When Ubisoft released their Assassin’s Creed Valhalla PC requirements last month, I was worried its high system specs would be a real brute to run on lower-end PCs. After all, when Assassin’s Creed Odyssey’s 4K spec has been more or less downgraded to what you need to get the game running at 60fps on High at 1080p this time round, Valhalla looked like it was going to send hundreds of ageing PCs to an early afterlife.

Happily, I can report that Ubisoft’s official PC requirements for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla are very much on the conservative side. I’ve been testing the game with one of their recommended 6GB GTX 1060 cards for the past couple of days, and it’s capable of doing a lot more than their estimate of 30fps on High at 1080p. It can’t quite get to a steady 60fps, all told, but it can with a few tweaks in its extensive graphics menu. Those Japanese mobsters with hearts of gold return today for a new adventure in Yakuza: Like A Dragon. Sega’s RPG series takes a slightly different turn with this new entry, switching out the beat ’em up combat for some turn-based action.

Set in the city of Yokohama, Like A Dragon is moving on from good old Kiryu to introduce newbie Ichiban Kasuga. In an unsurprising turn for these Yakuza lads, Kasuga’s story is set up by a spot of betrayal.

You can upgrade most of the gear you find while playing Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Your trusty blacksmith will use certain resources to unlock higher-level upgrades, one of them being Nickel Ingots. As if all the games on offer on Xbox Game Pass for PC weren’t already a pretty good deal, Electronic Arts are adding a big old library of games to the service soon, too. As of December 15th, Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate members will have access to EA Play for no extra cost. That means for your basic Game Pass sub of £8/$10 a month, you can play tons of Microsoft’s games (as well as many others) and all your fave EA ones like Dragon Age: Inquisition, The Sims 4, Battlefield V and more.

As of late, Microsoft have bought up countless mid-size game studios, culminating recently in the acquisition of big lad ZeniMax in September. Even still, they hungered for more, and now it looks like they’re after a Japanese studio to gobble up.
