Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Lauren Morton)

The developers at Mimimi Productions who brought us the quite good stealth tactics game Shadow Tactics: Blades Of The Shogun and Desperados 3 are, surprise of surprises, working on another real-time tactics game. It’ll be a while before the project codenamed “süßkartoffel” or “sweet potato” reaches our hands, but Mimimi have confirmed that it is indeed the next game on their docket.

Xbox cloud gaming, Microsoft’s service which lets folks play certain Xbox games on phones, is coming to PC next spring. With an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, we’ll be able to play shiny new games even on a rubbish old PC, run on a remote server then streamed back to us as video. It’s the same dealio as Stadia, GeForce Now, and other such services. Sure, the experience is worse than running a game on a good PC, but the convenience is big.

When Fallout 76 launched in 2018 it was, frankly, Rust’s younger cousin wearing the clothes it stole from Fallout 4’s closet. After two years of updates – quests, companions, factions, and more – Fallout 76 waddles like a Wastelander and quacks like one too. I chatted with Fallout 76 project lead Jeff Gardiner and lead quest designer Brianna Schneider about where the game is headed, and the answer could be out of Appalachia.

Rockstar have revealed more about the Cayo Perico heist in a new trailer proving that this island does indeed conform to the one true purpose for privately-owned islands: hosting absolute ragers for dudes with more money than sense. You’ll be captaining a new submarine to launch your heist from when it arrives next week.

Three players pose for the camera in their new Season 10 threads.

Ah Christmas, what better way to spend it than *checks notes* fighting to the death on an industrial island in PUBG? That’s right, Playerunknown’s Battlegrounds Season 10 arrives on December 16th and it’ll have players dropping in on a brand new 32-player map, the urban isle of Haven. Which also happens to be the hangout for a very unwelcoming military group. Delightful.

The launch trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 hit yesterday ahead of tonight’s launch, and it revealed more than was initially apparent. CD Projekt Red snuck a secret message into a single frame at the end of the trailer, see. They talked about their apprehension around launching a whole new thing after years of The Witcher, and their plans for what comes next. We already knew they were planning to release free DLC nuggets followed by proper expansions, but now we know to start expecting the freebies in “early 2021”.

While Cyberpunk 2077 doesn’t launch until tonight, media folks given early access now have permission to stream the game. If you wanna have a peek (and buzz on the datanet suggests people are somewhat curious about the dystopian RPG from the makers of The Witcher), you can jack in and watch now. Maybe it’d help you decide which character origin you want to pick? Consider it a low-tech version of the game’s braindances, only with a laugh track.

The Master Chef delivers a delicious five-finger sandwich in a Halo Infinite screenshot.

After announcing in August that they were delaying Halo Infinite‘s launch from November into next year, developers 343 Industries have now revealed quite how long we’re talking: autumn 2021. That’s a big’un – it could potentially be a delay of over a year. For such a long delay to happen at such short notice, something seems wrong. The devs don’t explain the full scope of what’s up, but they do talk a lot about improvements to its looks over what we saw in July.
