It’s been a while since we’ve made any sort of official announcement here, but I just wanted to make a quick post to let everyone know what is going on.
First off, we are still working on Super Crome!
So what’s going on? To sum it up, we had to rebuild a lot of our codebase from the ground up when we started working on the story mode. The old project was far too difficult to work with, causing a lot of headaches when adding new content. This also spurred some design changes to the base gameplay, but it more or less plays the exact same as the current Steam build.
We also want to apologize for the silence on our end. Working on this game is a part-time endeavor and lately life + work have just gotten in the way of that (we would work full-time on this if we could)!
The exciting news is that we have a demo on the way to showcase one of the levels coming to Super Crome. This demo is decked out with all new art, music (composed by John Fio), and sound effects. We’ve spent a lot of time polishing it and are eagerly looking for player feedback! There isn't a release date for the demo just yet, but expect another update closer to the holidays.
What’s next? After the story mode demo drops we’ll be focusing on bringing the Endless Mode content over from the current build. To be clear, the demo will be standalone from the current version on Steam until we do this. We want to get this out of the way as soon as possible so our updates can be more frequent. We also have some big changes in mind for the Endless mode once this is all done, but it may be awhile before we see any of these updates on Steam.
Lastly, John launched the Super Crome OST on Steam which includes all the new tracks he’s been working so hard on! We’re also trying to get a bundle up that includes both the game and his OST, so stay tuned for that!
TL;DR
Super Crome story mode demo coming soon (end of the month)
We plan to launch a demo with the first chapter before the game is officially released. We hope that this will enable players to get more interest in our game! If you want to discuss the content of the demo version with other players, you can join our discord group by link https://discord.gg/AQMEFfT5rM.

Just a quick message to say thanks to all for your great support since we launched The Unexpected Quest. We’ve been really pleased with all of your support, messages, and feedback on the game and it’s great to see so many people are enjoying it.
Based on your feedback, we’ve made some changes and fixes to the game. Please find the patch notes below.
Fixes
1. HUD elements now change size according to the monitor's DPI. 2. Characters running into the house now can be healed. 3. If the game does not find a suitable localization, the English language will be set. 4. The towers were faster to determine that their guards were destroyed.

We are so happy to announce the release of 1.0 version of the game. There is a lot of updates which include:
- Skill tree & Level up system - 4 new playable classes: Medic, Heavy, Specialist & Engineer - Earn xp at the end of games to power up your characters - Unlock powerful max abilities such as the gun drone (Engineer), Invulnerability (Medic), Berserk mode (Heavy) & Critical damage (Specialist)
It's time to add our first post release crew! The Merry are joining the game today, with their recruitment missions already on your map (and playable in standard or plus mode). By completing their mini campaign, complete with its own bespoke FMV cutscenes, you'll unlock them for dailies, countdown and skirmish. The Merry are returning characters in the Bithellverse (trademark definitely not pending), a modern update of Robin Hood and his Merry Men, first introduced in our 2015 game, Volume.
The Merry's power is one of redistribution, draining power from any crew they're placed on, and redistributing it at random, hopefully to cards more useful to your current situation. We think they'll add even more tactical depth to your play.
Hope you enjoy them and their story, definitely let us know if you run into any bugs or issues, and happy holidays! We're excited to share future plans in the new year... expect a new roadmap from us in late January.
Bug Fixes
More typo fixes, support for Big Sur (new Mac OS). Let us know if you run into anything new, and we'll get it solved.
New Features
Our first Recruitment campaign is in, with The Merry as a reward.
Daily challenges will now occasionally include The Merry.
Planned Features for Next Update
We're going to be taking our holiday breaks, but will fix any bugs as they're found. We'll return at the end of January with our next roadmap, but in the meantime, definitely let us know what you'd like to see more of.
In leagues, aspiring champions can join clubs and establish their reputation as they bash their way to the top of the competition. Check out the trailer to see the rewards awaiting mech pilots willing to fight. Joining a club in the league and earning well-fought victories will net sponsorship deals and unlockable cosmetics in the garage. Players can truly make mechs their own, outfitting them with unique skins and attachments to make their style as unforgettable as their in-ring performances.
Override 2: Super Mech League gathers 20 distinctly devastating mechs for electrifying, over-the-top throwdowns for 1-4 players. Action is accessible to all and easy to jump into, but strategic depth in combat design means even the most skill-focused players will find a deeply rewarding, eSports-ready challenge as they grapple with rivals across dangerous arenas and a range of different game modes.
Override 2: Super Mech League’s standard edition will be available digitally Dec. 22. Override 2: Super Mech League - ULTRAMAN Deluxe Edition will include four additional fighters from the iconic superhero series ULTRAMAN within the game’s season pass, along with bonus cosmetics.
Our new alpha build is available for our Kickstarter backers and it is now possible to create your own monument! Your followers will love it!
It is quite impressive at a closer view (and this is the smallest level available, it can be updated, too) and it will be recognized from all over the island, too!
Besides some smaller fixes, we improved our vegetation system and rendering setup a lot, to be able to render buildings and vegetation from far distances without frame rate drops.
In addition, it is now possible to adjust some render details settings to get an adequate frame rate on older machines, too.
This is also the first alpha build which is directly accessible via Steam, more comfort for our alpha backers!
Next, we will integrate the new character models and replace our “placeholder UI” with an adequate one.
In addition, we prepare a more detailed tutorial as we plan to release a Fata Deum for the upcoming Steam festival in February 2021!
Afterwards we will focus on the AI! A lot will happen during the begin of 2021!
