cost to 1, Resilience to 5 and changed effect to, ‘When an enemy moves into an adjacent space, draw a card.’
‘Battle Stance’ – Updated effect to, ‘All Attacks deal +2 Damage. On Play: Defend 3.’
‘Take Aim’ (Hunter) – Increased cost to 1 and changed effect to, ‘All attacks on a single target deal bonus damage equal to the Resilience of this Power. After attacking, this Power loses 1 Resilience.’
‘Supported’ (Hunger) – Increased Resilience to 4.
‘Stalk+’ – Changed upgraded effect to, ‘Adjacent enemies do not prevent you from performing Combo Strikes.’
‘Overload’ (Elementalist) – Reduced Resilience to 4.
‘Abjuration+’ – Changed upgraded effect to ‘On Play: Defend 3.’

I'm here with the final update of the year which will provide some big new features.
The first major addition is all to do with Staff members. They have too long been in the shadows repairing machines, cleaning up rubbish and keeping out thieves.
Staff now have Needs, Stats, Perks and Flaws: ~ Needs are similar to customer needs, and staff will get cranky if you don't provide a place for them to rest and relax. ~ Stats now drive how good your staff member performs certain actions. They are split into 3 categories, Skill (How fast or well they work), Speed (How quickly they move around) and Stamina (How long they can work without a break). ~ Perks are bonus skills that you can give a staff member. They can provide unique traits or an extra boost to stats. ~ Flaws are the opposite of perks. These can develop over time and will hinder your staff.
On top of this, Staff will now gain XP which you can use to upgrade your staff member. We've also added a Staff Room which you can build to give your Staff a place to take a much-deserved break.
To finish out the update, we've added a new customer who will start showing up at your arcade, a staff summary screen to help you keep track, as well as a whole host of bug fixes and improvements which you can see below.
Patch Notes ~ Added a large selection of Perks to staff members that are generated in the Staff Hire window, you are also able to award your staff members new perks once they gain enough experience to level up! ~ Added a new character. ~ Added a new decoration just in time for the Christmas season. ~ Added a new Random Event called "High Rollers". ~ Added a new window that allows you to see all staff members in a list and Select them (Staff Summary). ~ Added a Staff Room that your staff are now able to visit when their needs fall low, complete with upgrades. ~ Added a Staff Wage info string to the staff select menu. ~ Added an animation to the Marketing screen that now plays when you can't afford a program. ~ Added functionality to the "Bonus" button which for a cost, grants staff a temporary boost to needs to allow them to continue working longer! ~ Added new buttons to the HUD for both the Staffroom and the Staff Summary. ~ Added the Staffroom button to the HUD. ~ Fixed a bug which caused the pickup button to be replaced with Alert for spanners and cleaners. ~ Fixed a bug which caused the Staff select view to be removed occasionally. ~ Fixed a bug which occasionally caused a customer to get stuck. ~ Fixed a bug which stopped Lightning from appearing. ~ Fixed a major bug caused by reloading a save. ~ Fixed several occurrences of the mouse click leaking through to certain menus. ~ Implemented Staff Needs, these dictate how effective your staff members are while working. ~ Rebalanced some audio volumes. ~ Rebalanced the price of the Arcade durability upgrades. ~ Rebalanced the Unlockables Repair Speed Upgrades. ~ Removed the heat haze effect. ~ Reworked Staff Needs and Skills. ~ Reworked Staff wages, they are now calculated based on the "Level" that they generate at and their Stats & Skillset. ~ Reworked the Staff select screen. ~ Staff members in hired in a previous version will have its stats re-rolled based on the new system. ~ Staff will now gain experience when performing various tasks, once enough experience is gained your staff members increase in level, certain tasks will grant more experience. ~ Upgrading a staff member will increase their monthly wage.
We've worked extra hard to get this update out in time for the holiday season, however, bugs will do buggy things. So if you spot one, let us know through both our discord and Steam forums.

