Back in October, we announced that we would be slightly delaying the release of Fury of Dracula: Digital Edition (if you missed the official announcement, you can find it here).

Well, today we're pleased to announced we have a new official release date of November 12th!

We've taken the time we needed to polish up the game ready for release, and will just be bug testing between now and release day. We're also going to be reaching out once more to press, streamers and influencers so they know to take a look at the game ahead of it releasing.

We know a lot of you were understanding of why we felt the need to delay the game, but we want to take another chance to say just how much we appreciate the kind words and appreciation we've received from you all over the past 2 weeks. Endless Mode and Photo Mode were something the community had been asking for since the launch of Windbound and we've seen some incredibly positive response to this latest update to the game!

Windbound - Dev Diary: The Music

From snorting into a bucket to recording the sound of his own footsteps along the banks of Sydney’s Parramatta River, Zander Hulmes went the extra mile to deliver an organic rack of SFX and a beautiful soundtrack for Windbound, driven by its procedurally generated world and player interactions.

Its iconic music and sounds have already resonated among the growing number of Windbound fans, a tribute to the immense love and care that went into it. But developing a track that’s driven by the procedurally generated nature of the world wasn’t easy.

Here’s our very own Zander Hulme, Composer for Windbound, giving the inside scoop on what it took to craft the music of Windbound.


Windbound - Dev Diary: The Environment

Designed only as a tool to build the game initially, the procedural mechanics of Windbound now control everything you see and hear around you - from the types of trees, the placement of rocks, to where creatures and ancient ruins spawn. It makes every gameplay experience different, and produces a world not only organic in its appearance but also unique to your play.

Brent Waller has championed this truly special way of designing Windbound’s environment and gives us his inside scoop as to how it all came about in our latest dev diary.


Windbound - Dev Diary: Kara

Her heritage has equipped her with all the skills she needs to survive, yet Kara still faces unknown situations, decisions, and environments when she’s stranded on Windbound’s islands.

She must survive, find her way back to her family, all while battling the elements, the environment, the creatures, and a dark looming shadow of the Nautilus that follows her through the game.

In our final dev diary of the series, founders Mitch and Chris talk through the inspiration for Kara, her background, and how she handles braving the storm.

As promised, the update is available today - just in time for your weekend gaming sessions! Please let us know if you find anything new and we are getting back to work now as we are still working on the game!

What was fixed (among other minor bugs):
  • players are able to modify their height which actually adds "seated" mode
  • players can reset position and turn using a controller
  • french fingers active box is bigger so putting fingers into the box is easier now
  • Oculus S pause issue is no more
  • we implemented "grab" buttons on controllers as an add-on to grabbing with a trigger

Hello space captains! Today we bring you something from a dark past: Old Enemies! This brand new DLC introduces 20 new enemy ships across 3 major new factions. Explore 10 additional planets with their own unique game-changing events and take command of a new playable ship - The Exception.

This mysterious alien craft was excavated from a deep ravine on Mars. Its asymmetric hull contains an enormous energy weapon plus other advanced systems and technology, including an exotic garden of crystal life.



New enemy ships
New enemies will be roaming the universe in addition to old ones, once you activate the DLC. The number of enemy fleets will remain almost the same raising general difficulty slightly, but ship loot will usually make up for losses during battles.





New planets
The DLC also adds some new planets and other points of interest into the game.
You must restart your run (or finish a level while the DLC is already active) to experience the new content.



Three new major factions
  • The Moralors - This civilization has built its foundational religion on the importance of sleeping morally, tentacles on the left side and tail on the right. Other ways of sleeping are considered deeply blasphemous to the god and immoral to Moralor civilization, thus obviously worthy of painful death. Fortunately, the Moralors are usually satisfied with verbal assurance of proper sleeping styles and positions.
  • The Phobians - A semi-primitive civilization that has indulged in stagnation of epic proportions. Your mere presence in their system means you are threatening "the Phobian family values, the children and small animals, and also creating a risk of fear." - which again means you must pay for your disruptions or fight.
  • The Capitaalo - A quasi-primitive civilization obsessed with their ancient currency system and measuring things in money. The Capitaalo have only recently joined the galactic community with access to FTL travel. They are trading with the Rat Empire and claim that your presence in their territory will destabilize their financial markets, requiring you to pay for damages or fight their crude ships.

Together with the launch of this DLC, a free set of new ship weapons & modules will be also added into the base game.
War Thunder - pryanick
USS North Dakota was the second of two American Delaware-class battleships, built by the US Navy in the late 1900’s as a response to the appearance of dreadnought-type battleships. Arriving with the release of the “New Power” major update, USS North Dakota will become one of the first American battleships available to captains in War Thunder!



Briefly: Heavily armed and well-protected, USS North Dakota is a typical battleship of its era and the first ship of its class to become available to American captains in the game.

In War Thunder, USS North Dakota will be the first battleship to join the ranks of the American naval research tree and also among the first vessels of this type to make its way into the game. Embodying all aspects for which these highly anticipated ironclads are known for, USS North Dakota will surely send some mighty shockwaves upon appearing in War Thunder naval battles in the very near future!

One of more characteristic features which define a battleship is, of course, its large-calibre primary battery, and boy, does USS North Dakota manage to impress in this regard! Possessing a primary arsenal consisting of a total of 10 x 12’’ (305 mm) cannons, split into five twin turrets, USS North Dakota promises to pack one of the heaviest broadsides among the first wave of battleships arriving with the upcoming update.



In addition to all the large-calibre artillery, USS North Dakota also comes fitted with seven 5’’ (127 mm) secondary battery cannons, mounted in casemates on either side of the ship’s hull. Furthermore, four 3’’ (76 mm) cannons make up the warship’s AA arsenal, while USS North Dakota also has a small trick up its sleeve in the shape of a pair of fixed underwater torpedo launchers on the ship’s bow. However, due to a lack of short range automatic weapons, USS North Dakota is a more than inviting target for pilots, looking to bag a juicy score!

During regular gun engagements with other warships however, USS North Dakota promises good survivability, mainly thanks to its thick armor protection as well as large complement. Specifically, the 1,384 crewmembers operate a warship whose vital components are protected by a 279 mm strong belt. Furthermore, the conning tower and turrets are encased in 292 and up to 305 mm of armor plating, respectively.



On the flip side of the coin, possessing great firepower and protection usually comes to the detriment of mobility and USS North Dakota is no exception in this regard. Despite being powered by a steam turbine, generating 33,875 horsepower, USS North Dakota can only reach a rather pedestrian 21.8 kts (40.4 km/h) top speed. As a result, captains are best advised to stay clear of confined fighting areas and instead focus on providing deadly long-range fire support for their allies from more open waters.

USS North Dakota arrives in War Thunder with the release of the “New Power” major update and will become available to all captains as one of the first battleships in the US naval tree.
