If you’re dying for some historical demon hack & dodge ’em up action, good news. Nioh 2 has announced its PC launch date. As with the original Nioh, its sequel is officially coming to PC after its tour on the PlayStation box as Nioh 2 – The Complete Edition. You’ll be able to nab it in February. If you do, you’ll also become the proud owner of that there RGB helmet with a disproportionately large valve on the back. It is upsetting to behold.

But after lots of testing we believe we’ve found the best Assault Rifle in Call Of Duty: Cold War so far.

Screenshot of a patriotic GTA Online character.

It’s great fun to pootle around GTA Online, taking in the sights and doing casual crimes. It’s less fun to grind the millions of virtuabucks you need for cool crimetoys and hot crimefashion, especially when Rockstar also sell the in-game cash for real money and it can sure feel like they’re pushing you to buy. But, good news: this week they’re offering a chance to get one million in-game dollars for free, just by logging in. It’s worth doing even if you’re not currently playing, what with the “biggest ever update” promised later this year.

The latest wizard in League Of Legends is Seraphine, a pink-haired pop star who has also sang with League’s out-of-fiction virtual girl group, K/DA. Yesterday, a woman named Stephanie alleged that the character is based on her, and she’s not happy about it. She says she had briefly dated a Riot employee who sure gave the impression that she might play some part in the game, and was unpleasantly surprised when League later added a character who at least looks a lot like her. Riot have responded saying the character is not based on any individual, and that the employee she dated wasn’t in a role or department with input into the design process.

A close up of the female version of Eivor in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. A less impressive Saxon man is behind her.

Every year, as we approach Christmas, I have to hand in my liking indie games badge and gun because I get excited about big releases. But you and I have known each other for a while, reader, and the fact is that I genuinely like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and I am well up for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Before it came out, I was mostly stoked to play as a big shieldmaiden with smoky eyeshadow who can crush man, woman and spectral ghost dog ‘neath her mighty boot.

I’d obviously considered any potential “which Eivor is best?” to be pre-settled. It is basically a rhetorical question, I thought, in need of no further discussion. But things have changed since then. For example, it turns out that that eyeshadow is actually a tattoo. Ouch-o-rama! And, lately, I find myself inexplicably drawn to. I dunno, Boyvor? Is that what we’d call him?

Newegg's Black Friday sale artwork

Most retailers have already begun their [cms-block] festivities, but so far a lot of the early deals have only been on select PC gaming bits with no clear indication of what else might be going on sale closer to the big day. Good news for our pals in the US, then, as Newegg have now revealed all of their biggest and best Black Friday deals that will be going live on November 23rd and lasting through the week to Black Friday proper on November 27th. You can view the full list here to see what’s going to be on sale, but I’ve also picked out some of my filleted highlights below to help you navigate the flood of discounted components.

The quiz segment of The PC Gaming Weekspot regularly brings about some heated discussion. But, more often than not, both myself and Matthew know that it’s all in the spirit of competition. When all is said and done, there’s still a level of respect there.

This week’s Mystery Steam Reviews is different. I knew focusing on games set in Britain could bring some controversy, but I genuinely wasn’t expecting what happened.

Take a look at our [cms-block] recommendations and you’ll find pretty much all of them have support for either AMD FreeSync or Nvidia’s G-Sync variable refresh rate technology. But what exactly is G-Sync and FreeSync and why are they so important for gaming? Below, you’ll find all the answers to your burning G-Sync FreeSync questions, including what each one does, how they’re different, and which one is best for your monitor and graphics card. I’ll also be talking about where Nvidia’s G-Sync Compatible standard fits in with all this, as well as what Nvidia’s G-Sync Ultimate, AMD’s FreeSync Premium and FreeSync Premium Pro specifications bring to the table as well.
