Apart from that, I'm starting work on Book 2. It'll start showing up on the Beta Branch as of today, but there's no content yet. I'll be building forward, so Day 116, then 117, etc. When I reach the end of Act VII, I'll promote it to the default branch (so everyone else can play it). Book 2 (and 3) will come free with the same steam key as Book 1.

If you *are* interested in playing the Beta branch, I strongly recommend heading over to the Discord, since it'll otherwise be confusing to handle bug-reports in different places. There's also an amazing community there that'll know where the current 'end of content' is, what's left to do, and it's an easy place to reach me for questions and feedback.

Thanks for playing!

The Sd.Kfz. 251/21 was a late war modification of the renowned German WWII-era halftrack. Tankers in War Thunder will soon have the chance to obtain the Sd.Kfz. 251/21 as it arrives in the German SPAAG branch with the next major update “Hot Tracks!”.

In War Thunder, the Sd.Kfz. 251/21 will be a new SPAAG awaiting tankers at the lower ranks of the German ground forces tree in the next major update coming to the game. Acting as the middle ground between the Sd.Kfz. 6/2 and the Wirbelwind, the Sd.Kfz. 251/21 will help players transition from the early light to later, heavier SPAAGs in the German ground forces tree.

The Sd.Kfz. 251/21 is arriving in rank II of the SPAAG branch of the German ground forces tree and will become available to all tankers upon the release of the next major update coming to War Thunder soon. In the meantime, stay tuned to the news as the release of the “Hot Tracks!” incoming update draws nearer. Until then, happy hunting commanders!

The F-84F Thunderstreak is a further development of the preceding Thunderjet, introduced in the early 1950’s. Strongly resembling its predecessor, the F-84F offers improved performance to a somewhat familiar airframe and will await all pilots in the upcoming War Thunder “Hot Tracks” Update!

In War Thunder, the F-84F Thunderstreak will be a new rank V jet fighter making its way to the high ranks of not just the American aviation tree, but also those of the German, French and Italian trees! The Thunderstreak inherits many of its predecessor’s signature features, such as a sizable payload for example, while combining them with improved performance characteristics.

The F-84F Thunderstreak is on final approach and will soon arrive to players’ hangars with the release of the next major update coming to War Thunder very soon. In the meantime, make sure to stay tuned to the news as we continue unveiling what the upcoming update has in store for you. Until then, clear skies and good hunting pilots!

BETA TIME!
Hello hello, puppers! I hope that you're enjoying your December so far!!

It's been a couple weeks since we last spoke through a Pupdate, and that's 100% on me! Sorry about that, I was busy recovering from the double-whammy of COVID-19 and a case of Bronchitis! Since we last spoke, I posted an updated preview of our new character selection interface over on Twitter (which is also down below here), and work has been done on the front of implementing Steam Achievements into the game!

Sixteen choices to represent you!

The astute-eyed of you may have even noticed this already, as the achievements recently started appearing on the Steam library page, as well:

First. I get dibs on that one!

What's all of this mean? It means that Major Update #6 is more or less ready for release! It's been in a super-heccin-private beta branch for a couple of days, and I've been chipping away at any issues that I find in that time. Later tonight, it will be merged with the active beta branch for all of you to test at your leisure as well, with a full release coming on Tuesday (in reality, late Monday night but more or less the 22nd)!

I'm looking forward to sharing the additional quality of life changes with you on Tuesday, but until then, stay safe and have fun!!

Here are a few fixes to round out the year. Seawolf behaves better around coasts, Metal Extractor placement is smoother, and a lingering graphics bug has been resolved. This is probably the last patch of the year so I'd like to thank the community for helping each other through an otherwise difficult year.

Fixes with multiple dot points

Submarines can no longer traverse shallow water, reverting a recent experimental change. Unfortunately it resulted in Seawolf needlessly revealing itself to surface weaponry while skirting islands.
  • Minimum depth 5 -> 15.
  • Seawolf now has a higher aim point and fire point. This solves various weapon blocking bugs that could occur around coastlines.
Metal Extractor placement is now consistent with other structure placement.
  • If you click where a mex can be placed, the mex is placed, otherwise the click is ignored.
  • Previously, whether the click was used depended on the ghost under the mouse cursor.
  • This caused issues such as being unable to click on a blocked location near a free metal spot to place a mex.
Fixes with one dot point each
  • Writing a report description is now mandatory.
  • Replaced the 'Clan List' button in the Profile tab with 'Contact Admins' as this seems more useful.
  • Fixed reclaim failing to be highlighted during start position selection.
  • Filtered out the low quality part of the construction unit reply.
  • Fixed the problems stemming from the outline shader update, possibly even correctly. This fixes the non-default widgets that were missed by the previous patch, such as Bloom and Blob Shader.
  • Modding in extra shields is now a bit easier.

DOGMAN - DanWithAPan
Hello everyone. DOGMAN 1.0.8 has been released and brings with it a much needed remaster of Hopkins State Park. Lets dive right in and see what's new.

First off, let me give you some back story on Hopkins State Park. When I decided to create DOGMAN, Hopkins was where I learned everything. I learned how to sculpt landscapes, assign textures to that landscape, adjust materials, create simple AIs, create foliage, and it was my first time ever designing a map. While I look back fondly on those memories and the skills I learned back then, I realized that it was by far the most outdated map in the game. First off the map ran not so great for lots of people. This is due to a whopping 4.2 million foliage actors being loaded into the map. While you wouldn't be rendering all 4.2 million actors at once, it still caused poor performance, and long loading times. This number has been greatly reduced to 230 thousand. Loading times have been improved and performance has also been improved. Normal maps have been added to all ground textures, meaning that these textures will cast shadows, greatly improving their looks. The grass texture has also been changed to a more realistic forest floor.

The pathways in Hopkins State Park have been updated as well. While they have not been entirely changed, many more paths have been added and other have been re-directed. Along with the performance update comes a visual update. Most noticeably, the heavy dark fog has been entirely removed from the park. You will now be able to see much further into the forest and see a starry night sky. Also, the old pine tree models have been removed and replaced with conifer trees. Many places in the park now are named and have a small sign near them displaying theirname. An additional dogman has been added to Hopkins State Park as well, making a total of two. This number may be adjusted based on player feedback. Next, I am extremely excited to announce a fix for the collision issues with the game's cabins. This fix brings with it another improvement to the game as well.
First and most importantly, players will not teleport through the cabin if they collide with furniture anymore. Blocking volumes have also been added to reinforce this fix.

Second, the cabin model has been completely overhauled and three different variants have been created, making cabin exploration more interesting. These updated cabins have first been added to Hopkins State Park, and will be coming to each map in time. Please be patient with this change, I promise it will come. I am also very pleased to announce that ranger towers now have an accessible interior in which you can find flashlight batteries as well.

A negative bit of feedback I was left has been sitting in the back of my mind and growing like a weed. "The unremarkable gameplay is complemented by an absolutely empty area,
lonely houses in which there is nothing but trees growing through them". This was the driving force behind the remaster of Hopkins State Park. I would like to thank this commenter, and announce that I will be remastering both the Blueridge Campground, and Amberg Industrial Park. No more boring areas, and no more unremarkable gameplay.

Finally, four of the five bodies hidden in Hopkins State Park have been relocated to allow for a fresh playthrough of the map. Thank you so much for playing DOGMAN,
I hope you enjoy this update, and the ones to come.
Until next time, farewell.
- Daniel, developer of DOGMAN