We’re excited to announce the December 2020 Game Update is now available to all Civilization VI players.
Included in this update is the new City-State picker, which lets you choose which City-States you would like to include in your next game and the Searchable Unit List, which will help you search and filter functions in the World Tracker panel to quickly find any unit on the map. Read on for the full list of what’s in today’s free game update.
While we were testing the August game update, we encountered an issue that was causing PC and Mac/Linux cross-play to become desynced around the mid-game point. For now, we’ll be turning off cross-play while we work with our partners at Aspyr to investigate a fix and we’ll be sharing updates as soon as we get them. Everyone will still receive the update tomorrow and Mac/Linux users will still be able to play with each other; we wanted to make sure this didn’t come as a surprise and really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding here.
[NEW FEATURES]
City-State Picker
In Advanced Setup, players can now bring up a new menu to choose which City-States they would like to include in their next game. Selected City-States are not guaranteed to be in the next game, rather, they are part of the pool of City-States that will then be randomly selected and placed. Ones that are not selected will never appear in a game.
Searchable Unit List
Leave no scout, archer, or Giant Death Robot behind. Players can use search and filtering functions in the World Tracker panel to quickly find any unit on the map.

Drop melee units' combat bonus against anti-cavalry to 5.
Reduced Combat Strength bonus from +10 to +5 for Thrust anti-cavalry Promotion.

Democracy: The bonus to trade routes now applies to city-states the user is Suzerain of (previously only allied civilizations)

Added a real starting zone, a small atoll near Naerocks where the player initially spawns. This serves as the lore introduction, and should help to improve new player experiences, when the path forward at the start is more straight forward. The atoll theme includes a ship wreck scenery. Added three quests to the new starting zone. Added a flying mount which brings the player to Naerocks village.
Player Animations
Greatsword
Updated the walking, running and idle animations for two handed swords.
AI
The AI hearing range has been decreased, and their affiliation with other friendly ai. Meaning, i.e. skeletons should no longer rush in a big group to you when entering small dungeon corridors.
Decreased the sight radius the ai can detect the player slightly.
Boars
Set base damage to 3
Increased capsule radius to 60, boars should less overlap with the player and other entities.
Set attack cooldown to 4 seconds, instead of 3. However, because the boar has three different attack types, a single boar may eventually attack three times in a row, but then pause.
Giant Crabs
Added four second attack cooldown to reduce attack rate.
Items
Adjusted coin prices for many weapons
Adjusted damage for many weapons.

Fixed
Certain NPC’s spawned twice on Naerocks Island, this has been addressed and should no longer happen with NPC Larto, or the group listening to the Bard playing guitar.
Loot is now properly removed from corpses upon looting.
Disabled
Disabled player character on flying mount. There is an issue with cloth not properly animated.
Login
The login has been re-enabled and should work now as intended. If you encounter login problems, report them here. The login should also fix the issue with character selections, eg. users could only use the first created character. We still plan to add the option to play without login requirement, but this is not a priority at this time.

Christmas is right around the corner, but the main attribute of it is still missing. A beautiful and bewitching Xmas tree can make you feel the holiday spirit like no one or nothing else! Complete festive tasks, decorate the Xmas Tree together with other players and enjoy various rewards, including “Glacier” weapon skins!
The event will last from today till 09:00 UTC (10:00 CET) on the 11th of January. Please note: it will stay open even after its last global stage is completed in order to make sure that everyone joins in on the fun.
By completing personal tasks daily, you will contribute to the overall progress. As the general progress advances, the Christmas tree will get gradually decorated, and you will be able to receive permanent festive camouflages! All players who completed at least one personal mission will receive a stage reward.
Moreover, other themed prizes will be granted to you for completing each personal task.
For the task to count, it is necessary to kill a minimum number of enemies during a match. The quantity depends on the mode. Only correctly completed battles in Quickplay or Ranked matches count towards the progress.

We are happy to announce that the Brazilian player migration from Level Up to our regional dedicated sub-server has finally begun. It will last till January 2022. Please follow the instructions on the special page to complete the migration process. You will find the extensive migration FAQ on that page as well.
Everybody who transfers their previous progress to our game launcher will get exclusive gifts - a full "Absolute" body armor set and several themed weapons for a chosen class - when they first log into the game. Check out the full list of gifts on the migration page.
Please note: some migrating players own items that either are not currently present on our servers or have vastly different unlocking conditions. We will monitor the presence of such items in the inventories of the players and will decide on how to proceed with them at a later date. You can expect a separate publication on this topic in the coming weeks.
If you are a migrating player and an owner of a permanent VIP booster, it will remain in your inventory only till the end of the migration process in January 2022. After that it will be replaced with a VIP booster for the duration of one year.
