Squad - Krispy
Hello squaddies,

As you may be aware, last week, we began public playtesting of our v2.0 update to help us assess the issues that would arise if we were to have released v2.0 in its current state.

We have been making steady progress on fixing bugs and addressing issues, but the progress has been slower than anticipated. This has occurred for several reasons and we want to take the time to explain why we haven’t been able to provide as many updated builds to the Public Testing branch on Steam as we initially intended.

Regrettably, due to the issues, we have encountered, and the risk involved with putting out a release with potential major problems right before the holidays, we have made the decision to push out the v2.0 official release to January 2021.

We will be extending the UAT playtesting period to be active during the remainder of December and will be continuously pushing fixes, tweaks, and updates to the UAT public playtesting for the remainder of the time before the holidays.

Earlier in the year, we had an update delayed, which was due to an issue with our build process and the hardware we use. While we were able to get the build servers up and running again, it was in a less than ideal state, which we have been consistently working to improve with hardware upgrades. This upgrade is still ongoing, and the complete hardware refresh is expected to be completed in early 2021. This should have the benefit of providing the team with quicker builds, more significant detailed reporting of issues so they can be tracked and resolved faster

Unfortunately, that also means we have internally been experiencing some frustrating issues, for example, an inconsistent shadercore crash due to our build pipeline. During several of our builds, this crash has plagued our builds, to the point where that time spent for that build is wasted as it can’t even begin testing, and another needs to be attempted.

None of this means that the team has wound down work on v2.0. We will still strive to provide UAT Public Testing builds (more info here) before the Holiday Break and looking to provide some festive fun.

Another delay is never desired, and we apologize that we won’t be able to provide an update to Squad before the end of the year, but it’s better to get it as right as possible rather than releasing content before the holiday office shutdown (flashbacks to the A7 update)

Keep an eye for further updates to our Squad - Public Testing application on Steam as we continue to work on the issues that are being reported.

Sorry.

Sea of Thieves: 2025 Edition - MrJordanAP

Another year is almost over, both here and on the shores of the Sea of Thieves, where the Festival of Giving is about to get underway! Everyone’s invited to join the festivities in the latest free Sea of Thieves update, available today on Steam.

Brand new Events and fan-favorite Voyages mingle with incentives such as login gifts and Twitch Drops as the festive season sweeps across the seas, from The Shores of Plenty to The Devil’s Roar. And before getting started, you can grab some stats on your piratical performance in 2020 by checking out Your Story So Far!

Holiday Happenings

During the inevitable end-of-year visits to the tavern, Sea of Thieves’ pirates will find Larinna offering two more Voyage options, both returning favorites. Reserved for special occasions, Gilded Voyages come with the promise of seriously boosted bounty, while the explosive Black Powder Stashes have widened their scope to include more recent toys like the Chest of Rage and Ashen Winds Skull.

Meanwhile, in true Festival of Giving spirit, a line-up of time-limited Events will let pirates rake in the riches and a range of cosmetic prizes. In the 12 Deeds of Giving Event running through to January 20, beating Challenges based on a familiar festive song (with a Sea of Thieves twist) grants goodies with a new and effortlessly elegant Eastern Winds Jade theme.

Alongside this, pirates are encouraged to give generosity a go in Plundered Presents, which brings bonus payouts and Gold Hoarder goods in return for gifting treasure to other crews. On December 30 this makes way for Grogmanay, a fiery line-up of half a dozen new Challenges with their own rewards to send pirates roaring into the new year!

Cold Store
Players expecting the Pirate Emporium to be full of wintry wonders this December will be in their element. The latest livery is the Frozen Horizon Ship Collection, with matching weapons also available to buy – so if you claim the Twitch Drops clothing rewards throughout the month and the free Frozen Horizon Tankard just for logging in and playing, you’ll have all the glacial gear you could need!

Glacial also applies to the Curse now afflicting the Inu and Ragamuffin pets in the Emporium, but they don’t seem too bothered by the drop in body temperature and are perfectly cool with being pirate sidekicks. There are Festival of Giving outfits for pets of all shapes and sizes – a seasonal collection that also includes weapons and emotes – while the Bonechiller Costume offers a much darker twist with the chance to cosplay as a creepy, crimson-clothed Skeleton Lord. And as the end of the year approaches, you can light up the seas with fireworks courtesy of the brand new Cannon Flare options!

