Across the Grooves - contact@rockpapershotgun.com (Sin Vega)

A man and woman face each other in profile in the street, a little sadly. Narration reads 'I think we both knew that, sooner or later, it was coming to an end.'

In one of its possible scenes, a side character in Across The Grooves describes a concept. One of those ineffably existential sensations that it feels almost sacriligious to discuss aloud.

There are moments, he says (and he doesn’t put this forward as his own observation, but an ancient one independently noted by many others throughout history, across many cultures). There are moments of choice. Of course, every moment is one of choice, each milisecond the genesis of infinite diverging possibilities. But these ones are the ones we recognise as pivotal, the ones where our future was altered not by meaningless chaos and circumstance but by our own decision.

Last year I applied for a job.

A screenshot of Keith the music prodigy talking to Eivor in Assassin's Creed Valhalla

Players running around in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla over the last week or so have already uncovered a few Easter eggs here and there: nods to other games like Dark Souls, for example, and even a quest rife with Tolkien references. But our very own guides editor Jake has found one that’s much more heartwarming – a tribute to The Prodigy frontman, Keith Flint, who sadly passed away last year.

A photo of a CPU socket on a motherboard.

Your motherboard and CPU are two of the most important parts of your PC, but untangling the mess of motherboard sockets, chipsets and which ones work with which processors can be a nightmare, regardless of whether you’re building a PC for the first time or upgrading your system for the first time in years. It’s important you get the right motherboard for your CPU, too, because otherwise it simply won’t work, and nobody wants that.

Overwatch's Symmetra in her new skin tied with the new short story.Overwatch

doesn’t really have an in-game narrative. Instead, Blizzard have been telling stories about the hero shooter’s characters over the years via animations, comics and short stories. If you’ve followed much of this stuff, you’ll know that heroes Symmetra and Zenyatta have been pretty lacking on the lore front. But no longer! Because a new short story has arrived telling us a bit more about what they were up to before joining the Overwatch crew.

In a developer update, Jeff Kaplan talks about the in-game event linked to the story, as well as some changes coming to the game’s role queue system, too.
