has been out for nearly a month now, so perhaps some of you have already called it a wrap on the game’s main campaign. If you were looking forward to the addition of multiplayer modes and other online London-ing in December, you’ll have a bit longer to wait than planned. Ubisoft have announced today that they’re pushing back Legion’s online modes to early 2021 while they continue to work on technical issues.

The Gonarch in a Black Mesa screenshot.

After over a decade of work (and nine months after actually releasing the game), the Black Mesa gang are finally just about finished remaking Half-Life. Today they launch a big update they’re calling the ‘Definitive Edition’, with changes including a visual refresh of many areas, performance improvements, extra polishing, and a redo of one level from the bit with all the trains. They… still have a few wee fixes to follow, but it seems they’re really, truly, mad, deeply almost done with it.

Metro 2033 - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Lauren Morton)

Last year, Metro Exodus proved that the series could crawl out of the subterranean tunnels of its past and successfully carve out a new home exploring above ground. What’s next in this brave new world, then? A lot, apparently. Developers 4A Games have published an update to mark the tenth year since the series began and to say that they’ve got a whole lot on their plates. They’re working on the next Metro series game, tinkering with concepts for multiplayer Metro, and staffing up for a totally new series.

Nvidia’s RTX 3070 vanished off the face of the planet almost as soon as it went on sale a couple of weeks ago, making it nigh-on impossible to get hold of for would-be upgraders. If you’re prepared to buy a whole new PC to get one, though, then this Black Friday deal from system builder PC Specialist may be the fastest route to getting yourself Nvidia’s new 4K monster card – and at £1299, it’s probably cheaper completely revamping an old PC, too.

It looks quite tough, which 2 Ton Studios have emphasised by saying that fights can be won or lost in just a couple hits, so you’d better make them count. With that in mind, they’ve actually shared some ways that you can avoid fighting when it launches on December 9th.

I've selected my operator, a bloke called Beck.

It’s that time again where we spin 180 degrees away from Infinity Ward, turn to Treyarch, and see what type of Call Of Duty they’ll slide into our hands. I expected to say “Oh titanic megacorporation, thank you so much for the shooty bang bang”, while stifling a massive yawn, but honestly, I’m buzzed off Call Of Duty: Black Ops Cold War’s multiplayer offerings. It’s reawakened my post-dinner excitement to get online with The Boys™ that’s lain dormant since we burned ourselves out on Warzone. I just wonder how long this feeling will last.