American Truck Simulator - Alex
After much guessing and debate, many of you came to the conclusion of which state we showcased in our recent teaser trailer. Today we are excited to share with you the U.S State which will be arriving next...

Introducing Wyoming for American Truck Simulator

[/u][/b]Wyoming may be one of the least populated states in the U.S, but that doesn't mean that it lacks spectacular places to visit and see. Home to some of the country's most breathtaking national parks, Wyoming is best known for its red-walled gorges, hot springs, historic prairie towns, pioneer history, and historical attractions.

So why the Bison? Wyoming designated the American bison as the official state mammal in 1985, and to this day you can still find large herds of them grazing across the prairies and protected land which is designated for the conservation of wild bison since their decline across the U.S.

We are happy to share with you these very early development screenshots from Wyoming! Plus as you can see, all of them taken in the new light system. Please be double sure to keep in mind that everything shown is under heavy development and might not represent the final product.

We look forward to sharing more development news about Wyoming in the future; and the beautiful landscapes and new road networks that will arrive with it. Please keep in mind, that this DLC has only just begun to take shape.

Until then, however, be sure to check out the official Wyoming Steam store page with early-development screenshots, and if you wish to support us, be sure to add Wyoming to your Steam Wishlist!

Tough Enough, Good Enough and Gosh Darn It, Mutants Like Us
The feedback we gather during our test sessions is invaluable to us and vital to our development process. It helps us uncover bugs and figure out what systems need tweaking. After listening to what you had to say this week we made some improvements to the siege system.

We set up small, medium, and large mutant wave spawners to send the proper amount of mutants charging at your buildings. After running a few tests we decided to increase the difficulty of medium and large sieges in order to strike that right balance to the battle for your bases. It can’t be too easy but it also can’t be impossibly difficult or players will keep dying and losing all their hard-earned loot.

Our goal is to hit that sweet spot where it seems like combat won’t go your way, but players manage to just pull out the victory in the end if they work well together. Nothing feels as good as hobbling back into your base to start repairs after barely repelling a mutant horde.

Keep the Fires Burning
We resolved a couple of issues around drinking this week since staying properly hydrated is a big part of surviving post-apocalyptic Maui. First, we reduced the time it took to drink from water collectors and other sources, making it easier to drink on the run. We also fixed a bug making the canteen only usable once before becoming dead weight in your inventory.

After working out the water bugs we turned our attention to some fire problems. Many of you mentioned having trouble burning up bodies. Cleaning up after yourself is important if you want to avoid attracting cannibals and keep Lahaina clean and beautiful. We made some adjustments to make impromptu cremations a bit easier including halving the ignition time for burning dead bodies.

A Place for Everything and Everything in its Place
We made a lot of improvements and fixed bugs you found with the inventory too. We increased the amount of empty space in the inventory screen where items can be dropped on the ground, made equippable and usable items go to your interact bar by default if there is room, and set the lifespan of items dropped in the safe zone to 15 minutes.

We fixed bugs that would allow players to swap their equipped weapon into a container and still have the weapon equipped, items being deleted when being drug around in large stack sizes, and we fixed a crash when firing weapons near other players. Players can once again spontaneously attack others and break alliances without worrying about breaking the game.

Our servers are up 24/7 so you don’t have to wait for the weekly playtests to explore the wilds of Lahaina and claim your piece of the island.

We love sharing your pictures so keep them coming!

Mahalo to our testers who help us improve the game and find the bugs each week. Your feedback is very important to us so keep it coming! If you’re interested in helping out, head over to our discord and let us know! Here’s everything you found and we fixed this week.
  • Pistoling - Players can avoid consuming a food item if they throw it shortly before the bar fills up and the item is consumed.
  • Spitfire - Strange animation when crouching or laying down in shallow ocean water .. knee high water.
  • Pistoling - When looting a corpse, if you don't stack the Rai or 127 onto an existing one in your inventory it'll remove whatever item you drag it on to.
  • Spitfire - When researching a stackable item, if the item you put into the research bench has a quantity greater than 1 it'll consume your coins without giving you the recipe.
  • Pistoling - If you have the canteen equipped you can only drink once, you have to swap to another item and back to it to drink from it again.
  • Spitfire - Throwing weapons are disappearing on impact with mutants.
  • Pistoling - FOV slider does not change in game FOV.
