We're getting closer to a final release!! We don't have an exact date because we want to focus on polishing up the game as much as we can until then. However, in the meanwhile expect more frequent smaller patches with more bug fixes and more writing for the rest of the month.


PATCH NOTES
(Game may say 0.4.3 in the corner of the menu. Check the patch notes to see if you have the latest version 0.4.4 until we correct that.)

  • New cutscenes and items related to doing a Jounce Corp. run of the game
  • Misc visual fixes around the map (mostly floating grass)
  • A few new cutscenes added
  • Recycling machines added near the dumps.
  • Polished the 'Turn with mouse' option
  • On easy mode 50% of the museum will be needed for Jounce Corp. to go away, but there is no time limit.

Also, we've removed the strafing movement ('Q' and 'E'). There really wasn't any reason for the side to side movement to be in the game. But if you used those keys to move around you can rebind them in the settings.
DOGMAN - DanWithAPan
Hello all. DOGMAN 1.0.3 has been released, and brings some great quality of life improvements. These improvements were based directly off of player feedback. To start, navigation of the parks has been tricky. To help out with this, a compass has been added to the player's HUD. On top of this glaring issue, I have heard the issue, and acted upon the level loading screen times. Before, the level loading screen, which lists off valuable gameplay tips, was only available while the level loaded. Once the loading was complete, the level would open immediately, whether you were done reading the tips or not. This was a direct result of me still learning how to program certain systems in Unreal Engine 4. This issue has been fixed. Upon the level completing loading, an option to "Press Enter To Start" will be shown. The game will not start until the player acts upon this. DOGMAN 1.0.3 has also added a little extra wildlife. You will now see deer roaming the State Park and Appalachian Camp Grounds. Deer frighten easily, and will run from anything they perceive as a threat. The player now has the ability jump. This was disabled due to an bug where the player could "freeze" the DOGMAN AI by jumping. This has been fixed. The flashlight has also received a few visual adjustments. Lastly, certain cabins and ranger towers have maps in them. These maps highlight suspicious areas, so be sure to take note of them. That's all for DOGMAN 1.0.3, I hope you enjoy the update! Hello, world! Penkura is now patched to version 0.1.9.1

Welcome again! As mention before, we are cutting patches into smaller chunks to speed up development. This chunk of the content patch is focused on bot animation, sound effects, and improve game lighting.

From now on, bots will have a variety of animation that will make them feel more "alive", and thanks to new sound effects/voices, they are now able to semi communicate with the player and with other bots.

Bots were never intended to replace the humanoid NPC (that will come at a later date) but they were intended to have some level of communication with the player. We are introducing 12 sound effects that will be treated as bots voices. The player should notice that some of the commands and triggers will have a different sound reply from the bot, from simple "yes" through "job is done/finished" to "I can't go there/error".

Sounds should not be treated as a filler that adds to the immersion of the game but as a way of hearing out which bot has a problem with navigation or is finished with its task. In the future amount of sounds will increase with the number of possible commands players will be able to give each bot.



Besides animation and sound effects, we were able to increase the quality of the light without increasing pc requirement, all that is thanks to drastic changes made to the game shaders that should not work more directly with atmospheric fog, ambient occlusion, and most of all the light itself.

Also as a thank you to the most active members of the community, we are adding names/nicknames to the credits list in the newly added "Community Bug Hunters" section.
